Re: Episode 1-9

But the lieutenant wasn't having any.  "We can take care of it!  You girls get back to my office!! MOVE IT!!"

Half an hour later, the injured soldiers are in the infirmary, the dead are in bodybags, the fire is still going, and the lieutenant is now back in his office with the foursome.

"I suggest you four stay here tonight.  I can't force you to if you want to leave. Actually I can, I can hold you on suspicion of being terrorists, but I don't operate that way. Here's the situation.  We can't leave Sunnydale as long as this invisible dome is up.  We can't communicate with the outside world, however communications in city limits seem to be normal. That's what I know.  If you know something useful, speak up.

He looks over at Emilia and Annabelle. "If I could, I would put you two on a plane back home, send you back to that ass-backwards country that still has a queen.  Children do not belong in a war zone."

Re: Episode 1-9

Mike shakes his head.

"It makes sense to stay with proven allies who know what's going on. I only wish I could've saved more of your men. There were good people."

Alas, even he has limits, and while he saved some...it wasn't all.

Annabelle smacked her fist into her hand making a loud cracking noise and suddenly stands up from her seat.  "We are not children!!  And the only reason you bloody yanks have a country at all is because we decided to colonize this side of the world!! You're welcome!!

She storms towards the door.  "Come on Emilia, we're leaving!"

Mike shook his head, and said, "Hold it RIGHT there, you two. Remember what happened to Graham when he tried to leave the base? He got arrested on the spot. Unless you two want to meet the same fate, you really shouldn't leave. And of course, getting arrested is the best case scenario. If Turok Han find you before the police do, you'll wish you had been arrested."

Annabelle narrowed her eyes at Mike, she paused just a second as you could almost see the gears turning in her mind."We have a plan thank you.  Emilia discovered a magic spell for exterminating vampires in her book.  But it requires a certain magic powder, so we are going foraging for supplies.  The police will be no bother, once the Turok-Hans appeared, they vacated the area with all due haste."

We also have two grenades and a flare gun in Emilia's bag, but they don't need to know that.she thought to herself as she headed for the door. "How about it Emilia?  Want to go hunting for some magic powder? I'll let you drive the police car."

Re: Episode 1-9

At that moment, the lieutenant's phone rings.  "Lieutenant Williams.  Put them through.  This is Lieutenant Wiliams, office in charge of the Sunnydale army base.  Just a minute please."

The lieutenant hits the mute button on the phone then looks at Annabelle and Emilia.  "You girls wait outside.  This doesn't concern you.  And don't run off anywhere!  That's an order!!" The lieutenant waits for the two girls to leave before continuing the call.

Annabelle grabs Emilia's wrist and pulls her outside without word to anyone.

Once they are in the hall and alone with the office door shut; "That's an order eh?  It goes without saying I don't recognize his authority over us.  Do you concur Emilia?  Shall we proceed with our magical supply procurement?"

Annabelle leads Emilia out of the building towards the spot where they left the police cruiser.

"Mr. Giles said they were several magic supply stores in Sunnydale, in fact he used to own one.  All we really need is a phone directory, then head to the closest one to us."

Satisfied the girls are out of hearing range, the lieutenant continues the call.

"Now where were we?.........what can I do for you?.......and you want to do what?..........I see...........yes I have four civilians here, but two are minors, and not United States citizens, I don't want to involve them..............Yes that does make a lot of sense...........Let me confer with my two guests here, I'll call you back in a few minutes.

He hangs up the phone.  "That was the Sunnydale chief of police.  He apologizes for the overzealous actions of his officers against you.  If they are even on the force, he suspects there are some imposter police officers about town.  He would like for the three of us to join him at the station and compare notes, and form a plan to either escape the dome or survive until it drops."

Up at the front of the base:

Emilia and Annabelle make it to the police car with no problem. The remaining solidiers are tending to the wounded.  The gates remain down, right where the Turok-Han mob knocked them.

They climb into the car, keys are under the seat.

Mike shook his head.

"Color me not surprised. They were WAY too eager to use lethal force to be real cops. Sounds reasonable enough...except for one thing. How do we know the chief of police isn't an imposter himself? It may be better to meet him here, on your turf. After all, he has several of our friends in custody...or does he? You might want to ask him about that. If I recall correctly, he should have several teenagers in custody on grounds of trying to burn a school down. Including Graham, who you saw run off earlier."

Ridiculous, but it's worth double checking.

In the office:

The lieutenant gets back on the phone.  "This is Lieutenant Williams again chief.  I'm afraid I can't meet you right now, we've got wounded at the base that need to be tended to........................What' that?  You can come here.  That would be excellent.  Also, have you made any arrests in the last 24 hours?  My civilian colleagues referred to some of their friends being arrested by the police.......................Yes it does appear you have imposter policemen in Sunnydale........Alright, we'll be waiting for you.

He hangs up the phone and looks at Mike.  "He's on the way here.  And he says his department has made no arrests in the last 24 hours."

"When I first arrived in Sunnydale, I saw one and asked Mr. Giles what it was.  He told me that was a public phone.  I said 'no really, what is it?' But he said that was what passed for a public phone on this side of the Atlantic.

Inside the lieutenant's office:

Before anyone can say another word, there is a loud, but erratic knock at the door.
The lieutenant gets up from his desk to answer it.

As he opens the door, one of his men spills into the room and hits to the floor.  There is a large blood stain on his chest.

"Sir..........we got...........they did.........uhhhhhhhhhhh.........................."

That's all the solider gets out, because he is now dead.

"Stay with me son!  Stay with me!  Noooo!!!! He's gone." The lieutenant then examines the body.  "This looks like a large knife wound. What is coming after us now?!"

Mike wasn't the only one that was wincing. Buffybot although that she came late to the game. Her processors were going a mile a minute. Unfortunately she wasn't privy to the knowledge of what happen before she met the group. Still something didn't seem or want to click. The LT had his own problems and stumbling into a group of so-called 'kids' and that's putting it mildly to say the least. "The buzzword suggestsis something that if I were you would take into concideration. We'll know for sure if he's the real thing. If Graham really didn't make it we'll soon know one way or the other. With the now deceased soldier on the ground she looks back over that Mike and then the LT. "whoever or whatever did this we need to take care of it and a.s.a.p!"

Re: Episode 1-9

Mike smelled the bloodstain before the man even knocked on the door. It wasn't the blood that surprised him, it was the fact it was inflicted by a knife instead of by fangs. Clearly, they have some other enemies here...

"Vampires don't use knives, generally. I'd say we've got something else on our hands. I'll take point."

Why? Well, if something stabs Mike, he'll survive the experience. If something stabs the Buffybot, she'd most likely survive the experience too. But the humans around them? That's not so sure a thing.

He nodded at the bot, and said, "Let's go. We've gotta clear out hostiles...which could very well be our rogue cops."

"Wait!!!"the lieutenant shouts as they are about to leave.

He goes to his desk and looks in the drawer, producing another walkie talkie and passes it to Mike.  "Stay in touch son.  I'll stay here and see who I can contact on mine.  And find those two Scottish girls, hopefully they're hiding in the women's restroom down the hall.

On the streets of Sunnydale:

It doesn't take the girls long to find a public phone.  A quick look at the yellow pages finds them a magic supply store, The Grand Magic Shop.

It takes them five more minutes to get there.  They find the door locked and the windows intact, it hasn't been vandalized so far.

"We know it hasn't been looted.  Now we have to find a way in."

Annabelle looks around on the ground, picking up the nearest rock that will fit nicely into her fist.  She walks up to the door, taking aim at the part of the window, which when smashed will allow her to reach inside and unlock the door.

"If an alarm goes off we'll have to get inside fast and turn it off.  The last thing we need is the noise drawing any Turok-Hans to us."she says to Emilia as she reaches her arm back and hurls the rock at the glass.

Annabelle Berkshire rolled 12 using 1d10+7. rock toss.

Re: Episode 1-9

Mike takes the communicator, nodded to the Bot, and said, "Let's go."

Mike proceeded to take point...he had an easier time healing then the bot did, after all. He thinks, anyway. And it was time to go looking for stab victims. Hopefully, his nose trained on blood would lead the way. At least lead the way the soldier took when he ran in here.
