Maki takes a step or two away from the wagon. He couldn't spot anything unusual, and both the driver and the boy seemed ok.

His gaze was fixated on the large man, that was aproaching, as if pearcing his very soul.

OOC: Maki tries to Detect evil on that boss...

In reply to Maki (msg # 344):

Bruga, some D20 rolls please say 3 and a couple of d100's say 2.

Bruga goes to the hatch and climbs down into the grain.

Senuviel and Maki are next closest to Black Bart and start to feel like you are worthless, and not worthy to be near Black Bart - kinda Fear but not fear so elf abilities not affected nor charm - just a feeling you should move off and avoid Black BArts attention - odd feeling but you are drawn to the side of the road like Clair was trying to act small.

Maki - NO EVIL, NO EVIL INTENT on you.

Kree you are starting to feel the affects but not that bad.

The driver quakes from the road side Oh master Kree, this could be bad or good.

The lad seems un affected by Black Bart.

Actions.

Kree stiffens his resolve. He nods , without looking to the Driver,...The blame shall fall on me, should he ....wish to pass his  wrath about....

Then  he pushed the  Latch so it hangs inside the lid, and gently lays the hatch down, leaving the seam open, as it is blocked by the latch,he says  softly into the hatch,..if things go badly, Good Bruga? stay silent, and escape when you can...

Then he moves a bit forward of the hatch, his bow....seemingly harmless. As the Elf eyes the rider.

Re: On the way there

In reply to Bruga Honeyfinder (msg # 348):

Black Bart approaches the wagon.  Yup he is huge, a big un.  Horse included.  kree you feel the need to escape - get out of his way, get down and move to the side of the road.  Which you do without realizing it.

Bruga you get into the hatch and down the one side of the grain, but well, are having trouble getting about in the grain somehow surviving swimming in it though how you do not know.  the area in the wagon is vast compared to the outside - or is it just claustrophobia setting in?  you also feel the need to escape and well, get the heck out of dodge.

Bruga please, another 3 D20's and a D100 if you can.

Black Bart dismounts and approaches the driver.  He is huge standing 10' tall by everyone assumptions.  He looks to the driver, well?  why are you not at your meeting point?

The driver stammers, looks about to escape then slowly points to Kree, they stopped me last and wanted to search the wagon.  Fools think we run contraband within the wagon instead of grain.  i did first run into trouble with some bandit humanoids but they were not much just had to cut our way out and had been trying to make up time when they stopped me. He stammers some more then fall silent.

Black Bart looks to the group, everyone feels like they are holding a weight over there heads.

The lad chirps up, We was poliyte an all an they started out nice but got pushy bout stopping us or we could have meet ya on time.

Black Bart looks to the driver, well, do not just stand there stammering, get back up and get  this tub of wood going, i got me a delivery to make an you ain't getting it done.

The driver and lad jump back on the wagon and s=get the team of horses started.

Group actions??

Clair and snare just stand off tot he side.

Re: On the way there

Maki notices everyone's uneasiness, as Black Bart arrives. Having found nohing at all wrong, he realises that they just waisted their own, and the farmer's time.

"Bruga get out of there, we're leaving!"He first yells to his companion.

Then he turns to Bart and takes a few steps closer. "Sir, i apologise for me and my friends on delaying the wagon even further. We're tracking a rather tricky individual, and thought he might use the wagon for hiding something."

07:53, Today: Maki rolled 4 using 1d20. GM requested roll.

Re: On the way there

In reply to Bruga Honeyfinder (msg # 356):

The driver back in his seat calls the lad to make sure the hatch and wagon is secure then turn to Black Bart, sir, YOU deal with these foolish ghost hunters so I can get back on schedule.

The lad does a quick run the wagon and fiddles with the chains on the back door resetting them some and jumps up onto the top of the wagon (fairly easily) and resets the hatch then jumps into his seat all way quicker then you thought possible.

Black Bart looks to the group, OK you meddlers, I would have a right mind to fine you for this delay and make you complete hard labor as restitution BUT I am behind schedule and need this wagon accounted for SO I'll let you off this time.

Remounts his huge horse and escorts the wagon away.

Bruga, you got down because you also got that feeling like the others to get to the side of the road.

Everyone is now standing a the side of the road watching the wagon and Black Bart move away.  The feeling slowly fades.  you can freely do what you want.

Clair whispers once they are out of site, Black Bart was an illusion, he was really a little Gnome on a pony in robes, not sure what the feeling was but that was creepy.  I am guessing we should get to the Gypse camp but remember that fighting seen down the road yer?

Re: On the way there

He watches the wagon roll away, he shakes his head, crouches and  Call Snare over to him, When Snare comes Over, he  ruffles  his head and smiles , abit abashedly, well, Boy?...looks like we may have been wrong,

as he  fuzzes the doogies head he looks  down the road at the wagon, why would he need to maintain such a guise, even over his own people?

then his eyes  narrow a bit  as he  says  to Bruga,..we wee not...Bulling fools...we acted on a Hunch...if it had  proved right, we would have saved some ppor souls...HAd they allowed  us to  check without  hassel? they would have  been gone and on time....it has been my experiance ...when someone acts Guilty, they most likely...are...

..I have a feeling, that is  not the last, we shall hear of that one...

Re: On the way there

As they prepare to go, Kree gets ready to Jog out ahead as Point, he looks at Maki for a second, with a tilt of his head. There is no malice in his voice, just honest question,we do not know...why they people running that wagon, were so worried, and , according to Fair Clair, had a Gnome who guised himself as a darkwarrior, and spread  concern through us all....we may have been right, and not found the compartments...we may have been wrong..and the cost was just, a few moments of their time.

I just wish you to think on this, since...you are the Holy warrior, and I am a Mere Hunter....had we found  people in that wagon, that were taken to be slaves..or worse..would you not have  wanted to aid them? his wry smile only goes up one side,..there is no waste of time. when it comes to aiding those who cannot aid themselves, perhaps...had your people been plagued by slavers, your thought  might   be more....pointed?</DarkGreen

With a nod to Maki, he says,<DarkGreen>.it is good for you to question, some  actions  i may take. For vengence fuels my actions towards slavers, and slaver friends...but..temper that with this.
he pauses for a moment to get his thoughts,..Evil uses Good's intentions, to aid its work. The best way to fight  Evil, is to fight as Evil would.

Pointing to Clair and the others,..we have  been cheated, and used, by the darkest of our foes...WE...US...almost delivered our Dwarven friend intgo slavery, as well as Poor  Snare...so..my trust is at a low level....for that? I hope you can forgive my actions..

Grinning sheepishly, there seems to be no worry whether he is forgiven, merely..understood... Kree will lope off to the point.

Re: On the way there

Maki shrugs at Kree's words. "Don't take my words wrongly. I've seen the driver of that wagon hold a crossbow, ready to shoot. I think things could escalate quickly. But i can't hold it against him. In the end it was us that tried to stop the wagon. It was normal to think we might have bad intentions.

Better to waist some time and come up with nothing, then ignore a good hunch. Maybe next time you'll be correct."

Re: On the way there

Senuviel returns his arrow to the quiver and shoulders his bow. He goes to Clair and Bruga as he exchange some words with them. Are you ok, friends? That was quite a sensations, eh? The elf gives a stern look at Clair. Iluusion, uh. Darn coward gnome. This just adds to the suspicion that fellow's guilty. The warrior/mage pauses a bit. Well, we are not the king's guard, the gnome had his right to think we were bullies, after all.

The elf walks alone for some seconds and the gets to Maki. Don't worry big friend Senuviel taps Maki in the back. Kree has never let us down. You'll learn how to trust his instincts despite all his harsh decisions. Senuviel smiles and continues walking beside the Holy Warrior.

In reply to Bruga Honeyfinder (msg # 364):

You head back down the road toward the Gypse camp area.  you pass a juncture were there was a brutal fight but now a bit longer ago.  nothing remains worthy of your inspections.  The road intersect another trail.  do you stay on the road toward the gypse camp area or take the trail as it will end up looping toward the swamp and another spot by the gypse camp?
