I appreciate the IC posts from people. I figured rather than a bunch of blah blah blah I would get the game started back up with a touch of action for the newcomers. The groups can meet and exchange info later......IF everyone survives....Muahahahahahahaha! >:D

Those with more Talislanta experience, I'm assuming my illusions won't work on the undead right?

You don't really know and neither does anyone else. No other caster has Illusion Mode spells so they have no frame of reference.

Talislanta has a bit different spin on "undead" than a lot of other games; each type is more or less individualized, so how spells would affect them would depend a lot on that type.  For instance, Talislanta doesn't have zombies on its own in the sense of the zombies we've seen.

As far as illusion goes, Tal illusion magic is odd in that it may not influence the mind per se, but actually be a physical manifestation.  For example, to cast a "light" spell in Tal, you'd use the illusion mode, which creates a "real" light you can see by.

Bottom line, though, it's going to depend upon what your character knows of both illusion magic and of zombies.  For instance, they might see an illusionary bunch of people running away from them, but, for all we know, they are more attracted by smell or sound than sight.  *shrug*.

Mentally I am in the holi-daze mode so my posting will likely suffer some until they are done...

I know I need to do an update, will try to get it done within the week.

Just wondering if this game is going to continue...

I am still alive and I apologize profusely. Things have been crazy since the holidays.....holidays are always crazy then shit at my job being crazy after that, my landlord saying he is selling the condo we are renting, scrambling to find new housing, finding a house, the whole mortgage process, worrying about something somehow putting the kibosh on it at the last minute (we close in 1 1/2 weeks), and my cousin just passing away at age 52.

It isn't an excuse but they do say losing housing, buying a home, the holidays, money worries, and a death are some of the bigger life stressors.....I have had the perfect storm. I really do want to continue but it might not be until the end of April by which time (if all goes well) I will have moved into the new house and gone on vacation to Florida to see my dad. I understand if that is a lot to ask but I wanted to at least let people know what has been up...

NP. Real life comes first. Always. What is more important is you are ok now.

I am finally moved into my new house and with internet access. Back to work until I leave on 4/14 for Florida. I will be returning on 4/22 and have a medical procedure on 4/26. I am hoping once all this is done I will be able to get things rolling here...thanks for hanging around for me.

Once I get back I will see who is still around and alter the inactive players in the IC post as needed. At this time it looks like we lost Califax and Dii Ahnah with Novo being a possible loss as well as no activity since mid-February.

So it is now May and I am back from my vacation and more-or-less settled in to my house. In looking at the logins it appears we are down to 5 again. Califax has not signed on since September, the person who took on Dii Ahnah since late December, and Novo's player since mid-February. I really would like to finish this story arc but barring their return it just doesn't look possible to write 3 more of the original cast into the background. It seems like the only thing to do to continue a game is to move on to a new story arc, maybe handwaving the ending of this one. It is not ideal and it leaves out what to do with the reward promised to the original cast when it all first started...

One thought is to just end the game but that isn't fair to the new players who haven't really even had the chance to get rolling and I would like to give the game another shake in some manner. Anyhow I am open to some input and suggestions here...

I just started my character-but I could reset him if need be.

In fairness if I just went to a different story arc you wouldn't have to reset at all.

Still here, though it took me a while to realise this might be starting back up again. :)

OK so I may have a potential 6th player to round things out. Have given the person a link to look at the game and asked them to RTJ to read more. Assuming all goes swimmingly we will roll with 6 and I guess a new start is in order. I won't ask everyone to backtrack XP, too much of a pain to do that.

All that said since this adventure is essentially dead and buried (no pun intended) maybe everyone could throw out ideas of what they might like to do/see in an adventure. It would help kickstart my creative process and get you all involved as well. :)
