Bruga looks Tweed over. Well, if you want to stand guard, I'll lie down and take a nap...be sure to call me when it's time to eat.

"We're hunting slavers as well. If you can tell us where you brother might be, we could go and assist him, if he is not back by morning." Maki says, eager to learn more about this family as well.

And so they march on toward the mountains

In reply to Maki (msg # 65):

She busies herself making a large pot of stew.  Putting in bunches of carrots, beats, corn, cabbage, and salted beef by the looks of it, mixes in spices and more vegies.  takes some of your offered food and added it to the mix.   The aroma is mouth watering.

As she cooks she talks, the lad, his father is a minor and works our vein in the day time and is out by night.  My brother will be back in he morning at worst.  Slavers you say and Orcs to boot.  My my, we have some things in common then.

We settled here a long time ago and built up the village on the far hillside, mined for anything you could dig out and sell then raised animals and crops.  Orcs came out of the mountains  not long after we been here a while.  First it was raiding parties but they never made it home hen we found there camp and had a fun time taming them and for a long while they kept to themsleves only visiting to trade or exchange stuff but recently hey got all sired up - she pauses to get out bowls and spoons - another feirce clan showed up and took control.  We did them in good and those that were left also setled in for a while but now I guess a bunch of humans have started up trafficking and got those Orcs involved.

Last night they tried to take old man whitlers mare, foul, milking cow and puppies.  We got wind of it and beat em Orcs to the pass.  Most escaped hurt bad but the human leading it got away.  My brother went to deal wth the orcs so he be back my morn.

She stops chatting and hands out bowls, Tweed comes in a this point, Pa be n soon, heard the roaster crow twice.  Looks the group over then gets a bowl and slopps out some sew into it and sets at the table and starts eating.

Senuviel helps himself some stew, he helps Kree with the dishes and also puts some more burning logs into the fire. Aye! It would be nice to have a night of sleep indoors, just for a change. We could even guard the farm this night. Saying this the elf takes a seat by the window as soon as he finishes helping Kree.

Bruga demonstrates that halflings are, perhaps, bigger on the inside than on the outside.

In reply to Bruga Honeyfinder (msg # 69):

The barn would be, unsafe for you at night.  she smiles and cheerfully states but I have enough room here in the house for all of you, looks at snare, including you my boy and smiles.  snare seems enthralled wags his tail and sits so she can give him any attention possible.   Clair just chuckles at that.

Tweed remarks, they ain'ts taken my spot, right.   no Tweed, you earned your spot here in the house an guests they may be you have your spot so rest easy on that.... now how wants some pie for desert, I have apple and peach cobbler.  Had a nich chocolate berry pie BUT someoone had to have 4ths.... but it was so good states Tweed.

The sun has set and the moon is rising as it is getting dark, she moves about the house lighting a few lanterns while she awaits what desert you all want.

You here some one walking up onto the porch, and a heavy object crunch and clank to the wooden porch floor then a heavy sigh, in a deep male voice, best saved me some of that stew I smell al the way out here, i am famished.

Kree will opt  for the Apple  pie, But Tell the young lady to allow the others  to pick, and he will be happy with whatever is left. He makes  his way over to his pack and weapons , looking out the window as an excuse to be there.

..is that the lad's  father , then?

Bruga eats or drinks only what the hosts do, and if what's served comes out of the same container.

The front door opens ans a big wide burly Dwarf stomps in, hurumphs and looks at each one of you, intent deep soul searching stare.  then he smiles and opens his arms welcome to my humble home.

I see you have meet my family already.

He is dressed in a very dirty dust covered cloak and you can tell he has chain mail under it.  Extremely dirty looking.  Has a hammer, Battle axe and Pike axe which he places down in a spot that looks as though he has placed it there for centuries.

Crosses his arms and states, My name is Theoadore and yours (looks at each of you).  His eye are a deep Blue,, grey beard eyebrows still holds the dark grey color as does his hair.

"Hello, I am Maki, a knight of Pelor's. I have heard you had some run in with the slavers lately. I'd like to hear more about it, as we are also fighting against those, who oppress the weaker."

Although this seems like a decent family, Maki checks each of them with his divine stare, if there is any evil about them...

Senuviel raises his left hand in a sign of peace and respect. Hail! I am Senuviel and as the holy warrior here states, I am with the ones who free slaves and lift curses. Please, accept our gratitude for the food, time and space your family has been granting to us. The elf then sits again.

Theoadore smiles and repeats all your names, you can see he is trying to remember them to each of you.

Now, sleeping arrangement, not to worry, we have plenty of room in the house.  the barn is not rightly deserving and around here at night, best we all stay in a better fortified place.   those Orcs, may come back with reinforcements and that barn, though stoutly looking will torch up fast and could trap you all in there, sadly not want I want on my shoulders.

So, shall my lovely wife show you to your rooms now or would you like another helping of desert.  Smiles at the group.

To those that notice, there is plenty of food to go around, like being at your grandparents house and no matter how much you eat, they always have another plate of food/deserts still to be eaten.

I guess I’ve had enough food for today. Thank you very much. Senuviel bows as he thanks the old dwarf and his wife.

Well…I will take my so deserving night of sleep if you don’t mind, I need to be up early in the morning in order to study. The elf then bids farewell to his friends and hosts and goes to sleep. He makes himself as comfortable as possible and then takes his boots and robe off, he keeps his weapons by the reach of his arm, though.

Sila decided to help with the clean up, it was the least that she could do with the family opening up and sharing their house with the group.  Once things were back in order Sila excused herself and stepped outside and cast a spell upon the roof of the house.  She nodded her satisfaction and returned back inside.

"There that should help us in case there be any trouble this night.  This house now carries Isis blessing, I have cast a Wyvern Watch upon the roof of the house, it will alert us if anyone comes close to the house"  With that said she takes leave of those choosing to stay up, She finds a spot to lay out her bedroll on the floor and sat down and opened her book pouring over its contents before she retired for the night.

As Sila is ready to study, Bruga comes to her. We should have somebody on watch during the night. The boy was too easy with his pitchfork, and his boots were clean. Probbly everything is on the up-and-up, but just maybe not.

"Yeah, we should keep a watch, like we usualy do while in the forest. I feel the evil we are chasing is not that far away." Maki comments. It was just his gut feeling. His powers didn't detect any evil nearby or in their hosts.
