Bruga looks pensive for a moment before his eyes light up. Fine! he replies as if eager to be off. He looks Senuviel and his equipment over and adds Reassured.

Re: Route from Lotan to Cabain

The  elf sits  by the  wagon, checking the fetchings of his  arrows  as the rwest arrive.  As they start to gather, He refills his quiver  and palces his backpack and  quiver over his  cloak, then puls  the hood up over his head. He checks  that his  Blades will clear thier sheaths, then hefts  his bow in his Left  hand.  Unless  anyone else wishes to do it, I will take point? If somene else wishes it, I will drop back to rear guard."

Re: Route from Lotan to Cabain

Kree looks at  the  two halfling  and smiles slightly, Good  LAdy, worry not  about the watch..that is something we  will be able to sort out   when we make camp...right now?  we needs  worry about staying in one piece, so there is a camp to have..aye?

Give  me about  50 yard or  so lead...i will be stepping on and off the track from time to time....IF....I leave an arrow on the  track..look to see where it is pointed, that means  i have  found something in that direction,...if the arrow is pointed back the  way we came..stop...and begin to move back, as i have found a trap..or ambush....He pats his tunic, I have a signal whistle...i will blow it  if  thenodds  are too great...  he  chuckles  a bit,..and..if you see me  sprinting  down the track towards you?....You know there is something wrong...

If no one has  any further suggestions or questions, Kree will jog out  to his lead, and begin to work the  way ahead.

Re: Route from Lotan to Cabain

Astar gathers you together and tells you to take your positions along the wagon.
The wagon is basically a large box on wheels, there is 4 large draft horses pulling it. A space for rider and co pilot and then the stoarge space. It is not visible what is inside the wagon, it is made from solid wood. Not one of you knows what you are gaurding.

The formation is:

Up front Nickoli
On wagon Clair
Left flank Bruga
Right flank Senuviel
Rear Kree

[Private to Clair Brandywhine: You think you hear something in the wagon]

Senuviel walks alongside the wagon for a few minutes and then he gets closer to Kree.

[Private to Kree Quickshadow: Do you  have any ideas on what we are guarding? I can hear some noise coming from inside the wagon.]

Re: Route from Lotan to Cabain

Bruga thinks of making a fuss
But he would get a scold
And he's just be told
"You can't come with us."

So he'll be a drudge
And trudge.

Re: Route from Lotan to Cabain

The  elf  looks at the wagon, Kree shrugs  at Senuviel as he leans down as if fussing with his bowstring,[Private to Senuviel Alantir: ...if they sound as though they may be people?  we  wait until we get a days  ride away...i will not aid someone in trafficing slave...]

Kree, with  senuviel moves to the front of the wagon. He  smile is like that of  some  country bumkin....Change in plan...Good  Senuiel will take  point, and I will be rear guard..perhaps that is  best, since i am  able to slip in and out of the shadows...One thing more... he is ready to turn   and head to the rear  as he gives Senuviel a  pat on the shoulder, as he turns and looks  straight into the eyes of the Wagooneer....what is  the  Cargo we  carry?..I needs  know..in case  actions  call for saving the goods...

His  smile  stays on his face, but  the  expression is  a bit more..stern.

Astar gives him a rather gruff look "I am not paying you to ask questions, you need not worry about what is in the wagon. Only that it is your job to protect it."

..right then, suit yourself...if the goblin fire throwers hit the wagon..i shall not go near it, unless i know  what is inside...as you say...'tis not  my worry.." he moves  off the track a step to give the wagon and the rest some head start.......

Re: Route from Lotan to Cabain

In reply to GM (msg #15):

Once they are on the way, Clair just quietly says, Sir Aster, Worry not, I will say a pray to my lady luck to guide us and let fate carry the day.  she will quietly mumble the start to a prayer just barely audible then pause acting like she is concentrating (Actually listening to see if she can over hear anything more from inside the wagon) then finish the prayer.  Smiles, looks at Aster, my lady is a fun and fancy free god, full of adventure and chance, I hope she has given us a good hand to deal with today so we can enjoy our ride.

OOC - is there a way on top of the wagon??

Re: Route from Lotan to Cabain

Astar shrugs obviously unimpressed with kree's threat. "You will do what you are paid to do, or you will not be paid at all."

(the top of the wagon is as solid as the rest it is a super huge wooden box on wheels. You would all notice there are no obvious ways in, no windows or even doors to get in or out of the wagon.)

[Private to Clair Brandywhine: You still hear something but you can identify it as human, humanoid, or even animal. Just something making noise inside, it could simply be crates shifting, its nota  smooth road.]

Re: Route from Lotan to Cabain

As the wagon rolls up the track, Kree wanders off the track just  abit  and follows under the  cover of  the brush  and such, every now  and  again he  stops, looks, and listens, before moving on.

he will cross the track from time  to  time to walk the other side as well..when he does, he studies the  track to see if there is  any sign of anything  being  droped  or leaked  from the wagon.

Re: Route from Lotan to Cabain

The wagon rolls along for the remainder of the day and none of you come any closer to discovering what is inside the wagon, any noise has ceased when yous top. No one hears anything inside the wagon. At the end of the night you will all note that Astar disappears shortly for a few minutes to "relieve himself." Upon his return he pays each of you 20 gold which was half the agreed sum to each of you. "The other half when we return to Lotan." he says gruffly. Night falls and food is prepared over the fire you all have a healthy meal in you as you set to prepare your watch schedule.

Senuviel eats merrily. He sits next to Kree while every now and then he tries to study Astar's manners. The warrior/mage chit-chats with the ranger in elvish for a while then he changes to common all of a sudden. If no one objects, I'd like to take the first watch. Said that, the sits silent for a minute enjoying his food.

Fine with me Bruga says. I think two of us should watch when it's dark. Wake me when it's my turn. With that he finds a place to sleep.

Kree chuckles  telling  an offcolor  joke or two in elvish. He too..is worried of  what is in the box. The simple fact that he hunts people..who sell people..is  enough to keep his mind sharpe and on ethe wagon when he can.

,Adding in common,..Allow me to take the Deep watch then, I will wake everyone an hour before  our good employer wishes to depart.

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg #28):

I can take what ever watch you need me on, say split the middle watch since I did not use any spells I only need to pray in the morning for a bit.
Clair will pocket her gold, smiles maybe we can play a few hands of cards or a round or two tossing the dice, snic, for amusement to pass the time.

OOC Does Aster hang with us or by himself?

Astar sits at the fire and eats with the group when it comes for time to sleep Astar makes no offer to take a watch and simply climbs up to sleep on the wagon.
