Pugwis walks past the lot of you, grumbling about having to bribe the krifing dockmaster, but given he has no one else in tow, it looks like he might have succeeded in getting their attention away from his ship.

What is everyone doing?

"Alright.  I'm due for a break, I suppose.  Let me comm someone to see to your friend and I'll show you around.  Not much to the place, really, but there are some places you definitely want to avoid."  She paused as the Captain walked by and smirked.  "Looks like he had to part with some credits.  Better for you guys, though.  Don't want those goons nosing through everything.  They are bound to find something illegal, which means more credits paid to shut them up and keep them from taking what they want."

She slung her kit over her shoulder and picked up her case in the other hand. "If you want to go on ahead, hang a right when you get out of the docking ring and you'll hit the blue district.  Not much trouble you can get into there.  Mostly food and drink vendors."

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

<Retro>  Mi had taken the next shift in the remaining V-wing avoiding the whole argument and near fight in the ship over the container. He had little to nothing to add to what was already being said by others and so remained silent through it. Coming into the port he set down on the landing pad just next to the comet shutting the ship down totally after it was clear they wouldn't be needing to make a hasty exit. <Retro>

Mi slipped out of the cockpit coming over toward the comet heading up the ramp as it seemed most everyone was still on the ship.  He followed the voices to the infirmary just behind the captain, but walked in instead of past.  Taking note of the new person there he raised an eyebrow at her, or rather where one should have been, before looking to Kal and Mirax, "How is she?"

Kal sighed, "It seems like she'll survive, but likely not without some time in a bacta tank. Our new friend..." Kal gestured toward Zala, "...has agreed to show us some of the local sights after we get Nashtah to the medical facility." Kal turned back to Zala with a smile, "I'm sorry, I don't know if I caught your name. I'm Kal Wennyn." Kal offered her his hand and a smile.

"Mirax Bey," she said, once Kal introduced himself.  Zala seemed nice enough, although Mirax was hesitant to trust her just because she was doing her job.  She mentally cursed their need for subterfuge - she couldn't actively use the Force to determine whether it was a good idea to trust Zala.  Doing so might tip off their target if he was near. "A tour sounds like fun, don't you think?" she said, looking to Mi.  Mirax mentally made a note, then, to record each location Zala recommended they avoid.  These would be the best places to search for leads for their target - and for their contact.

"Seris Narill," she lied. Wary of giving anyone her real name, she had been using the alias since arriving. She didn't mind shaking Kal's hand, though the contact was brief. She nodded to the other two. "Good to meet you.  So, do you want to come along while I escort your friend to the facility, or should I catch up with you in the food sector?"

"Alright, give it a moment for the transport to show up.  I'll be outside waiting." A barcode printed out of a device at her hip and she slapped it on to the bottom of the patient's foot.  She scanned it and then tucked her scanner into her bag, leaving the trio alone with Claire.

Outside of the ship, she called for transport.  It didn't take them long.  Two orderlies arrived with a hoverbed.  Taking a moment, she filled them in on the situation.

Kal waited by Claire while the medic went outside. He quickly gathered his belongings and waited for the transportation to the medical center. He also went to Vertuba and asked about the item he had agreed to transport, "Where is the drop supposed to happen, Vertuba?"

Vertuba looks dejected, "I was supposed to meet him at the Legitimate Business Man's Cantina. It'll be in the food sector..."

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

The two medics boarded the ship and moved Claire to the hoverbed, pushing it out carefully and down the ramp to the docking ring.  With a glance to make sure the others were following, Zala walked briskly after them.  The walk wasn't far.   Once out of the docking port, they entered a settlement that looked like a dozen others on any number of backwater worlds.  Turning in the opposite direction of where she'd told them to go, they arrived at the medical facility in only a few moments.  The medics took their patient inside and disappeared through a set of automatic doors.  Zala stopped in the small lobby to check in with the clerk and upload the patient information she'd taken.  Leaving the small group for a moment, she entered a small storage area behind the clerk's desk and inserted a small fob into her locker.  She stored her medical equipment there and took out her holster, strapping her blaster pistol to her hip.  Removing the fob, she made sure the locker was securely shut and then rejoined the group.

"So, I assume you're here to meet someone to conduct your business?  Probably not a restaurant, then.  There's only one cantina in the food district that caters to the public and caters to all sorts of clientele.  I would wager that if your contact isn't there, someone would know where he or she might be.  There's always someone that knows everybody's business."

Kal followed along behind the medics, making polite conversation with Mirax as they did, presuming the medics were too busy to speak with the offworlders. When Zala finished up and spoke to them, Kal nodded, "Yeah, we're here to meet someone, but I'd like to buy you and Mirax a drink first. To thank you for your help with our injured friend and the tour, and her for, uh...other things. Once we've met our guy, would you be willing to answer some questions we might have about Koshibal?"

She shrugged in noncommittal fashion.  "Sure, whatever.  I'm not a wealthy repository of infinite knowledge, but I know a little 'bout this place.  Been stuck here a while.  Anyway, we're headed back to the food district.  The Legitimate Business Man's Cantina is far from legitimate, but it's the only one open to the public.  The rest are members-only.  You can get a decent drink there, just watch out for trouble.  There's a lot to be had."

She gestured for them to follow and led the way, backtracking for a few blocks until turning onto a new avenue.

[Private to Power of the Darkside: Can you give us a general idea of the setting?  Is it a small settlement?  Daytime?  Nighttime?  Built up with lots of shops or plain buildings?  Are we outside or in an indoor city of sorts?  Crowded?  Sparse?  That sort of thing?  Thanks.]

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

As a former mining colony of little importance, Koshibal now has only one active settlement. The rest having long been dismantled or have been left to decay. Signs of the rot are apparent even in the current settlement, but Zala adroitly circumnavigates the worst areas and leads you to the "Legitimate" Businessman’s Cantina. Judging by its looks, the legit side of the place is probably as crooked as the Cantina's door sign, which is quickly confirmed as soon as you pass through the front doors.

Leaving the bright and warm sun's comfort behind, you quickly enter the Cantina's smoky and music-filled atmosphere. It takes a few minutes for your eyes to readjust to the Cantina's dim lighting, but at a first glance you notice that the cantina is populated by scoundrels and smugglers of all types and is rather busy considering the time of the day. A band plays in one of the corners, and the large bar is manned by a large looking human with tussled red hair.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Mirax was largely silent as they walked, noting their surroundings and generally playing the suspicious one - and rightly so given the reputation this place had, thanks in part to Zala.  She kept the Legitimate Businessman in mind, as well as the name of their person to meet as well.  She wasn't really surprised when Kal suggested they get drinks - and given the trip in, she agreed with the idea.

"You're dead set on getting me drunk, aren't you Kal?"
she mused, as the Businessman came into view.  The patrons of the Businessman were about what she had been expecting.  It was pretty much like every cantina on Tatooine - Mos Eisley specifically.  "So, where should we sit?" she said, looking around to see if there were any Gand in attendance.

Kal nodded, "That looks like an ideal spot. Why don't you and our new friend have a seat, and I'll take my shadow to the bar." Kal tossed a thumb casually over his shoulder toward Mi as he said the last. "What sort of refreshment would you ladies prefer?" Kal asked casually.

"Johrian whiskey," she answered Kal.  "We'll go save the table."  With a glance to Mirax, she flicked her chin at the table and headed in that direction.  As she walked through the crowded cantina, her gaze shifted over those gathered, taking special note of those that were trying too hard not to be noticed.  One hand rested on her blaster as she walked.

[Private to Zala Quel'falri: Taking special note of people is a perception roll.. you can take 10 or 20. Taking 20 means spending 2 full minutes in the attempt at noticing someone's being evasive. Seeing as you're in a bar, not being rushed, I'll assume you're taking your time and taking 20, giving you a total perception check of 31.

No one's acting stranger than usual that you notice.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

"I'll have a Talmog myself," Mirax replied.  She had tried the drink once on a planet she had forgotten the name of.  It had a fiery kick to it, and a strange aftertaste, but she liked it nonetheless.  The main reason she liked it: it was hard to drink, and forced her to watch her drinking - perfect for situations when she didn't want to get drunk.

Unlike Zala, she did not walk in any kind of an aggressive manner.  She did not seem to scan the room much beyond her initial glance around - but that was for another reason.  While they walked, she passively scanned the room with the Force, searching for any form of imminent aggression.  It was not a strong use of the Force, thus would not make her stand out to even a Master searching for her.  When they reached the table, she took a seat with her back to the wall.

04:14, Today: Mirax Bey rolled 17 using 1d20+15 with rolls of 2. UTF: Search Feelings - basically looking to see if just attending the bar will result in getting attacked in the near future.

[Private to Mirax Bey: You get the feeling that the shit will hit the fan, but it seems to be later... all you know is that you'll be forced into a confrontation (a big one) sometime in the future, but not necessarily here or now, though this bar is the nexus point of it all. If you walked away now and gave up on Skywalker, then the danger lifts.]

Kal smiled at the response from the women, and after they turned to leave did his own scan of the patrons, looking for anyone that might meet the description of their contact.

07:34, Today: Kal Wennyn rolled 20 using 1d20+8 with rolls of 12. Perception.

Once he made his way to the bar, Kal attempted to get the attention of the barman to order drinks for the womenfolk.

Kal leaned closer and asked quietly, "Also, do you know an Ulu Teem?"
