Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

"As you like, but the offer stands should you like to change your mind." the Crusader replied before giving a loud two-toned whistle. A large silver dapple horse comes to stand in the doorway, ears pricked toward the Crusader, his reigns carefully rested over the pomnel of the saddle allowing his head full movement.

"Well, come on then Argento, I'm sure there have been horses aplenty in this building. Unless, of course, you are frightened..." she jested with the beast, who snorted and shook his head as if he understood her words, walking toward her calmly, ears flicking back and forth as he looked over the others.

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

Lady Keneally, just so I'm clear in my mind. Mistress Clair has told you some of what we're about. Our eventual goal. it seems, it to aid some of the enslaved...though exactly what is not yet clear to all of us. In any case, we try as best we may to improve ourselves and help each other while doping good or at least avoiding evil acts. I think and hope you are at liberty to join with us, to add the power of your arm, the quickness of your mind, and the stoutness of your heart to this group...which rather resembles a bedraggled posy of wildflowers.

Oh, and we should deliver these heads before anything else. [Nothing like an abrupt shift of gear]

Kree's  eyes shift to the door  as he listens to Bruga..Oh...aye..we  are delivering the heads....

as he begins to step to the door, he stops  for a momant  and looks at  Keneally,..the short one has  about said it all..save for one thing. For My part? I do not  worry about whether the acts  are good, evil, or inbetween...just as long  as the adverse effects  are felt  , by those fell  folks i hunt...Please keep that in mind, should  you be with us, and we find a salver or two...

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg #115):

Clair stops short at the sight of the horse, the big horse.  Turns to Bruga, yea that is right, we should return these heads before they rot and stink up the place.  Chuckles, and see what reaction we get from the harbor master.  then go on to the next wharehouse.

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

"Would your horse mind carrying some of this meat," Gostric asks of the Paladin. The cleric was elbow deep in gore, but he was making quick work of the rats, skinning, gutting and to some degree de-boning them with some skill, after (hopefully) borrowing a large dagger or a short sword from one of the others.

"I think we have over a hundred pounds, and if I can get some extra bags, it would be appreciated."

His typical, wide grin seems oddly out of place in his current task, but for some people, doing good is it's own reward.

"Gah, that was a mess. The local rats will enloy themselves however. Give my a few moments to dunk myself in the water off the edge of one of these docks, and I'll be ready to go."

Hopefully the entire process takes no more then fifteen to twenty minutes. Less, if he gets help.

OOC - my apologies on the gender gaffe. Please blame me, and not Gosric, no disrespect was intended by either of us. Thank you friend-dwarf, for the correction.

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

Keneally turned to Bruga and chuckled softly, "'Posy of Wildflowers' is it? Somehow methinks I best watch for thorns!"

She sombres and answers the heart of his query truthfully, "A Crusader is sworn to aid the meek with preserverence and strength before all else. If your purpose is noble and good, surely the Gods will forgive your missteps upon your journey.  I must honour the Laws of the land so long as they are Just beneath the gaze of the Sun Father and cannot aid in the breaking of those laws." She looks at each in turn to see if any objects to that truth.

She turns to Gosric with a smirk and whispers, "Argento would not be best pleased if he knew what was in that bag, but I suggest we not tell him.  He loves to show off his ability to carry heavy loads otherwise."

Already besmeared, Bruga starts learning the butcher's (and anatomist's) trade. He finds it no more pleasant that butchering in combat...but it is safer.

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

Pleased with the assistance, Gostric shares a few tricks of the trade with Bruga.

"It's like this, grab the hind leg, sharp edge of the knife down the pull on the leg, and slide the knife up the the collar bone."

He manages to the feat without too much difficulty.

"Now, grab the hide here and here..." he says, grabbing right below the sternum.

"...and turn it inside out quick-like.
"See how the offal spills right out! A bit smelly, but quicker then when I goofed it up, and my Da made me clean out a deer with the metal brush.
And less foul to the old sniffer.
"

He twists the organs, and finds a dark disc of organ meat.

"Slice out the liver, it's very good. But leave the rest, it's not worth the effort right now. Now, put the bones-side down..." he places the rat down, and sticks the knife in the shoulder socket. A quick thrust with his knee, once, twice three times, "...and the ribs come right out. Finish hacking off the leg; stringy and only worth while if you're starving, then you're done. Eezee-peezee..."

Turning to face Keneally, he gives a wink and a nod to say he understands. Horses can be proud critters, but most of the time they deserve it, in this case, without doubt.

DRAFT

I see; thank you Bruga says as he proves and adept pupil, even with his daggers. His strength is sufficient, and he's quite deft with it.

A broad grin covers the face of the over-abundant cleric, sharing with friends, even something like this, is the second best thing in life. After babies, of course.

Senuviel watches in silence the butchery class led by Gosric. The elf hangs his short bow on his shoulders and follows Kree to the office of the Harbor Master.

Once clean, Gsotric re-dons his furs (having stripped down to his skivvies before entering the water.)

He runs his hands thru his hair, then his beard, wringing out as much water as he can.

"That was refreshing. So, we have decided to move on-ward then? Excellent."

He readjusts his gear while waiting for Kree and Alantir to return.

In reply to Gosric the Full (msg #126):

Clair did not take part in using edged weapons to clean the rats but instead watched to make sure nothing surprised the group then helped hold the bag/sack to store the meat.

Then will go with Kree and Senuviel to the Harbor master with the heads of the dead rats.  Calling for Snare to follow her along, petting him once he catches up to her.

This shall be fun with an evil grin.

when the  reach the HArbormaster, Kree will look at the fellow and say  we had a wee bit of trouble, but in the end? we did alright, i am thinking..we will take the pay for these now..before we go to the next warehouse...

He takes  the bag  with the heads  and Dumps them out in front of the harbor master. The elf looks at the Bloodynecks  and snaggled teeth and shakes his head, as he looks up , with a level gaze  at the harbor master, seems these things...underestimated us...aye? Not a good  thing to do, for those who enjoy drawing breath..."

 The elf's half-smile, could be cocky...or...was it a warning?

The Harbormaster merely shrugs and pays Clair as promised. "I was trying to starve the buggers out it seems it must have weakened them for you." he points to the other 2 warehouses "I havent been in those for many years, so as far as I know they are empty."

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

well, if they aren't  empty now? they will be  when we are done.... he looks to Clair , to amke sure the coin is right, then starts to walk towards the Warehouses. As they do he says to them....he 'hasn't been there in years'...there is a goodly chance the thieves guild has  set up in there, and  we may find more the rats  and bats in there...we go in as if we expect trouble this time..and kill anything, not us..unless they surrender...

Senuviel takes off his hood and once more prepares his bow, he then glances at Kree. Aye, friend. Let's finish this task at once, as smoothly as we can, I don't like to be remembered as the Rat killer of Lotan. Although the warrior/wizard has a heart of gold, Senuviel seems too preoccupied with his own reputation lately.

In reply to Senuviel Alantir (msg #134):

OK then, should we open the door to the next wharehouse or circle it for a look see around it then go in.

OOC - Are these wharehouses all connected or stand alone buildings?

AS a group circle the wharehouse for any signs of other ways in or out recently used then move to the front door.  (if we find nothing earth shattering to stear us differently then the front door we adjust accordingly.

At the front door, Have Bruga open the door (after checking for traps and such) Keneally go in first, then Kree and Senuviel followed by who move to the right and left followed by Khordeb then Goseric and finally Clair, Snare an Bruga?

Kree n Senuviel bows ready, Keneally and Khorden move forward with Bruga in front to check traps followed by Goseric and Clair & Snare.

Kree nods, When we enter, I will gio to the Left, Senuviel to the right, with ourbows  ready, the rest come up the middle  and  we can move a few feet in, in that fashion. If we are attacked...we will search the warhouse after..if there is noi attack, we  will search anyway...I have a feeling, we may find folks, who are worse then rats, to slay...

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

Following instructions, The Full One goes around the warehouse taking Quickshadows word to heart. Looking not only for entrances, he scans for any sign of it's history or hints that there may have been movement of the roof, if this is possible.

"Theevies he says. Nasty lot in a fight. Not sure I don't prefer the rats..."

If it is close to the edge of the water, he will try to peer over the corner to see if there is any sign of an entry under water.

"Might be worth a quick duckin' to see. I kin see how smugglers might like a sub-aquatic entrance..."

If nothing is found, he assembles with the others, and prepares a sling bullet for battle.
