Episode 1-1

Start with a shot of a map of California.  Pan in closer until you see Sunnydale, California on the map.  Dissolve to entrance of Sunnydale, with the Welcome to Sunnydale sign.  Things are very quiet.  Montage of shots follow around the town indicating it is devoid of human life.

That is except beneath Sunnydale high, the site of the Hellmouth.  Buffy Summers is fighting an army of Turok Hans along with a newly created army of Slayers thanks to Willow's magic spell.  She holds the legendary Slayer scythe in her hands.
Above ground, Willow, Giles, Xander, Dawn, and several others are battling any Turok Hans that make it above ground.  They do, and then Willow and others go down into the Hellmouth to join Buffy.  Massive battle goes on, but then the Turok Hans are gaining the upper hand.  Several new Slayers fall.  Buffy fights on, but then one Turok Han comes at her from behind and slashes his claws into her throat, tearing away blood and flesh.  Then the Turok Han sinks his teeth into the other side of her neck and drains the blood she has left. Buffy falls, dead before she hits the ground. The Slayer has fallen!!  All is lost!!

Another Turok Han picks up the now fallen Slayer scythe, not knowing what to make of it. Then The First appears in the form of Buffy no less, saying nothing, smiling so evilly.  Sensing the tide has turned in their favor, the Turok Hans begin overruning the Slayer army.  Willow falls, Giles falls, everyone human dies.  The Turok Hans rush for the surface.

Only one remains standing for the forces of good: Spike who fights on. Then the amulet around his neck begins to glow.  And then a brillant light spreads through the entire cavern destroying the Turok Hans and the bodies of the fallen heroes.  The First, still in Buffy's form, screams "No!! I was so close!!" as the light from the amulet bathes it, and it then disappears, banished to another dimension.  Spike then dissolves to ash as the Hellmouth is sealed.  Above ground the town shakes with the force of a small earthquake, the stops.  All is silent.

Almost.  Pan the camera around the high school as you see Turok Hans wandering the halls.  It seems a lot of them made it above ground and away from the amulet's deadly light before the Hellmouth sealed.  The only thing keeping them in the school is the sunlight and that won't stay up forever.

Hours pass.

2:00 pm Sunnydale time.

Re: Episode 1-1

This place is such a dump!  Ugh, why am I even wasting my time here?!  I swaer, I bet I can't even get a good capucchino right now!  Merry shook her head as she strolled down Sunydale's thoroughly abandoned Main Street.  She'd seen more than a few cars fleeing town without waiting for an explanation, and she just knew it meant something was up with the Hellmouth.  She grimaced and lifted her foot as she narrowly avoided putting a designer boot into a small mound of trash.  Her nose wrinkled in distaste, and she stepped into the street and put her hands on her hips.

She made quite the striking figure, dressed to the nines in designer jeans and boots, with a fashionable peasant blouse.  The wind whipped threough her hair and she smirked as she thought of how she must look like the cover to an action novel...especially given the well-worn saber in a scabbard on her hip.  Sighing, she took out her phone and punched in a number on speed dial.

"Hi daddy!  Yes I got into town all right.  No, I'm sure I'll be fine going in alone.  Yes I'll ask Ovu Mobani if he'd like to do lunch with you if he found a new host to possess.  Honestly daddy, it's not like I've never been near a Hellmouth.  I mean, you sent me to Cleveland!  If I could survive having to stay in any city that thinks Starbucks is gourmet coffee, I can handle a California Hellmouth just fine.  Okay, love you daddy!  Feed Fluffy or he'll eat the smaller Hellhounds!"

Merry hung up and looked around.  It wasn't surprising to see the town so deserted.  Any vampires wouldn't be around for hours, and with a Slayer somewhere in town, most demons would be laying low on general principal.  Humming to herself, she started walking down the street again, figuring the middle of town was a good place to start scouting for survivors.

Re: Episode 1-1

Mike, on the other hand, was in the underground tunnels. He was gonna try to do some good, but (un)luckily, the various corridors got cut off, and he couldn't get to the battle. Now, he was underground, trying to find a corridor that wasn't shut. Not so easy to do, at the moment.

Re: Episode 1-1

Boring, boring, boring.  For a town with aHelmouh allegedly facing armageddon, Sunnydale just didn't have much going for it.  Sure, that probably had something to do with the fact that the entire town was abandoned but it didn't do anything to improve Merry's mood.  All she got were empty streets half-full of abandoned cars and empty storefronts that occasionally made her sigh and wish they were open.  Sacrifices had to be made though, and for once it wasn't literal.

Meanwhile underground:

As Michael makes his way through the underground Sunnydale tunnels, he comes across one he doesn't recall seeing before.  In fact the tunnel walls look noticeably newer than the others, like it was built just recently.

Re: Episode 1-1

Mike was always in an odd spot. He didn't fit in with heroes, he didn't fit in with his own kind, so he was always kind of stuck in the middle.

Of course, reality was, he probably could've fit in with the heroes much better then he thought, he just never made the effort. It's too bad, they could've told him some important information about hia current state.

Regardless, when he sees a tunnel that looks like it wasn't there before, he takes it. Where would this one lead?
