Re: Episode  1-2

Our heroes take off with Mike in the lead.  Behind them, the Turok-Hans are still fighting and getting in each other's way, trying to get through the hatch.

But then.....one.....two Turok Hans manage to get past the mob and down the hatch. They immediately start running towards the heroes.

OCC:Two ubevamps now running towards you.  You currently have a three round head start.  If you wish to run, make a dexterity doubled roll.  If you want to fight, turn and wait for them and post in the combat thread.  If Mike wants to carry Merry and run again, he can do so with no penalty.

Summers House:

Annabelle pauses for a moment then lowers the letter opener, but doesn't drop it just yet.  "I'm.............Annabelle...............my name is Annabelle.  I...........was....it was empty in this house when I got here.  I don't know.........where the Slayer is.  I think we should try to find her. she finished, her words coming faster and more coherently now.

Re: Episode  1-2

Hearing the scramble of two of the pursuers getting through Daniel sighed, "Oh screw this.  Take the princess to another castle.  I'm just gonna give us some breathing room."  He turned around stopping in place, Daniel wasn't planning on holding his ground against all of them but two should be simple enough.  Why are they so freaking feral?  Picking off the stragglers that neared them would at least buy some comfort room.  As long as no more got through immediately after at least that was the idea.

Summers House:

Annabelle raises both eyebrows and her feelings of fear and apprehension turn to annoyance.  "Me?!  I'm sound as a pound!  Perfectly fine for someone who just woke up buried alive!!  I'll bet my old school chums are behind this!  They hunted me down and thought burying me might be good for laughs!  Well, they bloody well better hope I don't see any of them first!" Annabelle said, her voice now much stronger.

She steps towards the bathroom and grabs her dirty shoes.  "I'm going to go find the kitchen sink and scrub off my trainers, then we'll go look for the Slayer." she says as she steps past Graham and heads downstairs.

Summer's Residence

"Okaaaaaay," Graham drawls as Annabelle stomps by him and down the stairs.  "Stark raving mad, everyone of them," he mutters softly to himself as he sees the apparently British girl turn in to the dining room.

Shaking his head, Graham descends the stairs and turns right, to look around the living room for clues as to the location of the slayer and her gang.

OOC:Graham Miller rolled 16 using 1d10+6. Searching room. (3 perception+3 notice). I think I did this right for combining the right attribute and skill but if not, please let me know and will correct.

While searching, he calls out, "So Annabelle, how do you know Buffy?  Are you a friend of her sister's?"

Once again, Mike picks up Merry and DASHES!

The new guy is somewhat unlikely to be able to keep up, let alone the actual bad guys. No mere man can run that fast...

Re: Episode  1-2

Summers House:

Graham looks around and sees no clue to where Buffy and her friends had gone.  As he noticed before, there were plenty of sleeping bags and cots lying about indicating she had a lot of house guests.  Then something catches his eye; he sees an envelope with the words "To Whom It May Concern" written on it.

Underground:

The two Turok-Hans are getting closer, one slows down and approaches Daniel, ready to engage.  The other one bolts past Daniel and maintains pursuit of Mike and Merdith.  In vain it seems, as Mike is running with enough speed to impress even The Flash.

OCC: Yes Graham, your roll was correct.

OCC: Daniel now has a Turok-Han in front of him ready for a fight, Daniel has initiative.  Mike and Merry still have one in pursuit, your lead is now four rounds.  If Mike wins the next roll,  he's outrun the creature.

"I came here with Mister Giles, Buffy's watcher.  It was four of us, Mister Giles, two other girls, and me.  All three of us girls are Slayers in Training."

"Slayers-in-training, huh?  What does that mean," Graham replied while picking up the envelope.  Looking at for a moment, Graham flipped it over and opened the envelope.  Carefully he removed the contents and looked at it.

"It's difficult to explain," Annabelle begins as she still scrubs her trainers while answering Graham from the kitchen.

"Not every girl can become a Slayer.  The Watcher's Council has some way of determining which girls may be the Slayer one day and when they do, a watcher is sent to the girl and he trains her for the day she might be the Slayer. According to Mr. Giles, Buffy was never identified this way. She became the Slayer with no training beforehand.

Summers House:

Graham finds a letter inside the envelope.

"My name is Victoria Davis and I'm from Miami, Florida.  If you read this note, you're probably a policeman who's investigating a missing person case.  Lots of missing persons actually.  This morning a bunch of us are going off to a big fight at the high school to stop the ultimate evil.  You probably wouldn't believe the details, but you know it was a really big deal since the town is now abandoned.  If you find this note, I'm now dead and so is everyone else because we lost.  Or maybe it was a tie, because if the bad guys won, they've probably destroyed the town or something.  Just tell my mom and dad I'm dead and that I died a hero so they won't spend the rest of their lives waiting for me to come home. Thanks."

That's all the was in the envelope.

The Turok-Han in pursuit of Mike and Merry stops, his quarry now well out of range.  He turns back in the direction he came, seeing his fellow ubervamp fighting one lone human.  He heads back in that direction.

Re: Episode  1-2

Underground, other end:

Admittedly stakes weren't Daniel's go to choice for problem solving.  But it only ever took one encounter with a vampire to convince anyone to always keep one handy.  Landing a straight kick at the vamp's torso, Daniel takes the opportunity to pull out a stake.  Lucky for Daniel, the creature reels from his kick and steps back on a rock, landing on his back as he hurls a weak kick towards Daniel that misses.

Just then Daniel notices what's going on several yards down the tunnel:  One more Turok-Han has made it through the mob and down in the tunnel.  Wait, another one does.  And another. Three more Turok-Hans are down at the other end of the tunnel and coming his way.

Meanwhile, the Turok-Han who has given up on chasing Mike and Merry is turning around and coming Daniel's way.

OCC: Daniel now has one TH in front of him but on the ground, and three more coming his way, they have some ground to cover, he has three turns until they get to him.  He has two turns until the Turok-Han behind him makes it to him. If he wants to run the same way Mike went, he only has to get past the one coming back.

Re: Episode  1-2

Daniel was impulsive but not an idiot.  Fighting a losing number's game was not on the itinerary.  Keeping his stake firmly within his grasp he turned around without missing a beat began sprinting in the same direction the others went to find the straggler vamp.  Much rather wanting to deal with the super vamp in that direction than the four currently after his attention.

10:23, Today: Daniel Whitlock rolled 19 using 1d10+12. Woosh.

Summer's Residence

"I think I know where to look for the Slayer and the rest of her group," Graham said after reading the letter from the Davis girl.  He moved into the kitchen.  "It appears they all went to Sunnydale High School to take care of some 'ultimate evil.'  And at least one of them wasn't certain they would make it out alive."

At the last statement, he holds out the letter to Annabelle.  "I found a letter from Victoria Davis.  Sounds like some letters we used to write just before leaving on a mission with a good chance of not returning."

Underground:

Daniel runs like a speeding bullet, putting distance between himself and the four Turok-Hans behind him.

And also getting closer to the one Turok-Han who is rushing up to meet him.

Closer.....closer.........

OCC: Daniel and the one Turok-Han are about to be face to face.  If Daniel attacks, he will have initiative.

Annabelle washes the soap from her hands then drains the sink as she looks at the letter.

"I know what "Ultimate Evil" she's talking about.  The First Evil.  According to Mr. Giles, it is the evil that predates all other evil. It had a plot to wipe out the Slayer line by sending out its agents known as the Bringers to kill all the Potential Slayers like me, then it would finally kill the Slayer herself. The First has some other kind of agent..............but I can't seem to remember what that is at the moment.

Re: Episode  1-2

Momentum was a hell of a thing especially when getting right out of dodge.  The moment the Turok Han came into view Daniel leapt forward slamming the fist holding his stake down into the vamp's forehead with a superman punch. The creature growl in pain.  Upon landing he wouldn't wait to find out if contact was made going on the offensive would twist his body to so as to try and launch a roundhouse kick towards its jaw, but this time the ubervamp moved out of the way.  "Sorry no time to talk."  Obviously experienced in the trenches of a good scrap now and then he'd retract his limbs to guard himself after his initial flurry although stumbling slightly to get comfortable as the Turok-Han reached forward with both arms, grabbing Daniel by the neck.

OCC: Turok-Han has Daniel by the neck, and probably not to give him a kiss.  Daniel can try to break free with a strength doubled roll before the vamp makes his attack.  Daniel can still attack as well.

Re: Episode  1-2

Daniel wasn't a fan of any opportunity to get a first hand account of undead halitosis.  Even less so when it had friends nearing with every second from behind.  So one could imagine that having a pair of unfriendly arms wrapped around his neck wasn't the most comfortable sensation at the time.  With no time to waste Daniel didn't even consider protecting himself taking advantage of the vampire's other wise occupied arms, occupied grasping his neck mind you but still occupied, to send an elbow into its head.  Immediately swinging downwards afterwards driving the stake into the bloodsucker's heart. The vampire let's out a half growl, that is quickly cut off as he turns to dust.

Daniel doesn't have long to savor his victory as he turns back to see the undead's four buddies getting cloer.

OCC: One down, four getting closer.  Probably a good time to run.

Spotting the group of pursuers nearing Daniel would sigh.  "I like Star Wars as much as the next guy, but I think the New Hope gag is ridiculous."  Reminded of his share of Harrison Ford classics Daniel wouldn't sit around to exchange barbs with creatures that couldn't even mutter their own names.  Taking off in a full sprint his body would move with such grace that one would be hard pressed to prove he was ever in a fight.

Meanwhile, Mike takes Merry to the nearest tunnel that leads to the surface...and the sun. Once she's safe, he can afford to re-enter battle against the turok han. As long as they're in small groups, anyway.

Re: Episode  1-2

As Daniel bolts down the tunnel, the sound of Turok-Han growling echoes all the way back to him.  And it's getting louder. With a glance over his shoulder, he will see more of them have now squeezed through the trap door.  He can't make out the exact number, except it's a lot!

A shadowy form appears in front of Daniel, then as he gets closer, he realizes it's Mike on the way back to help.

OCC: Lots more Turok-Hans on the way.  The spot Michael left Merry at leads to a manhole cover that leads out onto the street which is covered in shade this time of day, so Michael can safely exit without burning up.

Annabelle grabbed the nearest dish towel and dried off her shoes.  "Come on lets get to the high school, I"m sure the Slayer and her friends have already won and we'll meet them on the way back."

She went into the living room and looked around for her jacket and backpack. Not seeing them she stepped outside to the front yard and waited for Graham to catch up.
