The Floating Stone Inn

The Floating Stone Inn is the only Inn in Cobain. Above the mantle of the Fireplace is a large piece of stone that is indeed floating. Free of wires or obvious magics. The money provided will indeed cover a night in an above average room for each of you.

Senuviel remains in the tavern, he asks for some deer meat and mead and then he eats while he watches the people in the tavern.

Re: The Floating Stone Inn

The  dorr  flies  open. An elf enters  with his  face  set in a mask of hate, his forest green eyes dark to the point  that the Golden flecks stand outy.

He  slams his hand  down on the table with Senuviel hand looks to  see hwere the others  are,...we just  helped a slaver!  his  chest  expanded as he  was almost beyond  himself....I followed the Orc Humping bastard..they are right now...Unload  sleeping bodies that he used magic on to silence them after  we heard them...

Head turning from one to another  he says, I am Uncertain  hopw many of them there are..counting our employer..I saw three..there may be more...But i tell you this  now...if  we cannot  kill any other ones...I am Killing him...it  it  will take days  for him to die! I Go ..NOW..they will not  be there much longer then it  takes them to unload...and By Tymora's  Dice, and Beshaba's  dark heart...there  are going to be less of them within the hour!

The  normally Stoic Elf, spins  on his heel and  heads  back towards the door..his  right hand checking the blades in thier sheaths, and adjusting the quiver  onhis back.

Re: The Floating Stone Inn

Senuviel spits when he listens to the word "slaver" but the warrior/mage remains calm due to his decades of magic training and meditation. After Kree finishes, Senuviel rushes towards him and grab the ranger by his arm. Wait Kree! I understand your feelings but we have to step carefully now. I say we better investigate what's going on and then after we collect information about Astar and friends we get into action. We'd better keep a low profile, slavery is a large business which involves very rich and powerful people from nobles to Captains, Barons and even Kings. Let's be patient and plan well. I swear by the great Corellon Larethian that Astar is going to pay for every single coin he'd made with his foul commerce. Says the elf as he tries to convince Kree to return to the table.

Re: The Floating Stone Inn

The  Elf's jaws work as he studies Senuviel...he calmy ( too calmly?) says,..they are  unl;aoding as we speak...folks whom where stuck in that wagon, with no windows..no doors, laying there. feeling each bump..hearing  our voices, yet could not get aid from us....

Turning to Senuviel his eyes dart  quickly  to see if  others of the group are there or nay as he contimues,..Slavery thrives  on many things..Money is the greatest prize...tis  true  enough..but some garner pleasure from the pain of others  as well...WE....I...helped deliver those wretched  souls  here...and  By every god  i pray to...I am not going to let them enjoy the profit..I have upended by share of apple carts when it  comes to this...Let the name me Villian for it...I care not...those who name  me such, will just be the next on my list to die, as they have shown, which  side of the line they call home...You wish to plan?..Then  PLan , my friend...I am going back there...if  nothing else ..to see  what  they are doing  with those folks...and...if i get  the chance? To stake Astar to a  Tree, with my Rune  carved in his forehead...just like  any other bag of offal i have dispatched before...except this time...THIS TIME...I helped bring them here!

He nods his thanks to Senuviel..a nod that shows he Understands his friend's willingness to help...but none, amoung his  comrades  can understand  what Hatred Kree has  for  slavers...nor how strong  the call for Vengence is......

Re: The Floating Stone Inn

In reply to Senuviel Alantir (msg #6):

Clair looks about to see if any of the conversation or acts by Kree were really noticed and to what degree within the inn by the other patrons.  Once she takes note of everything she will then also move to Kree's side.  Patience my friend, then quietly speaks so only Kree and Senuviel hears her, If you say sleeping then if we act now, they will most probably loose there lives before they have a chance to escape.  We still have to make the trip back and can act then.  And Bruga is not with us yet so we are short one.

If Kree cannot be persuaded to wait and must act now, Clair will go with him.

Re: The Floating Stone Inn

The elf nods his  head to let her  know he understands  what she is  saying, then shakes it to show he disagrees,...thier  deaths  would be perferred, then the life  of what evre  type of slave they are to be...sometimes...slaves become devoted to thier masters, by some  sick twist of thier  minds..we have  had to kill more then a few slaves like that..those who have been turned....There is no ...'trip back'. They killed that last escort..there is a good bet we are next...our Halfling  friend  had business of his own...and you will forgive me, if i fail to think his task is  more important  then  those  souls  we have delivered into  the hands of bastards  that i would kill, even before i  would a Drow!

With  a nod to her  and Senuviel he adds,..YOu two are of  calmer heads...you can plan. wait on the  halfling  to find  his way back hee if you wish...But i am going to the barn...we have one important edge on them...Those people are thier  goods...they  will not part with them  unless they have to..and by  those  gods who aid me...I am going to bring  a few of  them down before the break and  run...I am going to burn that wagon...and if Tymora  and Beshaba aid me...I will burn it  with Astar , inside, Nailed to the walls...

I am going..now..and i am brining the 9 hells  with me..you folks  follow  when you can...you can either enjoy the sight  of Astar's  screams...or...follow the tracks  from by body...either way..those folks are not going to be slaves...

Re: The Floating Stone Inn

Kree will have a moment of clarity they were UNLOADING the wagon, he thinks that perhaps the slavers are unloading here and bringing back an empty wagon to refill again.

Finding Bruga does seem sensible though, Astar did look battle experienced and from what Kree had heard magic experienced as well. The other 2 he saw he is pretty sure are grunts, but Astar well he is another problem all together.

Re: The Floating Stone Inn

he stands by the  doors. Again  the  muscles in his  jaw clench.  we do not know...when the customers are going to be coming for thier ....goods... he spit the last word out in disgust....Perhaps..I will stay behind while you folks  make the return trip? I might be able  to kill or lead off the  helpers, and free the prisoners....I know not, how else  we can do this...how do i let people fester as prisoners..when I was duped into  helping bring them here....  his  right hand  rests on the hilt  of his dirk....looking out towards  the street once more.

Re: The Floating Stone Inn

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg #11):

Kree, cooler heads will prevail in this, come back inside and not attract any undo attention. Even quieter to Kree,  We can work out a plan tonight.  We do have the trip back and sometimes one has to leave an ace on the table to get a better set of cards with the next dealt hand.  Later you can snoop around if you like to see if you can get a reading on there actions with the latest cargo and be better able to read the dice as they are thrown.

Once back at the table, quietly still acting like a personal conversation two close friends may have (female n male type - hey had to cover up our secretive talks to the locals some how) I am sure this trade is going on under the table and we may be able to find support locally - remember Brugar and his errend maybe we can get contacts or help from him.  now that we know what is up, maybe we can get the bigger players then small ones.  This will be a crap shoot until all the chips are on the table

Re: The Floating Stone Inn

Kree nods his head, he is  less then happy right now, and being this  close to someone who runs  an opertaion, rather then  just the scavengers, makes him thirst for  thier blood more then ever.

Sitting at the  tanle, he  teies to smile  a bit, trying tostep into the Role that Clair  has set in motion. He looks at her, but says  to the both of them, his head moving  a bit  so her head can cover anyone trying to read lips,..this..is no small thing, Good LAdy. There is  a goodly chance of the law, or money....or both..aiding them , setting them up here as thier shipping area...just as so, back where we came from, some one is greasing wheels, so they can laod bodies into a  odd looking wagon, and no one knows what is inside...I did see..how they opened the wagon...we might be able to free the next batch,,,if he allows  us to make another round  trip. But i am thinking, he will be dome with us..one  way or the other. He did not like us asking about  what was in the box, and....he used magic to put the others to sleep...this is something that we need Hunters for..someone  who cannot be turned by coin...

The night passes uneventfully apparently Astar did not ever see Kree. In the morning you will find everyone returned at breakfast, but you also find another friend in Khorden a dwarven fighter you knew back home.

(ooc: everyone  may wish to update Bruga and even perhaps Khorden on the happenings of the last evening.)

Kree will update  everyone   about the slaves, Astar's possible magic, and the wagon...he will add backround  for thier Dwarven friend so he might know  how this came about...and what  they ( Kree?) wants to do with the slavers....

Re: The Floating Stone Inn

Doing anything could be touchy. Astar's a respected personage. He'd have to be caught red-handed, and we should take into account that some officials may be bribed. I'd like to talk with my master about this if you can stand to play dumb on the return trip.

In reply to Bruga Honeyfinder (msg #17):

Quietly so only the group here, [Clair is comfy setting next to Kree :)] For the return trip, ya we have to stay cool, I think we need a better oppertunity to inflict more damage then just stopping him , I thought maybe you could talk to your master once back.   We need a plan and convince Khorden and Aster it is a good thing to be with us on our return trip.

Still quietly:
Plan A, if something happens en route back via Aster trying something against us.
Plan B, if something happens en route back via we are attacked by monsters what do we do
Plan C, if something happens en route back via we have an oppertunity to deal with Aster ourselves.

Kree shrugs,  if you master  can help, that is fine..but if he does not know the twists  and turns of this man  by now...chances are, he would lean to believeing  the merchant , rather then some guards...

I cannot promise much, in the way to Astar....he is all i dispise and people's lives have  been damaged, some..beyound repair...he needs to pay..and dearly  looking  out the window  for a moment,  I should think I will spend  time on the point, or  rear Guard once more..that will keep  me from his sight.

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg #19):

I think rear guard though snic you may enjoy the ride on the wagon seat next to him if you get my "point" ... oh did I say that ;) Sorry, my lady luck sometimes brings out the mischief in me.

Clair sighs Maybe Bruga's master does not know but once he knows we may have an ally that can help our cause better.

Looking at the group I would say one guard actually watch Aster and we switch off at night, guarding the wagon or more likely him.  I hope there are no slaves on the return trip but since he paid us most of the sum owed I expect not.

Grins in thought We can use the warehouse as a base point to later investigate/infiltrate if we do not get far with him.  We should try to find his other contacts from our town - maybe he is a middle man only.  Either way he needs to pay for his acts.

Khorden, you can be an added bonus guard, Aster will not want to pay you but I am willing to cut you some of my gold he gave me for the trip especially if you join us to help ferret out this weasel. Smiles that girlish smile, this may be that adventure you always talked about.
