In reply to Senuviel Alantir (msg # 115):

Update tonight but Maki, good job you killed em when you needed to.  He had 2 hp left and doing 3 was the magic number :)   the thugs swing though potent to do severe damage to Maki only slams down hard without a follow through on his armor as he dies with Maki's slashing blow.

OOC - you all won init against him since he fell and had not made it to the round for init again.

"Good riddance to bad rubbish." Maki said. He took a step closer, to feel the thug's pulse on his neck.

"He's soon going to die. Does anyone want to keep him alive for interogation? It definately was wierd with this ambush, though i think they only wanted to loot our corpses."

Re: On the way there

In reply to Bruga Honeyfinder (msg # 119):

While Kree is off down the ally way the4 group finds this stuff:

A spell book and a glowing dagger on the mage, 2 very nice looking clean in good shape shields and two suites of Leather that do not look worse for where, 2 beat up shields and 2 suites of very warn leather.  4 non glowing daggers, 4 long swords, 2 short swords, a mace and a club, 50 gp, 78 sp 129 cp.   The wright is not the typical undead Clair has seen before, it looks like it should be undead but is not quite undead.  The thugs are all male between the ages of 14 and 40.  No markings or anything.

Yiu all are hurt, some badly.  Clair has 1 spell left but you all have potions of healing and Maki's lay on hands too if you wish to heal up or risk it and move on.

You hear nothing Kree as you move down the ally way, though you think you can hear your group making some noise but no battle sounds.

"Does anyone need immediate help?" Maki asked, but he quickly noticed it was him that was hurt the most.

He lays his hand over the wound on his neck, and after concentrating for a few seconds it dissapears. A few other wounds remain though.

OOC: Maki is interested in the shield...

Kree will search a bit down the alley, if he finds nothing, he  will return to the resy, he will also, from time to time, look up at the rooftops, in case he is being watched.

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg # 124):

Bruga drinks a dose of healing healing a scratch and Maki lays on hands healing some of his wounds.

Bruga finds his dagger.

Kree does not find anything and returns

no one else finds much Maki takes one of the better looking shields.

There is 2 good looking suites of Leather and 1 good looking shield left.  2 beat up suites of Leather and shields.  A glowing dagger and some normal weapons.

Senuviel takes the spell book and whistles his approval.

OOC:Maki and Groddam are interested in the 2 good looking shields.  Any other takers for them or the leather or dagger?

Bruga takes the dagger. I'm hurting. We need to see a healer. We'd better take the armor and sell it.

Re: On the way there

Senuviel examines the spellbook for a while and then he notices some parchment tucked in there. The elf opens the parchment and let a soft whistle out.

Hey mates, you have to see this.

The elf then shows the note on the parchment to everybody. It is written:

" Take harry, larry, willy, lou, jock, crudar the fake, jeramy and set up an ambush in the ally way tonight.  there will be a troop of fools you need to take out.  your pay is in the water barrel at the end of the ally way.

Astar.

Well...there's still some payment to collect on the water barrel, aye. Bruga, would mind checking the barrel? The warrior/wizard then speaks to everybody again. We are deep involved in this, my friends, and as I've said before, at the weird trail with the fake king, it seems Astar has the upper hand on us. He's always a step ahead. We must find a way to turn this tide, as soon as possible.

Bruga checks out the barrel. If there are any traps, he fails to find them.

OOC: Were Bruga a merchant, he'd follow the "Buy high, sell low." strategy.

Re: On the way there

In reply to Bruga Honeyfinder (msg # 130):

Bruga goes to the end of the ally way and finds a rain barrel an empty barrel and a barrel marked water.

Checking out all three barrels he finds no traps and begins investigating the three barrels.

Bruga, what do you do to check out the barrels.

The rain barrel is 1/2 full of mucky water weighs a lot.  The empty barrel as a sealed lid and the barrel marked water is full of water, you would not drink it but maybe the street urchents would.

No one is about though a bar across the way is noisy.

Actions anyone else?

OOC - Groddam and Maki took the fine good looking shields.  Bruga took the glowing dagger.  Who took the 2 suites of fine good looking leather, 2 suites of worn yuky leather and shields plus an odd array of normal weapons and the coin? Or did you leave all that stuff in the ally??

Re: On the way there

Possibly with assistance, Bruga turns the empty barrel upside down and then right-side up. If necessary, he asks somebody with a sword to probe the water barrel.

If the empty barrel yields nothing, he orients the barrel toward light and uses his mirror to see inside.

Maki takes all the weapons that were lying around. He doesn't bother to take of armor from the fallen fools. As the letter is read, he asked: "Who is Astar? Do you know the guy that had set up this ambush?"

OOC: I'd also like to know if the new shield is any better then my old wooden one.

Re: On the way there

Senuviel keeps the parchment safe as he explains what he knows so far.

Astar is an elf enslaver therefore he's a traitor of the elves. When Kree and I get our hands on this dirty fellow, justice will be swift. After some moments of silence, Senuviel speaks again in a somber tone. He was also our first employer. Now, if you gentlemen have finished the looting, let's move, shall we? The elf turns to Bruga. Have you found their payment? And....where's Kree?

OOC: Senuviel has eaten one of the fruitcakes he's gotten for xmas...do they have any curative powers or are they just delicious?

Re: On the way there

In reply to Maki (msg # 137):

it seams the empty barrel is empty, the barrel with water in it just has water.  Groddam, while waiting for Bruga to finish his barrel rolling, notices that the wall of the building where the barrels where up against looks like it was freshly fixed.

Maki and group - The 2 very fine looking shields do not have any rust on them and appear to be in great shape.  The two sets of very fine looking leather appear to look brand new and the slashes and gashes your weapons should have done against them are only scratches on the leather.  The other two shields and suites of leather are beaten, bent and cut up - very well worn.  The weapons are in a varying state of normalcy - not magical.

Clair comments, guys, I think those two shields and those two suites of leather armor might be magical.  Senuviel, do you have any way to detect magic on them?   i also have two spells left both blesses or cure lights.

You see Kree walking back.

Actions?
