Re: On the road yet again

Maki doesn't hasitate and takes a shiled and his morning star into his hands.
"As far as i know mist usualy appears in the mornings, not evenings." He says with a firm voice and it's evident he does not like the situation.

He concentrates as he tries to determine, if this mist caries anything evil inside.

OOC: Maki detects evil...

Re: On the road yet again

In reply to Maki (msg # 589):

Senuviel - your arrows penetrate the pine needle floor and you here a louder chitter chatter and the floor starts to move then a strand come whisking out at you.

And hits you square, you take no damage but you are now being wrapped in a sticky strand you fear comes from a spider.  just as Kree also comes to mind this is a simple ambush tactic and strands look to be from spiders.

Next round

Init Senuviel and Kree and actions

Kree, the strand that misses you recoils back past you into the pine needle floor as another comes shooting out at you.

Senuviel another strand fires at you - you are getting pinned but can still maneuver/shoot though you think that will not be too long as this strand encircles you.

Bruga arrives back at the camp as the mist get's heavier - almost like fog you think.

Maki, yes, this should not be happening at night.
Yenchew and Clair start to make torches and stick them in the ground around the camp say 5 ' radius circle out.  Clair and Yenchew state torches fire should burn off the fog around us.   Clair asks - Where did those two get to they should be back soon

Clair, should you and I hold torches while Yenchew gathers more wood? This fog, you think it's unnatural? There's an awful lot of it...what if we go about settin the woods on fire?

"Shhhh... you hear that?" Maki asks. "I think i heard a wistle. I hope those two that wondered off aren't in trouble. but if we separate now and look for them, we'll be in even greater danger."

He keeps his weapon ready, as he scans the surroundings for danger.

Re: On the road yet again

In reply to Maki (msg # 594):

Yes, please roll a d100 Maki and Bruga then Bruga roll another D100.

Yenchew looks to Bruga, more torches yes but setting the woods on fire  looks to Maki then back to Bruga, I think someone may not think that is prudent,

Senuvial roll you to hit, you can pull your sword out and try to cut the strand attached to you.

Kree, roll initial damage for an oil flask 1-8 (This is round one of an interesting fire you are creating within a dry bed of pine needles that err you both are in also)  I hear a Johny Cash some - ring of fire ...

Two strands fire out and miss Kree and Senuvial.

OK Kree, roll a D100 to see how far back you stepped backed oh and a D 20 Wisdom role too as Senuvial could not step back so we shall see how far away you dumped the oil from Senuvial.

Re: On the road yet again

In reply to Maki (msg # 601):

Bruga heres a whistle in the wind off to one side - perhaps from Kree and Senuviel?

Maki hears nothing but the rustle of the wind against the trees.

----------------------------------------

Kree you poured the oil out as far away as possible from Senuviel and are off the majority of pine needles.

Senuviel severs the strand holding him, part of it whips back into the underneath of the line needles.  The fire is about two rounds away

as the fire flashed this first round you can see the pine needle floor move like it is a wave - obviously something under there is moving away quickly.

The situation was fishy at best. And the paladin worried, that there might be orcs nearby, which they followed for so long.

Now that  the Fire  has started, Kree tucks the Flint and steel into his  tunic, and draws his Blade...if the ripple is moving towards him..he  will try to time his  stab and  jam the Blade into the Needles..if it is  Movign away from Him, but..towards his friend...he   will try to catch up to it ( race the flames) aand  drive his Blade  in from behind.

Re: On the road yet again

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg # 606):

The flash from the first (round) flickers of flame has now spread - rather alarmingly fast - to the floor of the whole pine glade and up each pine tree.   Senuviel has backed up to you but unfortunately you both feel the heat burning on your exposed areas, each take a point of damage.  Oh and facial hair eyebrows, ends of your hair on your head and arms/legs is burned off.  Much like Maki had happen when he went into that burning building.

OOC - could have been really bad if Kree had not rolled so well.  the place is packed with dried needles and dried webbing (invisible to your eyes).  the trap speung has sprung back on the setters.

You are forced to back up from the heat but you hear high pitched screams and think you see shadowy forms racing about then curling into balls consumed in burning bright balls of flame.

Maki, Bruga and crew, near the way Bruga points it looks like some one let off a fire ball for the night sky is now bright as can be as you see what looks like a section of trees has caught on fire and burning heavily. And you all know, anyone withn 10 miles could see this - or at least a few miles away.

Backing from the fire and trying to protect his bow and arrows Senuviel withdraws from the glade. What was that? Spiders? I'm a bit bruised but I'm ok, how about you? I think we'd better get to the others.

Yenchew looks to the group in camp - the fog/mist is lifting.  Looks to the fire blazing brightly in the night. Sighs, Guess we aught to investigate for if it is Kree and senuvial out there they may need help.

Grins and looks to Maki, your going to be a pro dealing with fire soon arren't you,  chuckles no offense please my friend then turns and heads off toward the blaze.

Clair shrugs, looks to Maki and smiles then turns and follow Yenchew, might as well go from the pan into the fire and see what we have chuckling too.  snare follows Clair.

Kree and Senuvieal, yes you do think you see some silhouetted spiders leave out the sides, you cannot be sure how many but they were of various sizes and not interested in you two any more.

Kree  watches as he sheaths his sword and  brings his bow up...i would like to see, if these creatures  have left any survivors  wrapped up....if the flames kill them, it  matters , not..for they were dead anyway....we should search for weapons and such....you never know what Tymora  will hand us, through Beshaba's  hands...
