Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

A flash blue light suddenly encircles Chemosh, and Tervax gets a first shot off before switching his weapon to full-auto before pandemonium breaks out. Suddenly the humm of dual blaster riffles dies down, indicating that they've been powered, only to be replaced by an ear splitting repetitive sound of them going off in every direction.

Caught in the cross fire, Tervax, Terhk and Chemosh are engulfed by searing bolts of blaster fire. The Mando, experienced to such things takes it like a man[Private to Tervax: 25/63hp], while Chemosh's shield absorbs most of the damage, though his shield weakens considerably, [Private to Chemosh: (you used up two charges - please give me your location you're retreating to)]and Tehrk visibly in pain has a hard time standing up.[Private to Tehrk Ridonal:  You have 1HP left after my unlucky rolls, unless you nullify them with DPs.]

Simultaneously, Eso waves her hand at the two nearest droids, and though they manage to get their shots off, they don't have time to do much else. The Jedi's grasp sends one of the droids into the air and is violently thrown against its counterpart as she herself gets a full dose of lethal. Sparks and smoke fizzles around both, but they quickly regain their stance and will be ready to return the favor, but the Jedi seems to falter.

The last two droids, the furthest back and behind Findos also send their deadly weapons to bear on the group, but the shield around Findos absorbs all of the energy before the dais itself lowers into the ground, the hole slowly closing to seal him off from the combat situation.

I will let everyone sort out how to deal with the damage... unfortunately, a lot of it has been spread around since I've rolled rather well. >.<

TC-11 still gets to act.

[Private to Eso Terra: >.<

As you can see below, you have 4 attacks against you, two of which deal 24/26. Up to you how you deal with the damage, though I assume you have DPs to spend. I was hoping you had block talents... but it doesn't appear so...

21:09, Today: Secret Roll: Power of the Darkside rolled for Droid Attacks / Dam:

Droid #3: 19,25 --> Dam 20,24 // --------------- Findos' Shield takes it
Droid #4: 17,27 --> Dam 16, (14 X 2 = 28)--------------- Findos' Shield takes it
Droid #5: 24,17 --> Dam 23,18 // Chemosh (absorbed #1 / #2) / Eso (24+9) == 33
Droid #6: 26,25 --> Dam 20,15 // Chemosh (absorbed #3 / #4) / Eso (26+7) == 33

08:22, Today: Secret Roll: Eso Terra rolled 24 using 1d20+14 with rolls of 10. UtF. Intercept
DP to negate the second major attack.
]

Eso flicks her hand and a stack of ornaments snap directly into the path of the incoming attack taking the full brunt of the assault. The second clips her in the shoulder spinning her to the side and out of the path of the third shot and into the forth which turns her back the direction she was facing. Her face betrays the pain that is obviously felt even through her armour.

After DR and reactions, total damage taken. 12

[Private to Power of the Darkside: 1 DP used to avoid painful death]

As Tehrk was riddled with blaster bolts, he found himself struggling to realize just what kind of hell he'd got himself involved in. Moving further back, Tehrk did what he could to distance himself from the immediate combat, finding some cover was his priority while also trying to fire and provide a bit of support for the group.

10:40, Today: Tehrk Ridonal rolled 7,1 using 1d20+5,1d20 with rolls of 2,1. Attack1 and Attack2.

Obviously, luck was not on his side.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Chemosh ducks behind the statue, angling it to offer relief for his energy shield via it's cover. It wasn't an optimal solution, but he knows well his energy shield can't take a beating like that forever. Secure as he can possibly be, he begins tapping furiously away at the touch-pad on his WristCom device he may or may not have been overheard as calling MERLIN...

[Private to GM:

Use Computer Roll of 34, attempting to access the buildings wireless network to either get the doors open or broadcast a shutdown command to the droids.

Our heroes move out of the crossfire and take cover behind the statues as Findos' dais lowers into the ground and the ground seals shut behind him. The glow of the force field disappears, and the battle droids advance, as TC-11 wobbles towards relative safety...

Tervax was no fool.  They were heavily outnumbered, and despite the ability to take surprisingly large amounts of damage, there were limits even to what he could withstand.  He fell back a few paces, checking his armor and weapon to make sure nothing was broken or unserviceable before taking a moment to center himself and go over the locations of the enemy droids in his mind.

OOC:
-Move action: Move one up and one left to take cover from the pillars.
-Standard Action: Spend 1 FP to gain DR10 for 1 minute.
-Swift Action: Begin Second Wind (1st of three.)

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Sorry for the delay folks, life's been a tad hectic.

Eso's use of Force skill raises dust and debris that resulted from the recent weapons fire, and aimed it all at the two droids nearest her. Unfortunately, it appeared to do little to hamper their aim... [Private to Eso Terra: missed it by 2, their reflexes are at 19 ]Luckily, the cover offered by the columns offered a fair reprieve, however slight, and a lot of deadly fire rained down on the group as both sets of droids advanced.

[Private to Chemosh: Mostly absorbed by your shield - 1 less use. 3 of 5 used]
[Private to Eso Terra: 8+9+13+19 = 49dam total ]
[Private to Tehrk Ridonal: 8+9+13+9 = 39dam total ]
[Private to Tervax: 13,5,23 = 41Dam total  -- I did not factor your DR yet though]

Next is Chemosh I believe, but I want to go over the damage again and how you plan to deal with it. [Private to Chemosh: Haven't forgotten about your hack, we're just not there yet.]

[Private to GM:OOC: Since I don't know the attack roll I don't know if the Intercept works or not.
Eso Terra rolled 18 using 1d20+14 with rolls of 4. UtF Reaction.
If it does I can reduce the damage by whichever roll it blocks and my armour DR will reduce the damage further by 6. Otherwise Armour DR reduces the damage by 8 bringing it down to 41.

[Private to GM: Actually I'll block whatever I have the best chance of blocking. Also, I noticed that I shouldn't have been hit on one of the attacks last round, If I'm reading your rolls correctly it was a 17 and my Ref is 18. I wouldn't pick at this normally, but in this case, that 7 points is very likely to be the difference between life and death. I guess I'll be using another DP to avoid the highest damage roll this round too.]

Tervax was alive.  This was a great fight.  Granted, he was also getting the crap beat out of him.  He ducked back behind the pillar and took a moment to center himself and call upon his ancestors to guide his aim before opening his eyes and starting to come around the edge of the pillar he was using for cover.

OOC:
-Move Action:
--Move back behind the pillar onto the steps.

Chemosh taps furiously away at the touch-pad on his WristCom device called MERLIN as plasma bolts ricochet around him, or are absorbed by his personal shield, the status lights quickly going from green to a crimson. Beads of sweat go down the otherwise calm and controlled exterior. Suddenly, the hailstorm stops and a door hisses open next to TC-11.

"Exceedingly sorry about the Force-use counter measures," the droid chimes, "Master Findos had a special protocol added when he started doing business with Master Skywalker. I would suggest that you leave while Master Findos is still in ahhhh... 'helpful state' because I won't be able to override any commands once he's returned to his old self."

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Chemosh rises from his cover, boldly dropping his energy shield and moving towards the door... swallowing the vindictive urges rushing through his mind to order his allies into taking advantage of the moment to destroy the droids and turrets alike. "Whatever. Tell Findos to keep his trap shut about having met us, as agreed." The Chiss raises his hood again, and re-activates his personal security measures as he crosses the rooms threshold. Once the blanketed static is in place, he resumes casually keying away at MERLIN as he walks towards the exit... expecting the others to fall into step or not as they wished.

[Private to GM:

Did that end of it's own accord, or did Chemosh manage to slice into the buildings systems? If he did... he's looking to erase any and all proof of any of them every having been there.

Static crackles around the tips of her fingers and glows within the palms of her guantlets. Her hands have begun to rise against the droids when the door hisses open. Her upper lip curls into a snarl as she closes her hands into fists crushing the electricity, she drops her hands to her sides and stalks out of the room without saying another word.

Tehrk was about to open fire before things seemed to calm down, though his position didn't get adjusted by even an inch until Chemosh had begun leaving. His own pace followed closely behind the talker of the group, though it was clear that Tehrk's fear of another attack prevented him from holstering his pistols until there was a certainty of safety from the region.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Time to close this thread. :)

As soon as the group gives them the chance to, the battle droids put themselves between you and Nute's dais, trailing the group with their automatic blaster riffles as you head for the door leading out of Findo's office. Their movement follows your every move until the group is out. The group follows a narrow corridor for a few minutes to another door which, once opened, sends in a beam of blinding sunlight as a ramp extends down to an open garage carved into the planet's rocky crust - a large landspeeder is waiting.

Taking the cue from the tell-tale sound of droids activating their blasters not far behind you, the team quickly loads into the speeder, and Chemosh takes the commands, speeding it out of the cave and into the dying sunlight, racing across the rocky flats back towards the settlement. In the distance, far behind you, a small figure runs out of the garage frantically waving his arms and shouting as several battle droids emerge after it, shooting wildly at the speeder.

The Chiss expertly zigzags across the sands and rocks, dodging several shots, and eventually steering the speeder out of range. His red eyes glowing like a demon, he speeds you down towards the settlement, glancing at the rear-view mirrors occasionally to see if the enemy is in pursuit. Moments later, the settlement is in sight, and Chemosh banks the speeder, bringing it to a full stop in some alley, not wanting to lead Findos and his army of droids directly on you. Suggesting caution, he leads you all back towards the Cantina. It was evident that the Chiss wanted to have a little (not so friendly) chat with a Gran named Ulu Teem.

Entering the cantina through the back door, the group heads directly for Ulu's private room, where the party enters to find one very dead Gran. It's Ulu, and his head has been severed from the rest of his shoulders... the wound clean - and completely cauterized.

Rushing out to ask the bartender who was in the room with Ulu... the barkeep stops for a moment and shakes his head in confusion, "You... know... I thought... I thought someone went in with him... but... I... I just can't seem to remember. Huh."

So ends the first chapter in the Search for Luke Skywalker. Our team finds itself with a scant bit of information - and a tenuous lead. Alone on an outer-rim world with an angry crime lord and an army of droids - will they be able to find a way offworld and to the myserious planet Yavin?

The search for Skywalker continues...
