Episode 2-5

The back door to The Fish Tank opens quietly, no effort needed to get in since it was unlocked.
Annabelle, Mike, and Buffy enter and make their way to the main bar area.

No one is there but the three of them.

The lingering stench of alcohol mixed with blood mixed with harsh body odor is overwhelming.

Most people that went to The Fish Tank did three things:

1) Drink a lot.
2) Get into fights a lot.
3) Not bathe regularly.

Mike feels dizzy for a moment.  The downside to having a superior sense of smell is unpleasant scents like these hit him harder.  Curiously Mike picks up no lingering scent of vampires or demons, indicating The Fish Tank is/was a mostly human hangout.

The "decor" of The Fish Tank indicates that housekeeping was not a top priority for the owners.  Calling it rundown would be an insult to legitimate rundown places. The health department in Sunnydale must have been getting some kind of payoff for The Fish Tank to stay in business for so long.

All the furniture is still here and there is a backroom with two cots.  No food and no alcohol though, the owners packed all that up when they evacuated.

Re: Episode 2-5

Annabelle recoils as if she had been attacked by a skunk once she makes it to the center of The Fish Tank.

"Oh my God! Who or what died in here!  We can't stay here!  This is beneath my dignity! This is beneath a homeless person's dignity!  I feel like I need a tetanus shot just looking at it!  It's beyond dreadful!  It's.........it's...........it's perfect.

Annabelle's expression of horror softens as you can almost see the gears turning in her brain.

"Yes, it's perfect.  No one would think  to look for us here in a hundred years."

Re: Episode 2-5

Mike chuckled, "I figured you'd "like" it. But then, it was called the Fish Tank. Presumably because it smells like dead fish. Lots of them."

Even Mike's nose is offended, and like most vampires, he occasionally has to go through sewers.

Re: Episode 2-5

""The first thing I'll attend to is assessing my newly acquired power."

Annabelle walked over to the nearest table and lifted it over her head with minimal effort.  Setting the table down, she walked to the other side of the room, then proceeded to do multiple somersaults across the room that would make an olympic gymnast green with envy.

"There is no doubt, I am the Slayer now.  My power level is commiserate with that of a new Slayer.  But I don't understand the sudden power boost I received in the beginning.  My watcher never explained anything like that.

Re: Episode 2-5

Mike thought about it...

"Well, we could spar until you understand your current limits. It's important to know what your full power is...and when to ask for help. Equally important to know when you don't need it. As for the powerboost you started with...no idea. I haven't been around long enough to see a Slayer infused. And you're sadly lacking a Watcher at the moment."

Re: Episode 2-5

"You're not wrong about that."Annabelle said, wishing a watcher was here to explain it all.

"Sparring to test my abilities sounds like a peachy idea.Annabelle said pondering for a moment.

"But I think now might be a good time to procure supplies.  If twenty vampire policemen are at the scene of the secret base right now, then that's twenty less of them out on the streets looking for us. You're going to need blood and I'm going to need food if we're going to stay here for a while.

Mike agreed.

"Right. I don't...want to get hungry when it's just us in here."

After all, it doesn't take much math to figure out there's only one source of blood in the room...and that's not a good idea. At all.

Re: Episode 2-5

"Neither do I."Annabelle said making sure the cross around her neck was clearly exposed lest Michael give in to temptation.

He may be an ensouled vampire, but putting human blood in front of him was like putting a six pack in front of a recovering alcoholic.

"Perhaps in this case, splitting up may be wise.  I'll proceed to the local market and grab as much food I can fit into one shopping cart and come back here. Meanwhile, Michael you can go about procuring your blood supply. Buffybot can stay here and guard our new sanctuary, lest a vampire or two wanders in and tries to squat here.

"Alright I can do that......Be on your guard Annabelle." However Buffybot is feeling a bit more distracted she begins to think back to the time that Sunnydale PD hid them in the now comprimised safehouse. She shook her head. She got questions......

Re: Episode 2-5

Mike, not wanting to get too hungry with only one source of blood around, proceeded to leave in search of blood stores to claim. Sometimes he wondered if that was the enemy strategy. Take blood supplies away until hunger killed Annabelle.

He wouldn't let that happen...

Re: Episode 2-5

Annabelle headed for the nearest supermarket, grabbed a cart, and headed for fruits and vegetables section.  After loading up quite a variety, she headed for the coffee and tea aisle and grabbed the imitation British tea before heading for the frozen food section.

She was making good time, Slayer speed certainly came in handy.

"Vegetarian pizza.  Lovely.  Save me the trouble of scraping off the meat."she said out loud as she grabbed a stack of pizzas and then grabbed anything of a vegetarian nature she could find.

Streets of Sunnydale:

Mike finds a blood bank after leaving The Fish Tank, saving him the trouble of going back to the hospital.  He breaks open the door lock with minimal effort and finds enough blood bags still here to last him a week.

Once he recovered the resources, he was quick to return with them. After all, he knew what he was carrying, and he didn't want another fight over the food with his erstwhile brethren.

Re: Episode 2-5

Somewhere between the blood bank and The Fish Tank:

Despite his best intentions to avoid a fight over blood, some vamps have other ideas. Mike is on his way back to The Fish Tank when suddenly a vampire springs from the alleyway.  Not a vamp cop or Turok-Han, just a run of the mill vamp."Hey!  You just came from the blood bank didn't you?!  I was on the way there!  That's my blood! Give to me!"

The lone vamp moves to attack Mike.

At the supermarket:

Annabelle has just finished her shopping and is on the way out with the cart when one lone vampire intercepts her at the door.

"Ha!  I knew some human might come in here scavenging for food!  This is my lucky day!"  he said, is he moved towards Annabelle, aiming to drink her blood.

At The Fish Tank:

Buffybot is alone  at The Fish Tank when she hears the sound of the front door lock breaking and one lone vamp (not a vamp cop, I said they wouldn't find you soon) wanders in.  "Maybe they left some booze behind, there's a shortage of fresh blood lately."he said  talking to himself until he noticed he was not alone.

"Spoke to soon! Fresh blood after all!  Come here!  Scream if you like!" he said moving towards Buffybot.

OCC: To the combat thread, three different fights going on.  Each of you is fighting one vamp.  All vamps are "regular" vamps, no vamp cops or Turok-Hans.

Re: Episode 2-5

At the supermarket:

Annabelle almost smiled.  Almost.  Poor undead fool.  He thought he would have an easy victim, but instead he just met the Slayer. What a golden opportunity to test her new power.

Annabelle charged towards the vampire aiming a punch followed by a kick at the undead creature and missed him entirely.  The vamp retaliated with a kick to Annabelle's head that missed as well.

"Not bad girl.  I figured you would start screaming.  I like a challenge." said the vampire.

OCC: Back to the combat thread for Annabelle.  No damage to either side.

Between the blood bank and The Fish Tank

08:26, Today: Michael Smith rolled 23 using 1d10+13. Defense sequence.

08:26, Today: Michael Smith rolled 13 using 1d10+12. Those kicks were fast as lightning.

Mike decided to test his opponent's skill. Even though he possessed a virtually unbreakable guard, his kick is mostly a testing move, to see if his opponent is remotely competent or not. One never knew with vampires, as age was ultimately what mattered most.

"Get your own. Besides, I thought you'd prefer it fresh."

WHAM WHAM! Both of Mike's kicks connected with his enemy's midsection. The other vampire had left himself totally open to attack for that move.  The vampire then lunged a punch at Mike who easily dodged it.

"Hey!  I recognized you!  You're Michael Smith!  The guy that goes around grabbing other vamps and tossing them around!  You're not supposed to kick people!  I didn't see that coming! Stick to your routine man!

OCC: Back to the combat thread.  No damage to Mike this round.

Re: Episode 2-5

At the supermarket:

"So you want a challenge do you?!  You'll soon have more of a challenge than you've ever imagined, because now you face the Slayer!" Annabelle said as she nailed a sweep kick on the vamp, taking him off his feet, then she nailed him with a punch to his face.

Between the blood bank and The Fish Tank:

Mike chuckled.

"Unfortunately for you, I feel creative tonight."

He launched a sweep kick that sent his opponent to the ground, and then used a circle kick as more of an axe kick to kick him in the head once downed. WHAM!

"Owwwwww!  What's with all those awesome kicks  man?  Chuck Norris your teacher or something?!"

OCC: Back to the combat thread for both Annabelle and Mike.  Both vamps down on the ground.

Re: Episode 2-5

At the supermarket:

Seeing no need to prolong things, Annabelle aimed her stake at the heart of downed vamp and thrust it downward.

"I'll just bet you've thought twice about wanting a challenge you poor fool!"

It wasn't Annabelle's best stake attempt ever, but it was enough to do the job as her stake plunged into the undead's heart and he exploded to dust, leaving her free to leave with her food supply.

OCC: This fight's over.  Back to the main thread for Annabelle. Mike's fight is still going on.
