Re: OCC Thread

Welcome Michael Smith to the game.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Still advertising for players, but with four slots now filled, I'm planning to get things going next week after Christmas is over.

Re: OCC Thread

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas.

And we are off and running. Episode 1 has now begun with a recap of the final battle and just a few hours have passed.  Your characters should either already be in Sunnydale or just be arriving.

Re: OCC Thread

Made a change to the Buffy death scene to something less graphic in the initial post. Not planning on excessive displays of violence here.  My intent was to make it clear she was dead and there would be no vagueness to her death.

Forgot to take my laptop with me on my trip home, so I'll have to use my iPhone. Expect considerably shorter posts from me for the next couple days.

Re: OCC Thread

Sorry for another edit. Looked up medieval torture device references and picked "pear of anguish" from a list without actually reading its application. Upon review, its a little more messed up than I was aiming for there. Just edited it to be thumbscrews instead.

Again, apologies for the edit.

Re: OCC Thread

Lol, I learned about it during my history course. They have different versions for different orifices. Truly delightful. If I lived in early modern Europe, I would just tell my torturers everything I knew straight off.

Re: OCC Thread

Yeah, in hindsight I actually think I recall it being in a show at some point too (either the Tudors or the Borgias) but didn't make the connection when I initially posted. I thought it best to edit it out as it was more hardcore than I intended and also might be broaching on a violation of rpol content policies.

Re: OCC Thread

No problem.

I'm going to give Nathaniel and Meredith a chance to catch up to Frey if they want before I describe what he sees in the high school.

You will find the electricity out and all light is coming from the windows.  Electricity is out all over Sunnydale.  Not too much of a problem in the day, but you better stock up on battery powered lamps when the sun goes down.  I hear there's a "get all you want free" sale going on all over town.

Pear of Anguish?

Yeah, that's an Angelus approved device right there.

Re: OCC Thread

Is there are reason no one is posting? I'm only holding off at the moment to give another player the chance to set the tone/direction of this scene. But its a been a few days now.

Nathaniel's player previously indicated no access to their laptop a few days ago.

Otherwise, no posting problems I am aware of.  I figured there might be a post holiday slump as everyone tries to get back in the groove.

Re: OCC Thread

I've got all your character sheets up now.  You should be able to edit them.

Welcome Grave Girl as played by me.  As I noted in the character submission section, I would be taking one character for myself.

That's not her real name.  She's a character from the show.

Any guesses?

Red Hair makes me instantly think of Willow...

But you wouldn't have taken an FC that big, cause it'd go against your premise.

Re: OCC Thread

Well, lets see, red-ish brown hair, recently dug grave not in a graveyard but next to another recently dug grave, clearly a teenager...

I'd say it'd would almost have to be (oops, wrong name) - Chloe or Annabelle. Though I'd say Annabelle has the red-ish hair, I can't really recall.

Edit: Actually, I was recalling correctly with the name Molly. Though she wasn't one of the two graves Buffy was shown digging, she was killed at the same time as another potential, so it could be her, I suppose. I don't recall them actually being buried... I think their corpses were left behind during a retreat.

So, probably Annabelle then.

Edit2: Of course, the problem with Annabelle is that I believe that it was implied that she was literally ripped in half. So it'd take some interesting magic for her to be walking around even if somehow resurrected/re-animated. But than again, this is Buffyverse... so... yeah...

Re: OCC Thread

We have a winner.  It's Annabelle.

She wasn't ripped in half. Have a look at this episode screencap, Buffy finds her body, bloody, but still in one piece.

In reply to Director (msg # 44):

Right, right... I think I'm remembering some talk that was going on in the Bronze back in the day that she was supposed to have been ripped in half (hence Giles drawing in First Date) but they ultimately didn't do it. Too hardcore I guess or maybe it was just a rumor. Or I could be misremembering, the Bronze was quite a long time ago.

Re: OCC Thread

You're on to something.  I seem to remember reading that two things were supposed to happen in that episode but were changed due to budgetary reasons; Annabelle was supposed to die more violently and when the Turok-Han is holding Spike's head under water it was going to be holy water and we would see his flesh burning.

Re: OCC Thread

You know, ever since Nathaniel mentioned a fire spell, I keep getting this mental image of the group running into an uber-vamp and out of nowhere Nathaniel just busting out, "Hadoken!".
