OK, new thread to deal with the next section.

I'll keep this in one thread but some of you may be PM'd depending on where each sub group.  Remember, you control your characters destiny so role play accordingly.  Some may be separated for a time but ultimately you all will rejoin at some point.   DM hint, It is easier to have one group then a bunch of little groups (unless the players role play it hat way).   Evil DM chuckle.

First up will be the failed there fear check and PM's for the brave few left standing.

Note if you did not role a save, you decided to run with the scared group.

Everyone who "failed" there save please roll a D4, D12 and a D20.  Please :)

Cavaliers are immune to fear - you need to roll a D20 for a save at -2 and of you fail you need to roll a D4, D12 and D20.

Oh enjoy your vacation, no worries if you are late posting I am assuming Maki either failed or decided to retreat the the group running crazily to try to keep and eye on them as they ran in case you needed to protect them.  If you wish to roll your save and make it and stay that is fine too.

   Hearing the Noise, Kree tries to find  Cover, to lay in ambush. He is   getting a bit  tired and..to be honest, angered at himself  for running. He has  bow, he should not be running...

Now back to the game, Elric has fallen as a fog of gas enveloped him, Bruga, Clair and Sila plus Snare are fighting two Orc leaders though one held is bleeding from the neck profusely and the other Orc is pulling something out of his pocket.

Maki and Senuviel are dealing with something advancing on there position.

Kree is dealing with a bunch of somethings advancing on his position.

Dixon, Amarisa and Yenchew are MIA (Amarisa and Yenchew are still in the game).

New round so I would like everyone's actions please :)

  Kree will settle in   and  wait with his  bow ready. Still trying to shake the anger and  confusion of  running  scared.

Senuviel walks slowly and carefully, paying attention to his surroundings, he signals Maki to be ready for action as he says: Who comes there! Show yourself! Be you friend or foe?show yourself!!

Maki is ready with his shield and weapon in case the foe part was truer.

Relieved by seeing his friend coming out of the bush. Me too, my friend, and I bet good Maki here also wants to know what’s going on. Come, there’s battle going on nearby, out friends may need our help. By saying this, Senuviel starts moving towards the sounds of battles.

Aye, I agree. Whoever did this to us was either really lucky or knew exactly what was doing. See, he or it was able to separate the warriors from the rest of the group, I’m pretty sure Claire, Bruga and the others can handle things on their own way but I’m afraid they’ll be in trouble if they get outnumbered. The elf walks steadily towards the sound of battle.

With no intimidate threats looming Sila will use her time to tend to the injured and dead.  figuring that the others are more than capable of handling what remains.

She will cast healing spells for those that she can help save and close the eyes for those that she can not.  As she cast her healing spell she begins to glow.  "Receive a gift from the goddess"

Elric is dead.  Sila closes his eyes.  He died not of physical wounds for he is unmarked. You think whatever was cast upon him killed him.

The the first ORC held collapses dead with a knife wound to his throat and bleed to death.  he looks to be the Chief of the tribe you attacked earlier.

the Shamon, is still held in place but he is blue and not breathing.  he also is cut up and bleeding.


Maki, Senuviel and Kree show back up next round then Amarisa follows a round later.

That round is when the Orc Shamen becomes un held and drops to the ground also dead.  his hand is stil in his pocket as he lays crumpled on the ground.

OOC - not sure if anyone was wounded in he battle but Silla will heal you some (I will check and get back with you on that).

Bruga wipes off his daggers on a relatively clean part of orken garb and begins to search the bodies.

  Kree  arrives  with   the others,  still in a somewhat foul mood...who all is missing,  we must find them  before   we hunt down and Kill whatever  caused this!

"I am quite impressed with the work here." Maki comments, as he sees the fallen Orcs. "If there are none left nearby, then we should look for anyone missing." He agrees with Kree, but his eyes scan the surrounding, if there is any more threats.

With her spells now cast Sila's glow fades and she returned back to her normal self.

Curious what the shaman was reaching for she carefully removed his hand from his pocket to see what it was that he was reaching for.

She will also check for any useful components or scrolls.

Standing there in disbelief that Sila out did Bruga (and DM chuckling) Sila looks into the grey orb and see something then her eyes turn grey and she plops down cross legged staring at the Orb.

 Walking back to the others, kree says,..Made a circuit around the area?   I do not see them...or...their bodies?. I know i ran a fair  piece before  i stopped....

Bruga stares. Your eyes...they've turned grey.

The news from Bruga settled in. "Really Grey?"

Sila looked around at the others trying to determine if her vision had been altered as well

For now she placed the troublesome orb inside one of her pouches

Senuviel gets to Sila as soon as Bruga managed to cover the orb. Your eyes, Sila, they’re gray. Do you feel ok? What have you seen in the orb? Did it show you something or said something to you? Anyway, can you hand me the orb? I won’t touch it but I might be able to cast an identification spell or at least check the strength of its magic and maybe its origin.

The warrior/wizard then addresses Kree: I know you want to lay vengeance on whoever did this to us but I think we must regroup, go to the nearest town, re-equip ourselves and study the orb Sila has just gotten her hands into, it might be useful if we understand it. Also… Senuviel grabs Kree by his arm and goes away from the group with the ranger, the elf fighter/mage looks really serious and concerned as he says something to Kree’s ears only…

  As Senuviel speaks to him, Kree will looks  around, nodding at points. his gaze  will return to Sila. Then to Senuviel,..You have the right of it. We should  try and Find  a near by town that we can rest ....and heal...Then?  we can move on. We still have two Missing comrades to either  confirm their death, or recover  from the actions of the fell magic that sent us  running....

Aye! Let’s find our missing comrades and then move along.

Bruga goes back to searching the bodies.

  Kree jerks his head  for Senuviel to follow him , as they take  another  circuit to try  find signs  of their  missing  comrades,..I must confess? I am U&nsure  where to go, to reach the nearest town? Something we may wish to look into , when we get a chance...a Map that we  may add  notes to as we travel?...Have you any idea, which way  to go, to reach the next town?

"We were heading east, as I recall. I'm sure if we find a road and follow it, we'll eventualy reach a settlement. But we should find our friends first. If we move on, it might be even harder to regroup, then if we wait here. Does any of you have any means to send a signal, high in the sky? Perhaps our friends will then find their way here. Of course we also need to be ready, in case our enemies see it and investigate." Maki said.

 Kree Listens to Maki, ..The arrows i carry are for show, though  may use them should i chose?...I can waste an arrow or two as a flaming arrow  and shoot  them straight into the air?, But anyone, or anything in the area  will see it as well.... Perhaps? If   launch and arrow  or  two and we call out  a Name, they may hear us....make their way to us?

"I know that it has effected  my vision, but not exactly sure how much." She glanced toward the sun and quickly covered her eyes,  "I'm more sensitive to light"

"As for the orb, if your certain that you willing to risk the same fate as I.  Maybe the effects are only temporary"  Sila provide the orb for Senuviel to examine.

Sila will glance over the bodies of the fallen taking note if her altered vision shows anything unusual.

Let’s hope this doesn’t get worse. Says Senuviel in a kind tone. I’ll check the orb, but not here, this requires a more secure and controlled environment. I’ll do it in the city. If we get into one.

You see obvious trials from those who ran and think you caan pick out where the others may have gone (Dixon and Yenchew)

Amarisa, Senuviel, Bruga, Clair, Snare, Sila, Maki and Kree are the groups count.

I shall assume everyone is still gaming so onword to find the lost two.

You devise One ran in Maki's direction and one in Amarisa's.  Which way do you all head or split up?

   Once they  gathered  together,  the body burning behind them, Kree  says,..I  think we had  enough of  splitting up for a bit, aye? So, let us  follow the trail that Maki took, se if we can find that fellow....then...return here  and see if  we can find the other one...with any luck, they will see the pyre, and   come  back to this  site and wait?

 if  Everyone is agreed, Kree  will Motion of Senuviel to take point with him, and the  others  following, watching the  party's  back.

Bruga, not being invited to take the van, takes the rear.

The group travels Maki's path, for a long while. they come across a few odd tracks at some point then they round a curve ina the trial and by an old Willow tree you see what was a battle.  two human fomrs lay besides an ugly odd form, Kree thinks he has seen this form --  does the group get closer?

  Kree   Brings Up his  bow,  the arrow appearing as he  draws back the String, he is ready to losse that shaft  and   another  as  fast as he can draw back the string, and the shaft appears,..HOLD!...CREATURE!..That Beastie! I hit  it with a Shaft before, after  i stopped  running...

   If the creature  moves to attack,  Kree with loose the shaft's  as  fast as  his  enchanted  bow  will allow.

Senuviel raises his bow: It appears to be dead, too. Cover me. I’m checking it out. The elf disarms his bow, he moves slowly and carefully, his spell prepared to be released at any sight of sudden movement.

  Kree nods  to his freend  , Keeping the arrow  focused on the creature. If it Moves   suddenly, Kree will fire at it, and apologize later.

Oh, it is very much dead, Yenchew sword's broken blade is stuck deep in it's chest and there are burn marks and other wounds upon the creature to.

Yenchew and Dixon are both also dead, horrifically disfigured part aged part burned and frozen.  It looks like the three fought to the death though upon further investigation, there are a few ohter tracks, one heavy footed humanoid and one horse like but they disappear a few yards away after combining together.


Actions?

  Kree Turns  and   Fires the   glowing arrow in the  direction they came  from, rather then just waste it.

   He moves over   to search their  Comrades and the creature,  to take whatever  items  will be of use to the group.

   Pointing in the direction of the tracks, he says,May as  well continue to follow these tracks, see if what killed  everyone ehere is  light or dark....

Senuviel nods in agreement. Aye. Poor sods, they proved themselves worthy the short period of time they’d spent with us. Specially the orc. The elf lets a deep sigh escape. Well, let’s call Claire, Sila and Maki, these two need a proper burial and some blessings.

As Maki aproaches and sees, that their fellow comrads have fallen, he says a prayer for both their souls.

"I'll help burry them." He offers to Senuviel and Kree. Sadnes was seen in his eyes, but the paladin said nothing further.

Before burial, let's see what they, uh, bequeathed says Bruga. He searches the bodies and lays out what he finds.

  Kree thanks Sila for her   care, then ...This is the hardest part of  our  line of work. Everyone take  what they can use, No matter how we use it, it will be thier  last aid they may offer us.

 With my bow?  I do not need the arrows, The quiver i carry is more  for show, and to surprise  those  who see a lighted shaft fly at them, without me taking one  from my quiver.

 Kree will take the  oil and the flint and steel, and the grapple Hook.

 ..Bruga?  Please  either splitn the  Money or place it in your pack, we can split it later, if we every fins a Village again....

Bruga starts by taking the money and stowing it. He takes the rations and the dagger, and waits to see what others want.

Senuviel finishesa prayer in elvish and then grabs the quiver. Well..my quiver is not for show, so I’ll take this one. He then grabs the spellbook and hand it to Amarisa. Here…you might consider taking a look into it, get the scrolls, too.

  Kree calls back, If no one  else  can use it, i will carry the longbow, until we find a place to sell it. But if anyone can use  it...they should.

Clair helps in the pray and burying the bodies.  I am not sure where either lived nor their families.  take all the gear split among us.   Even the chain mail, it can be sold to.

Snare sniffs at teh creature, Clair states, I have never seen such a a vile oddly created beast.  I believe foul magic was at hand.

I think we follow our path into the mountains hilly slope area East ward like we have been directed.  there has to be some type of civilization sooner or later.

The slavers have really built up a very strong netwok it seems and with the aid of humanoids we have to find the base soon.


Amarisa, maybe you can find scrying material soon and get that scroll scryied into your book?



Snare jumps back as you see the creature slowly turn to dust before your eyes and a great sigh and whoosh of air passes by the group.  Your hear a whisper part wind part voice - thank you all for freeing me, now I can be at peace - my home on the mountain side is not far away, look to the talking bird and you are there...

  Kree  turns   as snare  Jumps  back, the sigh and the  words, make him shake his head,..a talking Bird...... that is  just wonderful.....

 he     looks around at his friends,...we should decide  now, if  we should wear these  cloaks or not? If they are   off light magic, they could save  us, if they are  for the drakness, we should destroy them..

 shucking  Off his pack,  he   takes out t the  New cloak  and   rolls his   old  one tightly. he  Puts the  new cloak on,..I hope Tymora  and  Beshaba  watch over us...

Sila comments, "There are a few spells that I find to be useful in the spell book,  I would like use of it while we are in the next town."   

  Kree  listens to the others  and  he  steps a bit closer tot eh group as he  adjusts the 'new  cloak, his pack  and  quiver,Sila  has the right of it... if there are spells she can use, she   should either   copy them , or learn them, anything any of us can use, aids the rest of us, in living   another  10 day or so!

I prefer so, as in so much, much longer Bruga "votes".

OOC - alas, mother nature has made December 24th a tropical paradise (and given the DM a cold) so everyone get's 100 Exp for the DM being under the weather and not posting clear info while basking in the tropical weather where snow should be the norm.

    2 tbsp rum
    1 tbsp honey
    1 slice of lemon and a squeeze of lemon juice
    1 cinnamon stick
    Boiling water

Instructions

    Add the rum, honey, lemon and cinnamon to a mug.
    Fill up with water and stir to mix.
    Taste and add more honey or lemon if desired.

To the mountains the group goes, partially following the beasts trial for a little bit.

Bruga proceeds, unwilling to pause unless the group does...though perhaps the flesh is weaker than such spirit.

FYI, I will be away and not able to access the internet near abouts, January 10th - January 17th, I will catch up the group then, in the mean time you all can role play postings as you head toward the mountains.  Else enjoy the time to catch up on Real Life stuff :)   be prepared for some heavy actions in two weeks as things are heating up in your world.
