Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

Senuviel gives a grim look to his companions... I told you I could detect magic, didn't I? Well, you move on and take care of the rotund cleric, I'll stay here and try to find out what happened to our fellow rogue. Saying this, Senuviel goes toward the place Bruga was last seem. The elf hangs his bow on his left shoulders, he then searches in his memory for the correct words to start his incantations. The warrior/mage concentrates on the spot Bruga was last seen as  he utters the final word of his spell.

The door to warehouse 6 glows strongly of magic some sort of alteration magic very powerful anyone touching this door would be affected.

Senuviel looks grim and concerned as he speaks to Kree in a somber tone. There's some strong alteration magic here, better not touch the door. Whatever happened to our little friend we'll have to find out later. Let's regroup and see if our big cleric survives the poison. The warrior/wizard recollects his equipment and speaks to Kree on their way to warehouse 5.

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

By the time Clair settles over Gosric he begins to wake on his own. The party now knows that warehouse 6 is dangerous at minimu, and whoever did poison Gosric was more likely sending a message as the effects of the poison were very limited.

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

hearing the stirring of the Cleric, Kree leans against the wall, his bowm still ready, but he lessens  the pull as his head thumps  back against the wall. So? What do we do...Give up on the warehouses? Our record  for finishing  jobs  is not great at the moment...

A dark grin creeps across his face,I am wondering how they would  feel about the warehouse being burned to the ground?

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg #198):

With a chuckle, I was thinking the same thing after we encountered the rats.  Bruga is my main concern now as Goseric looks to be coming out of a little nap time.

Remember, We are low on spells, like one CLW or Bless from me and whatever you two have left.  Maybe, looks up and to the walls - anyway to the roof from inside?  Looks to the floor and the wagon.  Maybe a secret underground passage or grins, we roll that wagon out if it still can be rolled and charge the wharehouse with it?

Well, no better way to find out then now.
I need a guard at both doors OOC assume no windows.

Looks to Snare, circles her arms around the inside of building, Snare, hunt and circles arms around inside of building again.   Do not let Snare out, let's see what he finds.

Senuviel seats on the floor, his back and head against the wall. We're getting deeper and deeper in the schemes of those people, whoever they are. I agree on burning down the warehouse, but I'm still concerned about Bruga. I think this time, he hadn't disappeared on purpose. I bet it was the sigil on the warehouse door. Senuviel looks each one of his comrades in the eye as he waits for more ideas.

Kree's head is  still resting on the wall, he rolls it over to look at Senuviel,..that is, my friend...if our little friend does not know about  the sigil...I know little of him, and his absences, when we  meet the underworld, is begining to worry me..I can almost bet, HAd i not been in that tree?  He might have been gone, as we found that reptile...perhaps..it is  just mu paranoid thinking?

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

Gostric shake his head, and moans. "Wha,'... what happened..."

He blinks his eyes several times, and rubs his neck.

"Kor Damnation, tisn't fair to have a hangover without the drink."

While hearing the others discuss strategy, his eyes bug out in panic.

"Be ye all mad? We can't be setting a warehouse on fire, that's against the law! Not that I don't stray on occasion, but not even approaching this magnitude; we could burn down half the city."

Struggling to his feet, Gostric staggers, and grabs a wall to steady himself.

"I insist, we must retreat, and return when we have planed, and built up our resources."

If/when anyone points out that Bruga may be in there, he will suggest this is even a better reason not to burn down the building.

He will also ask after the Paladin, on the assumption that she will be a voice of reason...

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

Or..... Says Senuviel in a tone as if he had just had a bright idea.

We could go guerrilla tactics. We fix our base of operations in this warehouse or in the other one. We could fake we're leaving the warehouses behind and return in secret, and then replenish our stock of spells, sharp our blades and operate late at night, as ghosts. Then, if we manage to figure out what's going on and who's behind this scheme, we can start some subtle sabotage in order to expose the schemers publicly or at least make them lose some time and money so they would end up fighting each other specially if they're slavers. There's no room for incompetence and lack of attention and secrecy when you deal with slaves. The stakes are too high because very powerful and influent names are normally engaged in such a horrible business.

The warrior/wizard makes a brief pause and then continues.

They'd think we've left our Bruga behind and we could take some advantage of this situation if he's really under the arms of the enemy. I bet the little halfling is able to take care of himself, and having a spy in the enemy territory is a brutal advantage.

Senuviel finally stands up and speaks as if he's carefully choosing his words.

What do you think? BUt this course of action needs to be planned carefully and executed perfectly. It will demand a lot of our energy and will also confront some high ideals. The elf glances from Gosric to Keneally and Clair. But, if we're successful, the enemy will suffer great losses. What do you think of this?

Saying this, Senuviel seats back on the floor pensively.

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

Eyes wide with shock, mouth open with astonishment the cleric nods throughout the mages speech.

"Praise the many and the few, at last a sane voice! I was beginning to fear I had died and gone to the profit-free discount bin in the basement."

Still woozy from the darts affect, he slumps back down to the ground, but with a grin in his face.

"The man speaks common sense, though I would add a codicil, and suggest we attempt to complete a bit more of the mage's shopping list, then coming back when they think we have given up."

he turns to address the over eager Kree.

"Two or three days at most, fair enough?"

"Though I feel we should stay close to aid Bruga should he make an escape and need a distraction," he adds addressing the others again, "If he needs rescuing, honestly, I like the guy but I am not feeling suicidal right now."

Slumping down, he rubs his eyes again. "Now me and Tum-Tum need a little lie down time, we'll just listen with our eyes closed, proceed."

he makes a little go one motion with his hands, and twists his head a bit to stretch his neck.

Re: Docks: Warehouse 4-6

Keneally stares at the warehouse, lost in thought, oblivious to the rest of the group.  Finally snapping out of it, she backs her way to where the group had retreated.  She smiles at the cleric, "Nice to see you have the constitution of a dwarf, Gosric!" *her smile drops* "OR they were just sending a message.  What did that magic do to our comrad?" she asks the group in general, unaware that her pre-occupation has had her miss many wild ideas by her companions.

OOC: Humble apologies - apparently RPoL didn't refresh when I came on.  I thought it strange there was no new messages since Sunday!

In reply to Keneally of Jacodi (msg #208):

OOC no worries we chat alot :)

Clair looks to the group.  My first thought was to use this wagon to charge it into that wharehouse door over there to activate the magic but also maybe to smash the door open.  Thought about fighting fire with fire (OOC but reminded about some foolish Alignment thingy).  I know we are tired of dealing with these wharehouses and want Bruga back so, I think resting a night is good but I think also time is ticking for Bruga.  now how to open that door without getting zapped by the magic glyph.  Plus avoid more o there "warnings.  Battering ram?".

Kree, senuveil, can either of you get on the roof from inside?

"Has it occurred to anyone that they might not be slavers. Heck, they might not even be evil! They had the chance to hit me with a poison dart, and all it did was make me take a short nap. Maybe they would be more open to a knock on the door rather then attempted breaking and entering. I tend to be."

All this is spoken with eyes closed, and one hand rubbing circles across his prodigious tummy.

as he looks about  he says to anyone,..You see, My hungry friend, that is  where Evil gains its  strenght...they are...at very least...underworld folk..else wise there  would be niormal guards, or  there would have been  signs of the city watch..Perhaps...You should walk out the door, and hollar up to the roof top..thanking them  for  ONLY posioning you..because...that must be  the way the greet folks here? Perhaps..If  they meet you face to face, they will greet you more warmly? with a hearty shake of your throat?
