Episode 1-8

At the high school:

Pan the camera on the front entrance to the high school.  All is quiet.  Then you hear a growling, it gets louder and louder until......

Turok-Hans come pouring out the front doors.  Lots of them, no longer trapped by the
sun and they are looking for fresh blood.

At the city limits:

The heroes have just discovered that leaving Sunnydale is not an option thanks to an invisible forcefield wall.  Now they must find a safe place to hide before the Turok-Hans find them first.

Emilia chucked another stone at the forcefield working out the central point.

15:12, Today: Emilia Grey rolled 9 using 1d10. Inteligence roll.  (Intelligence is 4 so scored either a 13 or a 17 depending on if I would double it or not.)

"Ok lets see if we can work out what is making this thing and then see if we can get the heck out of dodge." She said pulling out a road map to work out the location of the center.

"Turok Han first. I can take them one or two at a time, but I need a chokepoint to take them down in numbers greater then that. We need to find somewhere with a lot of narrow hallways so they can't use their numbers. Back in the car! A house owned by someone good enough to keep me out would also do as a place to hide for you folks."

Just thoughts.

(OCC: how come's that first turok han was such a bad ass but the others fell like regular vampires, heck even Andrew managed to take out a couple!)

She looked in the wing mirror of the car and started to touch up her make-up, <purple>"If they are such bad asses why fight them, running away and keeping running away sounds like a good idea.",/purple>

Annabelle looks at the field, then back to Emilia.  "Unfortunately, they don't teach you about invulnerable force walls in Slayer school.  That book you have may hold a counterspell if the field is generated by magic.  But even then, we would almost certainly need magical ingredients of some sort. Our best course of action now is to find a safe haven until sunrise and possibly find a solution to escape.

She turns to the other three."Well, what's it going to be?  What is our best option for shelter?  A private residence does us no good, since the Turok-Hans aren't bound by the invitation rule, but Michael is. If we do that, the likely outcome is Emilia and I being mauled by Turok-Hans inside the house, while Michael remains outside unable to come in and save us.

"Army base, huh? Well, I suppose there are some kinds of explosives that would save us quite a bit of work. Particular thermal explosives, napalm, that kind of thing. Anything that burns would do us a great deal of good. Fire is one of the few things that'll get rid of Turok Han. And if they don't die right away, they can't regenerate fire damage quickly."

Best part about fire...it allows a war of attrition to be weighted more on the side of the heroes.

Several minutes later, both vehicles have made it to the army base without interference.

The good news is the base is on their side of the invisible wall.

The bad news is it has been closed down.  Big sign on the front noting it closed by the US military.  High fence with barbed wire on top, but doesn't appear to be electrified or have any other kind of trap.

Front gate is held shut by several yards on chains.  Someone with super strength may be able to break them.

OCC: That's the base I'm thinking of too Emilia.  The one we saw in season two where they got the rocket launcher to shoot at the Judge.

She said with a shrug, she doubted it, however the american military were know to be rather wasteful with their equipment, it's what you got when you took uneducated and gave them a gun. Her friend Hazza had told her that when he had been in Iraq his airborn had come across a whole camp abandoned, complete with blimp, supplies and american footballs and strange enough beer. He had told her that his platoon had enjoyed the rations they had left behind. The British rations sucked where as the americans got all the toys.

We procured the police vehicle shortly there afterwards, which is about the time you showed up.Annabelle continued, still walking though the base, looking for where the armory might be.

"I don't know the full range of their tracking ability, but with the town nearly empty, there aren't a lot of competing human scents interfering. She thought about it for a moment if there was a courtyard or a drilling square they could block it off fairly easily leaving one building for them to run into, the Ubervamps, ran at them they ran away and hid in the building and then Kabooom. Who ever said you couldn't save the world by running away had obviously never read any Terry Pratchet books, Rincwind constantly saved the world by running away and unlike most idiots who stayed and fought to the last man or a last stand he lived. Mike, with a certain smug look on his face, said, "That only counts when it's pumping."

He phrased that very carefully. While pumping, in this context, could mean a man who's excited...in this case, he means that for some men, and particularly one they both know...blood isn't pumping.

Also a warning that trick won't work on the Turok-Han, either.

How did he hear a whisper? Vampire hearing is that good.

"Well, I understand why they locked us in. The police chief must feel he shouldn't send his men in against a threat they had no chance of defeating. Better to let 'fugitives' meet their fate then risk cops he can't replace. That said, that argument wouldn't hold up in court, and he'd probably face prison time for that argument. Fortunately for him, there's no judge around I know of to enforce such a verdict."

It was cold, what the police chief did, but it was brutally practical. The entire police force combined could do practically nothing to Turok Han.

"I may wish to add to that sir," Emilia, chimed in, "Upon arrival in the town I attempted to surrender to the police when they opened fire!" She shrugged, "While from what I've seen in movies I understand American police are sometimes shoot first ask questions if the perps are alive, I would recommend that your troops are weapons hot just in case these guys try to go dirty harry on your men." She said with genuine concern. 'One of those army boys wasn't that bad looking if she lived through this I may try to get his number'

The lieutenant's face is unreadable.

Finally he says; "I'm going to go talk to the police.  I haven't made up my mind if I'm going to tell them I've seen you or not.  You four stay here.  Don't try to leave, sentrys are outside the door."

The lieutenant then gets up from behind his desk, taking his walkie talkie with him, and exits out the door leaving you four alone.

Emilia looked around, "Oh didn't even realise he had gone, to be honest I would rather be here than out there in the open, to be honest if the cops were as gun-ho as they were with us I could see this ending in a firefight, Military have the right to detain us over the police under the pretense of national security so if the general says he's handing us over to the cops then we just claim to be Osama, look I know he's dead but still it would give him the excuse to detain us for forty-eight hours by that time the cops will either have been killed by the Turo.... ubervamps, or we will all be dead, I'm assuming bullets have no affect on vampires?" Annabelle looked at Emilia then back to the lieutenant.  Maybe the truth was the best way to approach this.  Or maybe some of the truth.  Emilia's story was tame compared to all she had to tell.

"Well lieutenant, if you know about vampires you shouldn't be to surprised to know there are people who are dedicated to fighting them. They are called vampire slayers.  They are trained by a group called the watcher's council.  I was in training to become a vampire slayer. A lot of slayers in training came here to Sunnydale because there was a coordinated attack to kill us all by this group of............psychotic anarchists who want the vampires to win.

That should do.  She hopes.

Just then a voice comes over the lieutenant's walkie talkie.

"Sir, that guy who was wearing army green that showed up with that bunch just took off running out the front gate and down the street.  We were about to pursue in the jeep, then the police grabbed him, they were waiting down the road.  What are your orders? Over.

The lieutenant paused for about one second, then; "No let the police have him, he made the wrong move and it will cost him. Stay on guard. Over."

The lieutenant then looked at the four.  "Seems your friend didn't like it here and now the police have him.  Apparently they were waiting outside in case you left the protection of the base. Was he actually in the military? Or was?  Some kind of post combat trauma perhaps?"

They look like they're straight out of that old silent vampire movie, you known the one before Dracula. They're marching up slowly on foot. ETA five minutes. Over.

The lieutenant picks up the walkie talkie.  "Prepare to defend the base as per procedure.  I'll be right there. Over." he says standing up as he signs off.

This is a military base, he'd have to follow civilian rules on a military base. Just because he was more then he appeared to be didn't mean he wasn't going to follow the rules. Certain protocols had to be followed in here.

Moments later, Mike and Buffybot are in the base armory with the lieutenant and some other soldiers.

The lieutenant grabs two flamethrowers and passes one each to Mike and Buffybot.
"Ever see one of these before?  It's a military flamethrower, runs on incendiary gel.  Each one has ten burts before empty.  You point it and pull the trigger. Now listen up.  You two are NOT to engage the enemy or use these flamethrowers except to defend yourselves. Leave it to us, if this goes like we think it will, we'll destroy those vamps quickly.  The flamethrowers are not as easy to use as they may look.  One wrong move and you'll set the base on fire. Now let's get outside and get ready, I'll brief you on the way what the plan is.the lieutenant says as he grabs a flamethrower for himself and heads outside.

The lieutenant leads the duo outside, where the other soldiers are standing several yards from the front gate, ready for action.  "The vampires will come crashing through the gate any minute.  And run right into a patch of gasoline we've sprayed just inside the gate.  There's a single trail leading back to us.  Once they are standing in it, I'm going to light it and watch them go up in flames. The ones that survive that field of fire, will be taken out by us with out flamethrower rifles.  You two are to stand back here and don't engage the enemy unless you need to defend yourself.  Don't get cocky. The spell Emilia finds is entitled:Dust to Dust.

The spell effect involves getting a group of vampires (up to 10) in a mystic circle (diagram on how to draw circle in the book), you throw some special green sand at them and chant "Dust to Dust" in latin.  All the vampires in the circle turn to dust as if someone just put an invisible stake in their hearts.  Only works on vampires.

Here's the catch; the mystic circle must be drawn on the ground with the blood of a vampire.  But luckily you have an ensouled vampire who may be persuaded to make a donation.  The green sand can be found at most magic shops.

Spell power level: 4

Re: Episode 1 - 8

Outside at the front gate:

A mob of Turok-Hans are charging towards the front gate of the army base. The gate was secured, but it took them all of three seconds to break it down.

There are ten of them.  They move forward, towards the thin pool of gasoline waiting for them.  The soldiers wait on the other side of the pool, waiting to spring the trap and then pick off the survivors.  Mike and Buffybot stand a few feet behind the soldiers, watching all this.

The Turok-Hans approach the pool of gasoline.  Then suddenly they stop. And sniff.

And then five break to the left and five break to the right, circling around the deadly pool and coming towards the soldiers. And Mike and Buffybot. Looks like they somehow figured out the dangers of flammable liquids.  This mission just got harder.

To be continued.
