Khorden didn't have much to do to set up camp, set down his pack, lay out his blanket and cloak and set to sleeping.  He starts munching on some dried cheese and stale bread, "I'm good with any watch, though be best for all if I take one when the darkness is deep about us."

Re: Campsite

Gosric snorts his disapproval at the campsite.  Couldn't we have spent one more night in a real bed?  He doesn't offer to take any watch, but he'll take whichever watch he's pressed to take otherwise, with only a little bit of grumbling.  Otherwise, he will wrap himself in his cloak and try to stay warm, making small talk to pass the time.

"So, anyone brought a good mulled wine?" He snorts at his own 'cleverness' before wiping his too-big nose on his cloak.

Oh Gosric, the nice fresh air, wilderness sounds and comfy companions campfire, outdoor camping.  This is the life:)

Luck Kree with your hunting.

Sitting down next to Bruga - Lady luck gives us all some leeway here but it would be advisable to name stakes others can play with to, to make it a fare chance for others to join or not.  she holds a deck of cards and a small bag of dice weighing each in her hand while waiting for Bruga to name some stakes for the game.  There was a hint of a blush at first but was hidden by the smile.

OOC yup we all will take those rolls in non essential times.

21:45, Today: Clair Brandywhine rolled 15 using 1d20. gaming roll.

Ha, Goseric we are even now, one apiece - hands the dice to Goseric your turn, gets up to help with the meal Well I am not much of a cook either more handy in the healing department but I will do my best.

Gives Snare a quick pat then heads over to help.

21:50, Today: Clair Brandywhine rolled 19 using 1d20. cooking.

Yulch after a few minutes of unsuccessfully trying to boil water, Clair calmly states, err I will just make sure the berry's and stuff are fresh and healthy and stops trying to help burn the hut down.

Re: Campsite

In the end the group you manage to cook the venison to a safe point of doneness and manage something close to a berry reduction that is at least edible. Bellies now full you probably have a couple hours before bed shall call your names it is an early start in the morning.

(OOC so if everyone is in the hutt are we all sleeping in the living room area (plenty of cots here and the fireplace would keep you all warm.) or if someone wants more privacy at least to change there are three bedrooms with doors.)

Clair makes sure Snare is let out to do his "business" before the watch is set then makes a spot near the fire for him and a cot for her, near the fire but not too close.  Calmly explains, in the morning I'll use a room to freshen up but at this point we might as well continue getting used to sharing close quarters in here or out on the trail/adventure, snic, if I see something I have never seen before I will just light it up for all to see, looks about as she sets up "camp" seriously when life hangs in the balance among friends, modesty comes second.  chuckles, of course Snare here can be my personal protector, pets snare n scratches behind the ear, he is soooo cute (gives the sly eye to Bruga).

Now Goseric, I am awaiting your roll.  Oh are we setting a watch in here tonight also?

Re: Campsite

Bruga solemnly takes back the dice and rolls and rolls and rolls and rolls and rolls and rolls and rolls until a three and one appear. He looks at Clair.

Oh, you are a smart but bad boy, ha, I did not see two 2's rolled yet.  She grins and quickly before Bruga has a chance to react gives him a kiss on the cheek. That is for the 3 and the 1.  Now, let me have my dice back until later before you ware them out rolling them so profusely.  gigles, We can talk more when things settle down.  Sighs, I have some praying yet to do.

Bruga hands over the dice and says something the others do not catch.

[Private to Clair Brandywhine: Two and two, one and three, add up to four. One and one can result in three or more.]

Khorden remains sullenly in the corner, bring a rasping sound to the air as he works with a sharpening stone to touch up the edge of his blade.  It didn't need it, but the action seems to relax Khorden somewhat.

Clair accepts the dice and whispers back to Bruga, grinning.....

[Private to Bruga Honeyfinder: Yes, it does make 3 but we have some time to go over all of that ]

Looks to Khorden, that edge is beyond keen, I think you could cut the wind as it blows over it. sighs Take heart, what you encountered in that cave was not for you, shivers your time dealing with it is yet to be, my Lady of chance showed me so, holding her holy symbol you can rest assured, willing we keep an ACE up our sleeve for later, snic we will be back when it is our time to deal with it. get's a serious look We have other fish to fry - like these slavers.  Smiles, you are a brave friend, looks to everyone we stick together, we can over come anything placed before us.

Now on back to the swamp for dem bones.

Kree frowns  at the word  'slavers'. He hopes they  find a stray one or two of them. Right now, None of the  men who stayed to face the danger in the cave, are anywhere near happy.

Re: Campsite

Bruga looks around and maybe figures out their mood. Uh, going that far into the cave was a brave act.
So was getting out of the way...better than being dinner for whatever was coming. And, hey, remember we agreed to develop ourselves so we could take on bigger challenges.

Re: Campsite

Senuviel breaks his silence once again but keeps his eyes on the fire. What the halfling says holds true. We should not act harshly. There's a huge gap between fighting another day and being a total coward. The elf then shows a grim smile. Besides, I think we could use the beastie inside this cave in case we meet those blasted slavers again, uh? Vengeance is way more delightful when served cold. The warrior/mage's eyes could even show some sparks of cruelty when he says that.

That's true. We could use the whatever-it-is as a trap...be nice if we worked out a way to survive...scoot upstream or down.

The elf  shakes his head,..there  was no signs of  struggle in that cave...no bones, no broken bits of  equipment....it  did not add up...then the beastie comes  up  and sneds shivers  into us?

He  looks at the dwarf and Senuviel,..WE...did not  run...we  were  enspelled some how to do so...but that  does not patch the hole in my ego...we start running everytime  we think a fight might be tough? We may as well go be farmers...

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg #139):

No, enough talk of this running, you three did not run outright. looks to them You choose to stay but the fear that creature projected was enough too, pauses yes we all at some time fall for our fears - from child hood with the "boogie man in the"  blushes oh forget that one he he.  looks about and pets Snare, I am also responsible for leaving you three behind and not doing a better job of convincing you to move out of the cave per my gods divine message.

humphs, now lets get going, we are learning and growing and will learn when things become over our heads and that feeling of - this is not right - more better.

Re: Campsite

Khorden listens to the other talk, but studiously observes his boots when Kree looks his way, Khorden not willing to make eye contact.  The words of the elf-lass carry a hint of comfort, though they sound hollow to his ears.  Dwarf lads would not sit around the hearth, impressed with stories of, "And the valiant Dwarf warrior fled from his foe...."
