Episode  1-2

Picking up where we left off at the end of Episode1:

Michael moves like a blur down the hallway, following the path of the fleeing Turok-Han that leads him through the double doors which indeed turns out to be the school auditorium.

The sight that greets him, well............it's a good thing he doesn't breathe, otherwise the sight would suck the air from his lungs.

Turok-Hans.  A lot of them.  Fifty?  Sixty?  More?!

They like it here because the auditorium has no windows.  They watch as one of their number barrels in through the doorway and down the aisle.

Then they look up at what followed.

Fifty plus Turok-Hans all turn to face Michael.

OCC: And episode 2 is off and running.  Pick up where you left off at the end of ep 1.

Turok Hans are fast. Hopefully, he's faster.

Because he suddenly about faces and RUNS like the wind! 4 at a time, great. 50? The laws of probability just don't allow for that. He doesn't mind taking them down in small groups, true enough, but yeah...fighting an army by yourself is just stupid.

Re: Episode  1-2

As Daniel's beat up Plymouth GTX made it's way into the town the first thing he noticed was nothing.  As in the absolute nothingness of what seemed to be a ghost town if it wasn't for the fact that there were cars left behind he would have to wonder if the streets ever saw any use before.  "Not a creature stirring not even a mouse, I think Santa's working early this time of year.  Just what in the hell?"   There were certainly rumors that the town was rife with problems.  But now he had to wonder who was even around to spread that talk in the first place.

"I'm guessing stopping by the Denny's to get a bite to eat is off the table.  Now where am I going to get my daily dose of processed garbage?"  Suffice to say he had absolutely no idea what he had gotten into.

A horde of Turok-Hans rush towards the auditorium entrance in pursuit of Michael.

But the auditorium entrance, even with double doors, wasn't designed to fit that many ubervamps through it at the same time.  They crash into each other, created a bottlenecked mob at the entrance with none of them fitting through at once.

Our heroes have a slight head start.

Re: Episode  1-2

Pulling into the parking lot of Sunnydale High, Daniel put his car into park.  The loud roar of the exhaust booming overhead as he shut the vehicle down.  There was probably a year in which the muscle car was worth a pretty penny, but that was before his lifetime.  Now it was just a scrap heap for getting from point A to point B, a resilient scrap heap but a heap nevertheless.

He wasn't much for higher educational pursuits and would have completely parsed the building over if the whole ghost town aspect didn't give the place a horror movie vibe.  "I suppose I should go get some extra credit"  Figuring he should scope the landscape some, and the school was as good a place as any to start Daniel took the key out of the ignition before exiting his vehicle.  Heading towards the back of the school he'd begin to approach the door to the gymnasium hoping to try his luck in a little breaking and entering if the door took any difficulty to open.

As Mike came barreling down the hallway, Merry sighed and gave him The Look.  She'd learned it from her mother, and it was a special look that clearly conveyed a snse of "what did you do this time?!" to the person on the other end without needing to say a word or even know them well.  Still, foolish decisions or not, it simply wasn't smart to loiter in the hall naymore. She gave Miochael a slight smirk and nodded.  "I'd love a lift, if you're offering.  The company here is turning absolutely dreadful..."

Down the hallway:

Merry and Mike here a loud crashing noise as the horde of Turok-Hans force their way out of the auditorium entrance, and crash into a huge pile in front of it. There's nothing quite like a deadly pile of ubervamps piled on top of each other, trying to get their footing.  Only a few seconds until at least some of them get to their feet and come a running.

In the gymnasium:

Daniel finds the door unlocked and enters the gymnasium easily.  As he steps in the first thing he notices is a girl lying on the center of the gym floor in a pool of blood, apparently either unconcious or dead.

Over at the Summers House:

The water stops and Annabelle steps out of the shower.  She towels herself off, then grabs the nearest hairbrush that looks the least used and brushes her hair, now not quite as scared of her own reflection.

Now what about clothes?  Her own were in no condition to wear.  She steps out in the hallway, looks around, then steps towards the nearest bedroom.  Opening the closet, she grabs the first pair of trousers and top she sees.  Luckily they were a close fit.

Now her next order of business she thought was to find another person.  Maybe even one who could confirm who she is.

Mike picks up Meredith without another word being said, and dashes straight for the tunnels. It'd take the Turok Han time to find him down there, and if they did, it'd be in a small enough group he'd be able to take them.

Even carrying somebody, he's still inhumanly fast. Obviously so.

The Turok-Hans start to free themselves from the pile, some get to their feet and take off after Michael and Merry.  Some go in the other direction leading to the front.

In the gym Daniel takes a closer look at the girl and confirms she is in fact dead.  Before he can check anything else on the body, he looks up to see a guy dashing through the gym entrance carrying a girl.

OCC: Mike and Merry are now face to face with Daniel.  They've made it to the gym, the tunnel access hatch is in the locker room.

The trio make it to the gym locker room doorway, when they see Turok-Hans pouring in the gym entrance on the other side.  They don't have time to stop and count, but clearly it's A LOT.

They make it through the gym locker room and to the underground tunnel entrance.

On the other side of the thick locker room walls, you can hear the thundering feet of a mob of Turok-Hans coming closer.

OCC:You're now at the tunnel entrance which Mike previously used to get in.  When the school was rebuilt, someone built a secret tunnel entrance to the school that comes up through the gym locker room (it was kept locked before the school was abandoned). You don't see any Turok-Hans yet, but they will be coming through the locker room door any second.

Mike neglects to mention that there's a reason he picked underground instead out of outside. At 'noble steed' there's kind of a deadpan "Neigh."

At any rate, down the hatch he goes to the underground. The Turok Han COULD follow down here, but he's more likely to encounter small groups he can actually fight and kill then large groups who'd beat him with numbers.

Graham had arrived in Sunnydale a few days earlier to reunite with his parents.  However, it appears they were gone.  Along with their neighbors, friends, church members and most everyone else in town.  Sensing something was up, Graham went to the one place he knew he could find answers about what was happening in Sunnydale.

As he walked up to the house at 1630 Revello Drive, he couldn't help but notice a trail of dirt leading to the house.  Weird people apparently are not good with cleaning, he thinks to himself as he knocks on the door.

Sunnydale High: The trio drop down into the tunnel entrance just as you hear the crashing sound of the ubervamps coming through the locker room door.  Picking up the scent of their prey, they head for the tunnel access hatch.  A mob of them dives for the access hole at once, again blocking each other's way, preventing any of them from getting down to our heroes for now.

OCC: You three are now in the tunnels.  The mob of ubervamps are right above you and see you, but they are all trying to get down the hatch at once and blocking each other's way. You have a chance for a headstart. Ubervamps don't grasp the "Wait your turn, one at a time" concept.

Graham opens the door slowly while calling out, "Hello?  I'm looking for Buffy Summers.  Hello? Anyone here?"

Getting no response, Graham cautiously enters the house, looking around for signs of anyone being here.  He takes in the sleeping bags, medical supplies and the apple cores and wrappers remains of a meal long since finished but not cleaned up.  He notices the trail of dirt heads up the stairs and moves in that direction, while palming his knife.  "Hello?  Anyone here? My name is Graham and I'm looking for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  You know, short on stature and patience but big in attitude and strength. Any idea where she is?" he calls out while emerging on the second floor.

As Graham watches, a girl slowly steps from one of the second floor bedrooms of the Summers house.  She looks about 17, and she's got a knife in her hand, pointing in his direction.  No, not a knife. Actually she's holding a letter opener.

"B..B... Buffy S.....Summers?  You......you're looking for the Slayer?  This is............her house isn't it?" the girl says.  Her accent is British and her words come out slowly like she's learning to talk again.

Admittedly stakes weren't Daniel's go to choice for problem solving.  But it only ever took one encounter with a vampire to convince anyone to always keep one handy.  Landing a straight kick at the vamp's torso, Daniel takes the opportunity to pull out a stake.  Lucky for Daniel, the creature reels from his kick and steps back on a rock, landing on his back as he hurls a weak kick towards Daniel that misses.

Just then Daniel notices what's going on several yards down the tunnel:  One more Turok-Han has made it through the mob and down in the tunnel.  Wait, another one does.  And another. Three more Turok-Hans are down at the other end of the tunnel and coming his way.

Meanwhile, the Turok-Han who has given up on chasing Mike and Merry is turning around and coming Daniel's way.

OCC: Daniel now has one TH in front of him but on the ground, and three more coming his way, they have some ground to cover, he has three turns until they get to him.  He has two turns until the Turok-Han behind him makes it to him. If he wants to run the same way Mike went, he only has to get past the one coming back.

Summer's Residence

"I think I know where to look for the Slayer and the rest of her group," Graham said after reading the letter from the Davis girl.  He moved into the kitchen.  "It appears they all went to Sunnydale High School to take care of some 'ultimate evil.'  And at least one of them wasn't certain they would make it out alive."

At the last statement, he holds out the letter to Annabelle.  "I found a letter from Victoria Davis.  Sounds like some letters we used to write just before leaving on a mission with a good chance of not returning."

And also getting closer to the one Turok-Han who is rushing up to meet him.

Closer.....closer.........

Annabelle washes the soap from her hands then drains the sink as she looks at the letter.

"I know what "Ultimate Evil" she's talking about.  The First Evil.  According to Mr. Giles, it is the evil that predates all other evil. It had a plot to wipe out the Slayer line by sending out its agents known as the Bringers to kill all the Potential Slayers like me, then it would finally kill the Slayer herself. The First has some other kind of agent..............but I can't seem to remember what that is at the moment.

Re: Episode  1-2

Momentum was a hell of a thing especially when getting right out of dodge.  The moment the Turok Han came into view Daniel leapt forward slamming the fist holding his stake down into the vamp's forehead with a superman punch. The creature growl in pain.  Upon landing he wouldn't wait to find out if contact was made going on the offensive would twist his body to so as to try and launch a roundhouse kick towards its jaw, but this time the ubervamp moved out of the way.  "Sorry no time to talk."  Obviously experienced in the trenches of a good scrap now and then he'd retract his limbs to guard himself after his initial flurry although stumbling slightly to get comfortable as the Turok-Han reached forward with both arms, grabbing Daniel by the neck.

OCC: Turok-Han has Daniel by the neck, and probably not to give him a kiss.  Daniel can try to break free with a strength doubled roll before the vamp makes his attack.  Daniel can still attack as well.

Re: Episode  1-2

Daniel wasn't a fan of any opportunity to get a first hand account of undead halitosis.  Even less so when it had friends nearing with every second from behind.  So one could imagine that having a pair of unfriendly arms wrapped around his neck wasn't the most comfortable sensation at the time.  With no time to waste Daniel didn't even consider protecting himself taking advantage of the vampire's other wise occupied arms, occupied grasping his neck mind you but still occupied, to send an elbow into its head.  Immediately swinging downwards afterwards driving the stake into the bloodsucker's heart. The vampire let's out a half growl, that is quickly cut off as he turns to dust.

Daniel doesn't have long to savor his victory as he turns back to see the undead's four buddies getting cloer.

OCC: One down, four getting closer.  Probably a good time to run.

Spotting the group of pursuers nearing Daniel would sigh.  "I like Star Wars as much as the next guy, but I think the New Hope gag is ridiculous."  Reminded of his share of Harrison Ford classics Daniel wouldn't sit around to exchange barbs with creatures that couldn't even mutter their own names.  Taking off in a full sprint his body would move with such grace that one would be hard pressed to prove he was ever in a fight.

As Daniel bolts down the tunnel, the sound of Turok-Han growling echoes all the way back to him.  And it's getting louder. With a glance over his shoulder, he will see more of them have now squeezed through the trap door.  He can't make out the exact number, except it's a lot!

A shadowy form appears in front of Daniel, then as he gets closer, he realizes it's Mike on the way back to help.

OCC: Lots more Turok-Hans on the way.  The spot Michael left Merry at leads to a manhole cover that leads out onto the street which is covered in shade this time of day, so Michael can safely exit without burning up.

As Mike and Daniel look down the tunnel, they see the four ubervamps stop and wait.  Then they look back towards their buddies who are on their way.  Looks like they're smart enough to attack these two heroes in numbers.  It looks like at least ten more are coming.

But then Mike's enhanced vamp hearing picks up something, sounds like two voices, one female and one male coming from the vicinity of the spot he left Meredith.

OCC: More ubervamps on the way, the first four are waiting for their pals to catch up, then move in at once.  Right now they are five turns away from your current position.

"Rrr. Can't take that many of 'em. Get out of here. We need a choke point so we can take them down one at a time."

A choke point...like, say, the manhole he just sent Merry up through. At least it was in the shade up there.

"Follow me."

And back to the path up. It's okay if they catch up, they can only climb up one at a time, and the guy who comes up first can be staked easily enough. And then they just got mowed down while they're trying to pull themselves up out of the manhole.

Michael and Daniel follow Merry up ladder and out of the now open hole. They find a teenage girl and a guy holding the manhole cover.

The side of the street in back of them (Summers house side) is now covered in shade which extends about halfway across the street and the manhole.

Everyone can hear the sound of Turok-Hans growling coming from down the hole.  And it's getting closer.

OCC: Turok-Hans getting closer.  Half the street is now covered in shade, the other half still sunny.  So if they start coming out of the hole and you can throw or hit one onto the other side of the street, the sunlight will do the rest.

Mike, of course, was prepared for just such a thing to happen, and swiftly aims his stake at the poor fool's heart. The creature's howl of pain is cut off as he explodes to dust.

And if two more come up, he's ready for that too.  And they do, a second Turok-Han emerges and explodes to dust as the stake connects with his heart, followed by a third.

Then nothing.  The growling noise gets more distant.  Looks like seeding three of their own getting dusted so quickly has scared them off for now.

Merry gave Graham a quick grin.  "Meredith Crowley, delighted to meet you.  I've no doubt the pleasure's entirely yours.  If you'll excuse me, I think I just saw someone I know..."  Taking her leave before the Turok-Hans could make their way up out of the sewer, Merry Dashed towards the house the girl had run into.  She eased open the door and called out.  "Annabelle?  Is that you in there?"

Merry finally noticed Annabelle's condition and knelt in the closet.  "You're positively a wreck my dear!  I don't know about gone from town, but I know the ones right in the neighborhood are thinking a right bit better just now, aren't they?  Damned primitive savages...at least normal vampires can be reasoned with!"

Even though she hadn't seen her in a few years, Annabelle had no trouble remembering the girl in front of her.  Merry was anything but forgettable.

Annabelle stood up and quickly wiped her eyes.  "Oh Merry, I know I look just beastly!" Annabelle said, referring less to her red eyes and more to the clothes she raided from Buffy's closet.  "This is the best I could find at the moment, my clothes are in the bathroom and all muddy.  We really must find the mall here, perhaps there's at leat one shop with clothes for proper British girls.  It's a long story, but I'll bring you up to speed on what I've been up to these past years.
