Re: Episode 1 - 8

"Well we had better scout out the base, Oi Clockwork Soldier boy!" She called over to Graham, "You know how bases are laid out you look around for fuel, weapons, anything that goes boom. She glanced across at the Buffy bot, er.... clockwork slayer why not get up high get us a good lay out of this base, see if there is a strategic bottleneck we can use, as for bait sweetie that's not a problem hun, it's you and me darling." She thought about it for a moment if there was a courtyard or a drilling square they could block it off fairly easily leaving one building for them to run into, the Ubervamps, ran at them they ran away and hid in the building and then Kabooom. Who ever said you couldn't save the world by running away had obviously never read any Terry Pratchet books, Rincwind constantly saved the world by running away and unlike most idiots who stayed and fought to the last man or a last stand he lived. 'Well if they are attracted by the scent of human or more precisely blood once we are ready we give ourselves a little nick and lead a trail of blood for them to follow. Unsure how their noses work but I hope the smell of a little blood will over power the smell of petrol."

"Hold it right there!"

The group freezes at the sound of the voice that shouted behind them.

"Turn around slowly, and no false moves!"

They all turn around slowly and see two soldiers pointing rifles at them on this seemingly deserted army base.

"Just what do you nimrods think you're doing here?!"says one of them.

One of the army guys takes one stop closer to Buffybot, pointing his gun in the direction of ther chest.

"We're army sentries guarding this army base.  We're supposed to be here.  You did notice this is an army base you illegally broke into didn't you? You kids on drugs?  Or are you terrorists?

Re: Episode 1 - 8

"Actually, we're running from a bunch of kids on drugs. PCP, I think...one of those weird gangs. Ya know. Since this is a military base, we figured we might find some help here. Also, I don't know if you guys have tried to leave Sunnydale lately...but you might just find it's difficult to leave city limits. Not sure what's going on...might be some kind of government containment unit out there we don't know about."

Government containment unit? Well, it's better then telling army personnel 'magical forcefield.' More believable, at any rate.

(OOC:Dunno if there's a roll for this sort of diplomacy)

Re: Episode 1 - 8

Emilia turned on her smile, this was normal men, and she would easily be able to handle them she hoped. She flicked her hair with a practiced grace, "Oh thank god your here!" She started out to throw them off guard, "Some real protectors!" She smiled sweetly taking note of the ranks, she turned to the most senior officer, "As my rather disheveled and crass companion here stated we are on the run from what appears to be an outbreak of mass hysteria, the town of Sunnydale seems to have gone insane, since I arrived not six hours ago we have been attacked by two groups of gangs, I'm not sure what PCP is, but what ever it is it is making the entire town insane, personally I think something got in the water supply, you boys are on your own water rations right?" She said with mock suspicion. "Anyway we figured the only safe place would be a USA military army base filled with patriotic defenders, imagine our horror when we came here and through it was abandoned, however as I started by saying it's only by the grace of Jesus Christ you are here." She batted her eyelids twice then flashed a slightly coy smile to the junior soldier, 'Should have these two pretty charmed' she thought to herself, "Do you fine strong men have a senior officer on the base, probably lounging around while you two do all the hard work of defending this base?" She asked. 'If i had known I was going to be having to charm men at the hospital I would have worn my LBN and FMB's, She thought to herself

"Yeah............you folks, just follow us this way."said the other one.  "And between us miss, you are right we do all the work around here.  But you didn't hear that from me."he says to Emiila.

The two soldiers lower their weapons, and motion the group to follow them.

"Good show.  You missed your real destiny Emilia, you should have been on the stage."Annabelle whispered to Emilia, close enough for only the two of them to hear.

"Although we may have to alter the story a bit if we want access to their petrol and other Turok-Han destroying supplies.

"It's the same everywhere honey." She said to the soldier, "You do all the work and the brass take all the brass." She said with a smile, "But don't worry your secret is safe with me, I'll take it to the grave." Which maybe in less than an hour if we can't mount these soldiers into some sort of proper defensive pattern. As she started to follow them, "I'm Emilia by the way, what's your name?" she asked.

She turned and did a side whisper to Annabelle, "Men are easy sweetie, they were given two organs and only enough blood for one, and the one in their trousers normally has the deciding vote." She said quietly, "A low cut top and a high hemline and you can get almost anything you want."

Re: Episode 1 - 8

Mike, with a certain smug look on his face, said, "That only counts when it's pumping."

He phrased that very carefully. While pumping, in this context, could mean a man who's excited...in this case, he means that for some men, and particularly one they both know...blood isn't pumping.

Also a warning that trick won't work on the Turok-Han, either.

How did he hear a whisper? Vampire hearing is that good.

"I'm Private Dan Troy miss, just follow us and we'll take you to Lieutenant Williams who is in command here."the lower ranked officer said to Emilia.

A few moments later, they were all inside a building, the two army sentrys were inside the lietenants office while you five are waiting outside in the hall.

A moment later the two sentrys come out.  "The lieutenant will see you now."one says.

You five enter his office while the two sentrys remain outside, Lieutenant Williams is sitting at his desk.  "Well, my two men tell me that you kids are in some kind of trouble and that said trouble might be coming our way.  Why don't you tell me what's going on here?"the lieutenant says looking back and forth between the five.

Re: Episode 1 - 8

Mike decides to answer that one...in the way police normally do.

"There's a huge gang set up at the school. One of those gangs on PCP...about 45 of 'em or so. Their faces get all weird...anyway, they'll probably be coming sooner or later. We'll need to be prepared for the incursion. And since the only safe places from a gang that size are the police station and a military base...well you were closer."

Very carefully avoiding mention of supernatural occurances...these military guys probably aren't in the know. Let them deal with what they understand...

Lieutenant Williams leaned back in his chair and stared at Mike for a moment, then looked back and forth to the other four.

Finally he said; "Why don't you kids cut out with this gangs on PCP nonsense and tell me that vampires are after you."

And he said it with a straight face.

Mike smiled, then. Apparently, these guys were in the know.

"You didn't exactly have an 'in the know' sign over your head. Couldn't tell it like it was till you said something. Anyways, it's not just vampires, it's Turok-Han. They're stronger then normal vampires, but also more feral. In addition, there's some kind of magical forcefield containing people in town, so we can't exactly leave. There's a little over 40 of them left, like I said."

"Have a seat." the lieutenant said indicating the empty chairs on the other side of the desk.  After giving everyone a chance to sit down, he continues.

"This base has been closed down.  Only a small security force commanded by me remains.  There are only ten of us on duty tonight. We are aware that Sunnydale is not like other localities.  We are also aware of the forcefield, we discovered it a couple of hours ago.  We're getting tired of army chow here, so I told two of the boys to jump in a jeep and keep going until they found a Mcdonald's.  That's when they discovered the field and reported back.

He leans forward looking closer at the group.  "Now tell me more about these....what did you call them? The vampires that are stronger and meaner than "normal" vampires.

"Turok-Hans.  That's what they are called, also known as ubervamps."
Annabelle said to the lieutenant.

"They are the vampires other vampires fear.  They are stronger, faster, and nearly mindless. They have no earthly wants except to hunt and kill their prey.  Until recently they were thought to be a myth.  But they are here I assure. you."

She pauses, letting this sink in, then continues;"They are easily identifiable.  Pale white skin, pointed ears, and no ability to speak.  They just growl.  They are not invincible by any means, but harder to destroy than a non-ubervamp variety.  And some are more powerful than others.

She turned to her four allies. "I fear we haven't seen the worst the Turok-Hans have to offer.  When I first arrived in Sunnydale, the Slayer herself encountered a single Turok-Han and failed to slay it.  Let me repeat that, the Slayer failed to slay a single Turok-Han.  If even one of that power level is still out there, it may well kill us all."

Mike nodded at that description.

"Turok Han are like every other kind of vampire that way. Some of them are infinitely stronger then others. In general, it's a function of age. The older it is, the stronger it is. The one that gave the Slayer a rough time must've been very old indeed."

Graham excuses himself to go to the bathroom.

Meanwhile the lieutenant listens to Annabelle and Mike's description of the Turok-Hans, before he can answer his walkie-talkie radio makes a noise.

"Sir, we've got two police officers here who entered at the front gate saying they are looking for some fugitives.  And they believe the fugitives are on this base right now since their  two vehicles are right here inside the gate. Request instructions, over.

The lieutenant paused, then said.  "Tell the officers I'll be out there to talk to them in a few moments, over."

Then he gave the four his best no nonsense look.  "It seems the police are looking for you kids.  Care to tell me why?"

Mike says, "Our efforts to destroy the Turok-Han weren't exactly legal. One of the ideas...well. we thought the town was abandoned, so we were going to burn the school down during the day, sealing off the exits to the underground...those Turok Han that survived the fire would not survive the sun. The police kind of surprised by still being in town, when nobody else was."

The blunt truth of it...

Annabelle leaned forward.  "He left out the part where the police locked us inside the school with the Turok-Han, rather than take us into custody. These so-called police are either, corrupt, incompetent, or possessed.  Perhaps all of the above.

She tried her best to look calm, and not like she was about to run for it.  They couldn't let the "police" take them, it would be the death of them all.

"Well, I understand why they locked us in. The police chief must feel he shouldn't send his men in against a threat they had no chance of defeating. Better to let 'fugitives' meet their fate then risk cops he can't replace. That said, that argument wouldn't hold up in court, and he'd probably face prison time for that argument. Fortunately for him, there's no judge around I know of to enforce such a verdict."

It was cold, what the police chief did, but it was brutally practical. The entire police force combined could do practically nothing to Turok Han.

"I may wish to add to that sir," Emilia, chimed in, "Upon arrival in the town I attempted to surrender to the police when they opened fire!" She shrugged, "While from what I've seen in movies I understand American police are sometimes shoot first ask questions if the perps are alive, I would recommend that your troops are weapons hot just in case these guys try to go dirty harry on your men." She said with genuine concern. 'One of those army boys wasn't that bad looking if she lived through this I may try to get his number'

The lieutenant's face is unreadable.

Finally he says; "I'm going to go talk to the police.  I haven't made up my mind if I'm going to tell them I've seen you or not.  You four stay here.  Don't try to leave, sentrys are outside the door."

The lieutenant then gets up from behind his desk, taking his walkie talkie with him, and exits out the door leaving you four alone.
