Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

"Well... Looks like my most admirable associates wish to conclude business here. It's been great to meet you and I wish you the best in any endeavors you want to take on. Later."

With a smile, Tehrk spins around and follows Eso out, along with Chemosh and Tervax. With a quick advancement towards them, Tehrk waits until they're just out of earshot before addressing the group.

"So...

Long story short, I need to go visit Pugwis and get that crate of mine back. I've got a good feeling that'll be our ticket in."

Outside the bar, Chemosh turns to move back towards the spacedock.

"Interesting? What I find 'interesting' is the nagging feeling that we're being set up here. The sabbac cards are landing far too coincidentally as the phrase goes. We've got money, we've got motivation, we've seen the stims and could easily confiscate them... oh, and we've met the girls. The gran knows who we represent, and professes an interest in desiring to get back into the game.

"And yet...

"The Gran already HAS all of these things, but says meeting with the neomodian is impossible without them. Just doesn't sit right."

Chemosh doesn't break pace, but he does cast a look back at Eso that plainly indicates his opinion of her being a few marbles short of a full bag.

As the group continued talking, Tehrk would head out to the front and towards the ship, intending to recover his box and newly acquired cargo. With this, they'd be able to get into the estate easily enough, he hoped, and get that interview with the neomodian.

The group returns to the Black Comet where they find a team is already working on the freighter's hull. Pugwis, per his usual style, is busy glowering and cussing, however he is a bit more cheerful from when you last saw him. Noticing you arriving, he grins and walks over towards you. "Wasn't expecting to see you all that quickly... Did you get lost?"

"Me, get lost? Nah, I actually came back to claim something. There's a crate with a particular symbol on it, like a mask. It's electronically sealed and has some particular items in it I need to retrieve. Won't take too long if you wouldn't mind me grabbing it."

Waiting fora response, Tehrk stands there patiently with the hope that Pugwis won't cause too many issues on this matter.

Vertuba stopped and aproached Tehrk, "You... You can't..! That crate isn't yours... It's obviously meant for the hutts," he said standing in the man's way.

Pugwis arched an eyebrow, "What would you need it for anyway? We're as good as dead if you take it, and I'm supposed to meet the dealer in the next half hour. I still need those credits they offered Vertuba to finish the repairs."

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

"Well, the way I see it, you'll be holding personal property. As the head of the Ridonal Sect, I have stated that all containers are to be immediately destroyed on arrival and acquisition of shipments. That crate you have shouldn't be there.

Regrettably, your dealer decided to be stupid and didn't entertain the notion that the owner may have actually found that out. That logo is my personal seal and, while I'm not willing to start a fight over it, I certainly wouldn't be the type to tip a few people off."

It was clear he wasn't in a good mood over their reluctance. He looked at Vertuba and smiled somewhat crudely, however.

"Plus you, what was it... Vertuba? You're the one who nearly got us killed for it in the first place. I think you have little enough in this matter.

Pugwis, how much do you need to finish the repairs this little bastard nearly had you killed for? I'll give you as much as I can afford for you to kind of... Oh I don't know... Pretend you lost the cargo? You have a nice sized hole there, wouldn't be too tough to claim it happened. As far as anyone can be concerned, they can't prove it didn't happened since that hole is large enough that even Jabba could worm his way through it without hurting himself."

12:25, Today: Tehrk Ridonal rolled 27 using 1d20+9 with rolls of 18. Persuasion.

Reaching into his pocket, Tehrk was risking himself outright for just one crate he and the rest could grab when it was en route to the target. However, he wanted that crate and if it cost him what money he had left to get it, so be it. If he remembered, Vertuba was getting about four grand in credits... Tehrk had something close to that.

Pugwis raised his eyebrow at Tehrk starting to go all legalese on him, but the Duros wasn't really versed in any of it to defend himself. "I hear what you're saying, but that doesn't change that our lives are forfeit if that shipment doesn't get to the spice dealer. Jabba doesn't care about a hole in my ship and is likely to put a hole in me anyway. There must be another way... I don't know, can't you just lie? That crate is heavy and you can't just carry it off anyway."

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

"How about this, I give you two and a half grand here to let me INTO the crate. I won't take it away and I'll leave enough of whatever is in there so that the shipment seems like it was screwed before it was sent. You can't say you were involved in stealing, you couldn't get in even if you tried. It's my crate, I know a bypass routine to get into it whether someone encrypts it or not.

How's that sound? You get money, I get a bit of whatever is in there and no one implicates you. At the very least, you can keep the crate and as long as some of the shipment gets there, they can search your entire ship without finding anything, making it so you don't get targeted."

Taking his wallet out and now brandishing the credits, Tehrk started thinking of the situation on the level Pugwis refused to move from. In all instances, just getting two or three bags of the glitterstim was enough.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

(I stated 2,500 credits, not 2,000. Taking the hit but not going to snake out of my own words)

Tehrk said nothing more once the credits were passed. Pugwis was given a rather appreciative nod as Tehrk slipped onto the ship and towards the cargo hold. Looking for his crate, he went about opening it quietly and, once inside, he would look to see how many bags of the glitterstim spice there were. Once he'd made an accurate count, he would remove one quarter of the supply, provided it wasn't too much (I'm looking for about three bags here). Stuffing them into his jacket and closing the crate lid again, he would certainly make sure that Ulu Teem paid for his idiocy in a most unexpected way, later on that is. Slugs like him weren't worth the air they breathed.

Heading out, Tehrk looked no bigger than earlier, though he was a bit less troubled now.

"Thanks. See you around.

And Vertuba... Good and all that you're thinking about getting money and all that, though you may want to think ahead next time. Money isn't worth losing your life over.

Half thought Pugwis was going to beat you, grind your bones to dust, mix it with the remaining paste that we would have called your body and call it some kind of sandwich spread. I know people who would have just shot you on sight."

With that, Tehrk heads back to the group with little more than a hop and a skip, unoccupied and seemingly unaffected by anything. He didn't let on about having anything or doing anything more than talking to Pugwis about something and then going onto the ship. Once they were far enough out, however, he would talk.

Chemosh lounges, impatiently leaning against the wall, awaiting Tehrk's return. When at last the human does return, the Chiss is quick to recognize the proud smirk on his face. "I trust you've retrieved your property then? Sufficient quantity to secure our interview, but not so much as to place attention upon those who so discreetly brought us here?"

"Just enough that we'll get in, but in all honesty, I'd like to shoot taht Vertuba here and now since I don't trust him. I don't think I have that luxury though, so for now it'll have to do to just get into the mansion.

Am I right in assuming you'll do the talking? I'm good, but I'd rather not end up costing us anything important."

Chemosh runs a tongue along the inside of his top lip thoughtfully. "I can, unless the... not-Jedi would prefer to hold sway?" The Chiss tactfully offers to Eso, despite his oppinion of being far more qualified for the negotiations at hand.

"By all means, be my guest. I'd hate to have the loss of our only lead on finding Master Skywalker on my head if I screwed up these negotiations. Besides, I think we're entering the domain of finance and back room deals which isn't really my strong suit.

As for the not-jedi thing. Would it really be wise to advertise a Jedi presence in this area? Hmm?"
She asks with a raised eyebrow.

"Speaking of which, if I'm gonna be passing off as a hired good, I should probably pick up side-arm of some sort."

"I think you under-estimate the value of Fear and Intimidation that your kind engender in the common populace." Chemosh chides, a status that has remained constant since even before the Clone Wars. "Warranted and Desired or not, most people fear that which they do not and cannot understand. Your Hookey religion ranks pretty high on that list. Even outside of Republic space." Despite his commentary, Chemosh doesn't break stride and maintains a fore-position as he leads them through the settlement towards the estate of neomodian.

Occasionnaly glancing at his wrist computer, Chemosh avoids the nastier parts of the settlement and eventually leads you on its western-most limits where the road splits north and a smaller, less travelled dirt road, drifts off to the northwest. Hesitating a fraction, he turns and leads the group down the northwest road, and out of the settlement.

The group eventually crests a hillock, and a squat-looking compound comes into view. Nute Findos' estate, it ends up, was on the outskirts of the settlement, roughly 30 minutes out by foot. Its main entrance, a set of double-blast doors, appeared to be the only entrance accessible by foot, however, it was evident by the Trade Federation vintage shuttle squatting on the roof that a second entrance might be found there.

"Try not to break it, she's a bit zealous."

Pulling out a small vibrodagger, Tehrk offers it up willingly, though he also seems to have a few other tricks up his sleeve as he shows Eso a small handful of concealable items; amongst the items, a small lightsaber.

"Pays to be prepared, even if I'm useless at using it. Helps at cracking walls. I'm good to go anytime though, got the goods on me and just need to signal to hand them off."

Following along, Tehrk made sure to act as inconspicuously as he could to avoid drawing attention, strutting around normally with the group.

With a glance, Chemosh verifies that his anti-surveillance jammers are up and running... then leads the way towards the front door. Assuming a buzzer of sorts is in place, he activates said mechanism. With cameras seeing naught but static, odds are favorable that a living being (or at the worst, a droid) would be with them momentarily.

"Where in the blue blazes did you get a lightsaber?" She very nearly sputters. She manages to contain anything further at this time but the point is most likely to come up again.
"I'll keep the small items in mind. In a pinch situation if you hear your name, you'll know what I need." She shakes her head, though in frustration or admiration is hard to tell.
