" My apologies Ma'am. the discretely armed Greeter stepped out of the way the pocket stunner she carried seeming to be the furthest thing from her mind the stink of raw fear filling the air as she stood helpless to stop hi is she had ten armed security goons to back her up.

Perhaps madame would be more comfortable dining in her quarters. The head hostes looked up with a perfectly polie smile and a too sincere tone to her voice." However we have a delightful ante pasta to begin with and the wine of the house is B'na Trevo 37 if you would care to have a seat I'll see to it your waitress is right with you.

I think Madam would enjoy table 7 perhaps you would enjoy the company of our dignitaries...I know they will be positively delighted to share their table with you"
The womans smile was one of pure predatory glee as she motioned toward the table and the frightened young woman standing by it serving V'nari and the men.

Re: CSV: K'sa Vra: Passenger Lounge ( IC chat)
Skrugg's amusement rumbled in his chest, even as he approaches the hostess - straightening up from his knuckle first stance, spine curling as he rises to his full twelve foot height. Nostrils flare beneath the 'traditional' leather cap that covers the upper half of his scaled face. Originally, it was just to keep the flies out of one's eyes while one tore apart some wild game or other with mates. It was about as close to traditional as the Grunt could think of. Yellow eyes squint, vertical pupils dialating slightly as he turns his head to get a good look at the Hostess.

After a thoughtful pause, and rumbles. "Get me meat. Something that screams and wriggles. One of the vermin I've been smelling in the vents'll do fine, just stab it to a block or something" If the woman was so keen to take orders, Skrugg wouldn't deny her. The muscles on his neck jump and flex as he cranes his head around to peer towards the 'dignified' table, and grunt his acknowledgement to the idea. Lowering the bulk of his body once more upon his fore-arms, the grunt begins to knuckle his way across the room, wide shoulders rolling. Despite his size, he manages not to knock down or smash anything - more out of convienance than actual concern.

Re: CSV: K'sa Vra: Passenger Lounge ( IC chat)
It was a definable surprise for Beowulf to find the Tlazolteotl aboard.  It wasn't so hostile a reaction as one might expect from one who had been in skirmishes... or in the view of the Tlazolteotl- meals... against the species from time to time.  The metalic-fog bracer glittered more with the cyan light that flowed through it for several moments before settling down.  A typical member of the species would have come in through a violation of the hull... so this wasn't typical.  Also... it wasn't eating anyone right now.

It seemed the Tlazolteotl had a similar capacity to shift characteristics as other races... but with the uncomfortable posture of those it spoke to... Beo was willing to suggest that perhaps the Tlazolteotl was merely abraisive as opposed to borderline insane.

Beowulf inquired on their earlier topic of conversation, "It is unheard of for Humans to promote status of those who have served in valued capacities?  It takes some generations among the Niorii, and so it is uncommon, but I couldn't call it rare."

V'nari smiled as the Tlazolteotl approached the dinner table.

"I think you'll find that at the end of the process, the surviving princess has more than adequate skills for the position of Empress." she raised a wine glass to the Tlaz as she continued to speak "As you can see one must learn to cope with all kinds of interesting and new situations. Other humans elect leaders based on popularity, which to an extent may include those who have served in valued positions, but does not include it as a prerequisite. My own particular faction has one leader who earns her way to the position."

Re: CSV: K'sa Vra: Passenger Lounge ( IC chat)
The Grunt craned his neck down again, a strangely serpentine motion as he tilted his head to the side to fix the waitress with a single yellow eye. There is a moment's consideration, before that deep rumble that might well be a chuckle comes from somewhere deep in the chest.

"I'll just find something.. small.. to gnaw on. Later."
He straightens back up to his hunched forward state, and grumbles. "Bloody, then, if you're going to bring dead meat." Having said his peace, the big beast 'joins' the dignified table by way of simply shoving the nearest empty seat aside and squatting down. Massive fist clanking the table as it moves clumsily along, hunting for dishes filled with food he can smell. Hard to see it when it wasn't moving. A yellow eye swinging aside to take in the other 'guests' at the 'dignified' table. And pausing to focus on the female that tilted a drink towards him. He could tell it was female, because it had those udders hanging off the front.

"What do you want?" He asks, brusque. But, then again, considering most Tlazolteotl manners include talking to a person during consumption or enslavement - or both - that was downright curteous.

V'nari tilted her head to one side as if assessing Skrugg. "What I want, I take. What I would like, however, is a pleasant evening of discussion and conversation. I suspect you here to do the same. You are here to enjoy others company and hear interesting points of view....otherwise you would isolate yourself from others in your room. Would you care to join us? If not, I'm sure there are no other tables that would welcome your presence and you would find yourself alone once more."

Re: CSV: K'sa Vra: Passenger Lounge ( IC chat)
The Grunt considers V'nari with that yellow eye for a moment, thoughtfully working his daggered teeth along the edge of the equivalent of a space-age fork. After a moment, the fork is dropped to ding against the table top as his head sways to bring his other eye to bear.

"You have a lot of thoughts to fit into a small head." He comments, before that eye rolls between the table top and the Ambassador, giving the occasional glance at the other 'diners' as well. That massive hand feeling along the table again, causing dishes to clatter. "Smell food, eat food. Why are you talking when you eat?"

It was another one of those mysteries of the 'softer' races. Like they were afraid of silence, constantly filling the air with chatter. Like birds singing. Maybe it had to do with evolution. Silence meant one of their ancestors got eaten.

"Talking is a means of communication. It is the expression of thoughts and ideas and perceptions that makes us strong." She raised an eyebrow before raising her glass of wine "Now take this wine as an example. I have tasted it. It is not a wine grown where I grew up, however, it is a delight. Now my expression of delight in tasting it may amount to nothing, on the other hand, perhaps nearby there might be a merchant that will take note of it and buy some for cargo to import to my area of space to make a profit....or perhaps someone can recommend a similar wine with a richer taste. In any case, if I remain silent, I learn nothing more about those who I share the table with. By talking I learn more about each person, their thoughts and beliefs and ways in which we might co-operate or complement each other, or a new way of thinking. Talking enriches us all, most especially at the table as we enjoy food and feel comfortable and relaxed."

"Herds."

States the Grunt, reaching some internal conclusion and summing up the entire experience that V'nari put forth. Finding something else interesting with his thick hand, he picks it up and taps it against his dagger teeth, feeling his way along it with 'gentle' bites. The wineglass quietly creaks and chimes with each testing bite. After a moment, this too is disgarded to the table, but luckily does not break. That thick paw reaching up to scratch at the natural armor along the neck, Skrugg turning his thick flesh towards the sensation.

"Follow someone else's experience. Know what another will do, which way they'll run when the killing starts." He flashes those sharp teeth again, that deep rumble emerging from his chest again: Humor.

"Herds." He repeats, as if the word were particularly amusing. Having finished scratching, he turns to picking at those sharp teeth, his words even further muffled by the intruding digit. "You are comfortable when things are being devoured?"

Re: CSV: K'sa Vra: Passenger Lounge ( IC chat)
Beowulf found the use of the word 'devoured' a pleasant reprieve from the typically simplistic language of the race... it wasn't screaming, it wasn't eating something sentient.  Though unnamed as yet, Skrugg was the most amiable representative of its species Beowulf had yet met.  He had no shame in the presumption of the lot of them being only slightly more intelligent than other animals, but not wholly sentient despite a capacity for communication.

Nanites were a condiment among the Niorii and while it might be rude to focus on such matters, Beowulf understood somewhat the instinct to explore unfamiliar environment, "...For instance, I'm reminded of my first assignment among humans, by your apparent discomfort among them now.  It felt very... ornamental to me.  It still does, but I've come to understand that most humans do their computational processes on their outsides, with machines that nearly any of them may intigrate to some degree.

As for devouring things... a certain amount of such is typical for maintaining any animal.  Most individuals of the galactic council races accept this well, though some individuals believe that the materials consumed and timing of such, should be regulated.

Re: CSV: K'sa Vra: Passenger Lounge ( IC chat)
The giant's head cranes around again, seeking the source of the new voice, and finally fixes Beowulf with that yellow eye. Seeming to size the glittery, tattooed creature up, before he grins.

Well, peels his scaled lips away from daggered teeth. It's hard to place humanoid expressions on a face designed to rip, tear, and crush. "Not discomfort. Hungry." He states, quite simply. Before straightening up to his full height once more, neck curving as his forearms leave the ground as well, tree-trunk thick. "FOOD." He bellows, to be certain that such things are on the way. After all, appetite was appetite. One meal was as good as another, and he's been fairly good about avoiding the temptation. He'd read somewhere that, in the softer races, you were supposed to treat servants as equals.

He didn't think the little Tau waitress could survive being beaten about the head until she did what he wanted, even though it's how he'd treat any member of his own species. He forbade.

He settles back down onto a forearm, the other thick hand once more questing along the table - before it comes across bread. Sausage fingers dwarf the bagette, which is lifted and crushed between daggered teeth.

There's an awful lot of chewing. Most eaten things tend to give a bit more resistance, not be all soft and doughy; Skrugg's jaw snaps over and over, his teeth not quite designed for the job. The lump swallowed all at once, thick hand questing blindly again.

"Why regulate the time? If you get hungry, go eat. One food is as good as another."

" I'm sorry you regular server is changing her panties  a bemused Tae girl returned with several laden trays today special, is steak tartar with a side order off blood pudding, very appetizing I might say." he young woman quickly set out the slabs of steak and a bowl of blood pudding with little of the polish and flair of a professional server.

" And If I may say so sir I'd like to thank you and your party for saving me from scrubbing pots."
although I am pretty sure they are hoping you add a fillet of me to the menu... So I'm hoping if I ask nicely you don't mind skipping that course

The young woman then turned to T'risa and Beowulf serving them their meals with a slightly embarrassed smile as she barely managed not to spill sauce on T'risa. You know you really are much prettier in person. If you don't mind me saying so ma'am.

After serving the meals she shot Spanner a wink and stepped back waiting for their permission to leave, or to take any further orders.

He had gone to his room before joining the others, now dressed in a dark suit his hair pulled back out of his face. He gave a slight bow to V'nari and the others, even to Skrugg with only a slightly raised eyebrow at the large alien seated with them. He turned back to the others, "I apologize for being late, but needed to grab a couple of things and change into some more fitting clothing for our distinguished guests."

He took a seat and after a cursory glance ordered a dark ale with a steak. Giving the waitress a slight smile. "So V'nari, Spanner, your folks were aboard the Crow. It is curious that so many descendants of that famed crew would happen to be aboard one single ship together without prior knowledge or arrangement. I am curious what you all are doing here and where each of you is going."

Re: CSV: K'sa Vra: Passenger Lounge ( IC chat)
The Tlazolteotl's head cranes once more as the scent of food pulls him, his massive hand already slapping down on one of the 'tartar' slabs of meat before it has time to settle. Thick teeth clamp down hard, with a loud popping sound as the rib-eye is pulverzied in the middle. The bone eater twists his head, and tears the chunk off - signs of obvious relish.  Slit nostrils flare, as his head turns to silently watch the woman put down the other slabs, and the blood pudding. He literally sniffs the air for a moment, before grunting and swallowing the pulped lump.

"Mm. Too small. Get fatter first." He rumbles, to the waitress - in regards to him eating her. Another deep chortle. Yellow eye slithers aside to Jason, even as he continues to rip apart the meat - something he is built for. 'Sitting' at the table might be a slight exaggeration; Really, he's just too big for a normal chair, and has taken to settling his weight on his forelimb. Even hunched over, he's bigger than most men.

Spanner blushes slighty at the waitress's wink, then answering Jason's question

"I'm just cruising around looking for some rogue work wherever I can find it.  It helps when your grandpappy is popular, so finding work is never really that hard, Just mention some RAD armor and BAM!  You have a job.  Though most of my work is only temp, it still pays good and every know and then, I get to hook up with the ladies... Speaking of ladies, I think I may have just found my company for the night.  If you excuse me."

Spanner heads off after the waitress, in hopes of making this trip more enjoyable.

V'nari glanced around her, a little concerned at events. She adjusted her earring to activate the comms system, whispering as she engaged the others in small talk. "Uh Kali? I think you may need to come get me. I'm not sure....but you might need to bring the package....or at least a few small arms."

Re: CSV: K'sa Vra: Passenger Lounge ( IC chat)
Kali was standing on the exterior hull of the ship her silky black hair Floating around her head in a lovely display that could only occur in zero gravity. Her features were distinctly Asian yet her coloration at least for the moment was Tao. She was doing her best to entice one of the M'nKuhl close enough to touch. After a bit being success full she was gently caressing along it's back. It resembled a earth Dolphin.

Suddenly her head turns towards the air lock she had come out of. Unable to speak since she was in the cold vacuum of space Kali responds using her com. Being what she was she didn't need to speak anyway. "Understood I will be there momentarily V'nari. What is the nature of the trouble? How many targets?"

She enters the air lock interfacing with the ships computer. If possible she access the security system getting a visual on the Passenger Lounger where V'nari is currently located. "I see. Unusual to have one of those on board let alone rubbing shoulders with important personages such as yourself V'nari. Don't tell me it's supposed to be a diplomat."

Making her way to V'nari's location by the most efficient route she enters the room. Moving with a smooth grace and confidence her exotic eyes take in the entire room quickly. She notes the locations of everyone patron and worker alike. She notes Skrugg with a slight look of distaste. However it lasts only for a moment as she remains professional. Making her way to V'nari she does not draw a weapon as for the moment at least it appears not to be immediately needed. Once at her side she leans close speaking softly so that only V'nari should hear her. "Do you wish to leave my lady?"

Re: CSV: K'sa Vra: Passenger Lounge ( IC chat)
The massive Grunt continues to tear and rip into his slabs of meat, viscera slithering between teeth to pool against the table beneath him. Occasionally he'll miss the meat, his giant paw slapping down on glass - much to the detriment of more than one wineglass, with quiet tinkling. Food is Life. The unfortunate blood pudding is scooped up instead, and dribbled between spread jaws with all due signs of vicious enjoyment. Utterly oblivious to the world around him

It's a shame he's going to be interrupted. Skrugg's yellow eye twists aside as someone new approaches the table - Kali. Her brief flash of distaste is meet with a spread of teeth and a rumbled chuckle. And then Spanner comes back to announce a spy, and some fighting.

"HA!" He booms, muscles rippling as he straightens to his full height, his plates shattering to the floor at his feet. Shaking his head from side to side, neck twisting in an almost serpentine manner. "Something runs?" It takes a moment to reign in his hunting instincts; To chase what moves while he's still hungry.

Maybe this soft ship wouldn't turn out so boring after all. "Stupid spy. Didn't even eat the remains." He states emphatically, and with all do enjoyment.

He'd been about to respond that most species were not so... constantly- in a state of hunger as Tlazolteotl tended to be, so they saw no point in eating all of the time, but regulated themselves for productivity purposes.

As it was Beowulf shrugged as he began to stand. "If any of us are well suited to processing, unharmed, anything of ill intent slipped into the food... it would be you," he offered to the Tlazolteotl.

He turned to V'Nari and posed, "If you're declaring an emergency status, I'll need only a few moments to get armored and armed all at once... If you'd prefer to keep this relatively quiet for now... I understand and can avoid donning my armor.  The Blade of House Xilphane is at your service."  That said, he was already moving for the door and the circuitry lines around his right eye lit up and traveled down his right arm and caused the bracer to lose some of its dusky quality and dance with cyan stars in its semi contained void.

V'nari leaned across the table before Kali arrived at her side. Still with a broad smile on her face she managed to talk in a low voice so as not to be overheard by anyone else. "Gentlemen, in a few moments, my bodyguard will arrive and whisper something into my ear. I will take leave of you all and return to my cabin. Something is very amiss on this vessel. I suspect it is either due to be attacked by pirates, or by a faction loyal to one of the other princesses. In any case, me and Kali will prepare to meet this threat. I would suggest if you wish to avoid trouble, you return to your cabin and stay there. If you wish to...assist then meet me at my cabin in a few minutes. I am not shy I welcome help from whomever is willing to give it. I'm in the Imperial Suite."

V'nari whispered to Kali as she appeared "I'm not sure of the nature of the threat. It would seem to be directed towards me or possibly the vessel. the possibility exists I may have been poisoned or drugged. Prepare my Armour, I don't want to overreact, but it may be an assassin, or a full scale pirate attack." V'nari nodded as if she was being told she had an important message, before speaking loudly. "If you excuse me gentlemen, I need to return to my quarters. I have an message waiting for me."

She stood up moving away regally back towards her cabin.

Spanner nods as V'nari heads off to her quarters, and Spanner follows suite and heads off to his room.  Along the way, Spanner pulls up his left sleeve and displays his PND, he types in a few commands and makes his way to his room.  When entering his room, there is a drone hovering in the middle of the room armed and ready.  Spanner walks over to his carry on luggage and pulls out a pair of combat fatigues and changes quickly.  Spanner starts to head towards the Imperial suite when he remembers he forgot to grab his pistol.  After grabbing his pistol and an extra magazine, Spanner makes his way to the Imperial suite with his trusty drone Rufus behind him.

Re: CSV: K'sa Vra: Passenger Lounge ( IC chat)
"Poison? That's the enemy put before me in this ship, one who poisons?" Skrugg seems almost disappointed by the news, grumbling as he lowers himself back to his forearms with a heavy thump and looking towards the small thing with the flashing lights "Insulting. Hardly worth the effort to murder. An assault team would be.. a good, glorious fight."

A snorted blast of air follows the female O'Maeda and her comment to hide in his room. One hides from boredom, not the first bit of interesting this miserable ship has to offer. That's the Tlazolteotl way. The massive thing begins to knuckle away from the table, picking up an impressive turn of speed - not to mention momentum, with his mass. His focus is on his own cabin, used more as a closet than an actual place to rest.

Thoughts of Imperial Suite are placed aside, as the Grunt begins to pull his carefully packed armor from its boxing. There is little in the way of religion or ceremony for the practical, pragmatic and horribly blunt species - and this is as close as it gets. Even as thick and unyielding as his hands are, the art is so well practiced that he can devote his thoughts to other things - such as the upcomming chance to see the softer races in battle. Usually, all he gets to see is the splattered remains after he or another clatch of Tlazolteotl smash into them. And yet, they rule the galaxy.

He pauses on pulling out the beautifully crafted power axe - he didn't care about the origin. Only that it was his, sized for a Tlazolteotl, passed down when he murdered his patron for it. A battle worth remembering.

"You're dead. I'm alive." He tells the former owner. "So I'll remember you, and you'll live forever." As far as the species go, it was as profound a prayer as could be asked. Eagerness over-rides the 'manners' which he has treated the softer races, as if they were fragile egg-shells with egos to match. A fat thumb slaps shells home in a shotgun designed for his oversized and non-too dexterious hands.
