A New Year and the world as we know it is progressing good for the heroes, average for the villains and on Par for the rest of the cast.

There is plenty left for all in this DM guided time frame and as always, any time, any one or group could decide (role play) to go and do something totally out of the guided DM path.  Totally fine, just remember this is an evolving world that not only your group(s) but other group(s) are making an impact on what happens to all.  So both good and evil are at play here.

Hey GM, I´m not sure my xp for next level is updated, apparently, I leveled up, but not sure though.

Don't know. There have been no changes in his abilities for a long time.

I've been here for years , Bruga...only had one change...its a slow paced  game. I have that in my  D&Dsih based  game.

 My space  game, that has my own sustem works alot faster  for development..and?..its more active ( 65K posts!)

True; I simply didn't know if XP had been added. The GM sets XP anyway.

Yea, in truth level and experience are not high on the list and I take my time with experience allotments since gaming and character role playing I thought was more enjoyable but maybe if you want to get higher levels quicker means I dig deeper into the monster manual and those bad guys lol

Yes, anyone can share spell books it just cost to copy spells into your own book.

Action ebs and flows here, I am in a slow period with Dming but soon I will ramp it up a bit if you all wish to move a little faster in the game.

Also, so far no really bad encounter rolls have happened so nothing terrible yet but  the world is changing as I type.  Some one rolled a questionable encounter and let the dogs out....

Senuviel  - you are 4th/4th  so you went up in Mage.

For your Mage HP - Roll a D4 twice and take the best roll then add in any Constitution bones THEN divide by 2 and add that to your Hit Points.

Please be aware that we will "shortly" be moving RPoL to a shiny new server in a different location (Silicon Valley, California).

RPoL has been running off it's current software for about nine years now.  The operating system is out of date and no longer supported.  The hardware was upgraded once, three years ago, but the hard drives are the original and one has failed.  It's time to move to a newer operating system and newer equipment.

Our current host (NetDepot) has been very good to us but pricing has unfortunately increased for a modern equivalent of what we currently have.  Additionally virtualisation allows for a dedicated-like experience at a fraction of the cost.  In this instance 19/52s of a fraction, or around 36.5% of our current cost (if you want to be all user-friendly about it).

We'll be going from 3 GB memory to 8, a faster CPU (though less cores), and storage will be nice and fast on SSD (rather than 9 year old spinning disks).  Initial testing is promising and the new server looks very fast (up to 4 times faster for a very complex page), though take that with a grain of salt as it's not under any load at the moment.

Due to the fact we have to move a lot of data between locations there will be some downtime while the new server is updated with the latest from the current.  I will do dry runs before the final migration to give you a better estimate of the time it will take.

I'm not sure when exactly.  NetDepot have informed us they need to move our server in the next few days so it'd be nice to get it done by then, but I don't think I'd have sufficient testing by then to be comfortable to pull the trigger.
