Gale wakes in the women's slave barracks and checks her wounds.  She then mentally prepares herself for her first day as a slave, watching what the other women do and emulating them.

Maverick is not with his mom. Slave masters don't care how much children "want their mommy" or what not. The kids are in a separate area, being sorted by ugly and not ugly. At that age, a kid is useful for one of two things: 1) Squeezing into smaller spaces (Mining work), 2) Sex (Usually ranks decent lucratively). As such, the children are naked and being sprayed off with a hose. Maverick is familiar how this works and is patiently biding his time, knowing that the masters will not kill anyone as that's money down the drain. Maverick also knows he and his mom will soon escape this hell, free the slaves and bathe in the blood of these slave-drivers.

He also knows chances are high his mother is being dressed in sexy garb by now as she is high on the attractive scale and frankly, that's ALL women are useful in the eyes of slave traders.

Gale and the other women are lead off to the examining room and are examined!  Oh the randomness!  As Maverick guessed, his mom is among the few selected to be set aside for "entertaining" the big cheeses.  The unpicked women are led off to work the mines.  Gale winds up in ye olde sexy garb and waits with the other hot slaves for their first "assignment."

Maverick has been dressed in some kind of skin-tight jumpsuit and is brought over to his mom. He has a pouting look to his face ( http://www.dreamstime.com/pout...oard-thumb188375.jpg ) and has his arms folded. He's holding back his death glare on purpose so the slavers think he's just some cute kid trying to look tough. But really, Maverick knows the "you're cute when you're angry" types are likely to enjoy his current little show of defiance. Such a deceptive kid... he makes it look like they said "no you can't have this toy" when he's thinking something along the lines of feeding them their fingers one by one.

Rational thought melts away the moment mommy sees her boy.  She glomps her boy and tearfully caresses his hair.

"Hey!" one of the slave drivers says, "Must be the boy's mom.  Fantastic.  They're really gunna like the two-for-one deal.  Ha!"

Gale does allow herself a kill-glare and begins reasoning an escape.  She brings her lips to her son's ear and whispers, "We can't wait for a safer moment to make our move.  I'll keep their attention, you get behind them and take any holstered gun."

The shuttle lands on the mining planet, the door opening as he steps off the platform and into the hangar.  He wasn't sure what he was supposed to be doing here, but he was already annoyed.  Go figure that I have no idea what the hell I'm doing here.  The partial werewolf mumbles as he makes his way through the landing area, being greeted by the base commander.  Lord Sabrin...We weren't expecting you to be here so soon.  He said, stuttering a little.  He merely figured that his reputation had been spreading around the empire.  So much for being a discreet apprentice.

Yes well, neither was I.  Why am I here?

(OOC:Someone else can take control of the base commander.)

Maverick glances at his mom. He says, "K." nice and quiet-like. He then proceeds to move behind his mother in a standard "protect me, mommy!" child reflex, when really, he's prepping to disappear so he can do as Gale asked of him.

Gale stands, bearing a defeated posture.  She approaches the slavers with a plaintive look in her eyes and through her tears, begs.  "I'll do anything you want," she says, "Just don't hurt me."

She then brings her knee up to one of the guy's groin.  He shouts in pain and the others try to grab at her while she dives to the side.

"To... relax?" the commander guesses, "I guess we'll just have to wait for orders."

Shouts can be heard through the closed door that leads to the other room when Gale makes her move.  The commander smirks.

"Must have a rowdy new slave," he guesses, "This could prove entertaining.  Is there anything I can get you to make your stay more comfortable, Lord Sabrin?"

When the base commander is just as in the dark as he is, Nic lets out a rather heavy sigh.  Since you don't know any more than I do, I guess I have no choice but to wait for orders and...relax.  In the meantime, I guess I will head to my quarters.  He muttered.  He began to walk towards his quarters when Gale's commotion starts.

Then I suggest that you get your slaves under control before I do, commander.  He said, those emerald colored eyes harder than the strongest alloy and colder than the farthest reaches of space.

Maverick does as told. He gets behind one of the guards and takes his gun before shooting the same guard. Soon after, he uses the guy's body as cover while he provides cover-fire for his mom. He smirks, having seen his mom knee the guy in the gnads.

One of the guys had managed to re-capture Gale only to be shot with his own blaster!  The other two reach for their weapons, but Gale full-body tackles them!

Meanwhile the commander nods to Nicholas.  "Right."

He opens the door and provides yet another distraction.  "What the hell is going on around here?!" he demands.

Enter the imperial march music as Nicolas proceeds to his quarters to relax and wait for orders.  He kinda figured that the commander could handle the situation for the time being.  Walking through the halls, imperial soldiers stood aside for him to pass until he arrived at his quarters, hanging his robe on the chair and plopping on the bed for the time being.
