Zala blinked and stared at their new twi'lek companion.  Baffled at the chance, she closed her mouth when she realized she was gaping.  "Hologram?"  Are you some sort of 'shifter?"

Mirax blinked.  "Um... right..."  She was clearly confused, but Zala's question had reminded her of something.  Wasn't there a species or something that could shift forms?  That, or perhaps it was some new disguise technology RMI had been working on...  Either way, her memory would serve her right.

00:34, Today: Mirax Bey rolled 15 using 1d20 with rolls of 15. Knowledge Species.

OOC: Clawdite is what you're looking for.

Kal tucked her long legs underneath her as she shifted a bit on the sofa to better view the other two women. "Holograms are rather easy to defeat. Not that changing shape is perfect, but its better. Yes, I can shift forms fairly easily. It comes in handy in my line of work."

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

OOC: Right, that's the one.  I figured I could let the GM do the work for me, heh.  Anyway, that solves that - since its a species, and not knowledge OF the species, it wouldn't require a huge roll to remember anyway.

"I'll bet..."
Mirax replied, still very clearly shocked.  She hadn't considered that Kal had been hiding such a secret, and thus hadn't bothered 'checking' with the Force earlier. "That... will certainly come in handy later.  Although now I'm not sure whether to refer to you as 'he' or 'she'," she noted, leaving out the obvious implications of that choice.

"Uh, nice head-tails," she said to Kal.  She hadn't know him nearly as long as Mirax, but was still quite surprised.  She quickly got over it, however, and managed not to stare.  "So, uh, you're going to be the offered twi'lek dancer yourself and, uh, Mirax is going to be pushing spice?  I think you should plan this out before you go marching over there and just knock on his door, or, um, droid."

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Kal curled her bright red lips into a smile, “I would say that for everyone’s safety, you should refer to me as ‘she’ while I’m in a feminine form and ‘he’ when I am in a masculine one. You never know who might be listening.” Her voice sounded uncannily similar to that of a twi’lek woman.

Kal looked at Zala when she brought up planning their next move. "I don't know that we need to march over there at all. Presumably there isn't a line of people that speak with the droid, but rather they do it by contacting the gatekeeper remotely. I'll also need proper attire if they go for the meeting with the twi'lek, as I can only make it look as if there were clothing on me. However, it's merely a texturing of my skin, so if one of you two have something appropriate, I may borrow from your wardrobe. Otherwise a brief shopping trip may be in order."

PM:
[Private to GM:
I made the roll, but even at its minimum (which I managed) with the Impersonate feat it seems likely to be impenetrable. Actually, can't I just regularly take a 10 on this stuff and get to 37? That would seem to be impossible to notice given the difficulty scale.

10:41, Today: Kal Wennyn rolled 28 using 1d20+27 with rolls of 1. Deception.

[Private to Kal Wennyn: I'd have to check the books, but I mainly wanted to see how good a disguise you'd pull, and just how well the transformation was done to base it on perception checks, which they get automatically given the deception.  I'll check up on it tonight.]

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Mirax looked over Kal's new body for a moment, before considering an answer.  "Mmm... I have one or two that might fit.  Unfortunately though, none of it is all that fitting for an exotic dancer.  We're going to have to do some shopping for that," she said.  Considering exotic dancers were limited to what amounted to gilded lingerie, it was no surprise her and Zala didn't have anything of the sort.  The closest Mirax had were a few outfits suited for nightclubs, but she had only brought one with her, just in case she needed to fit in in that situation.

"Although, we're going to have to think about this.  I doubt it would work if the twi'lek herself walked in there searching for information.  If we're going to do this, we'll need a plan.  My thought is that the spice will get us an audience, and if we need further persuasion beyond what I can offer, then we can put you on the table, Kal, so to speak."

[Private to GM: I would say there's never any need for me to roll this particular check and presume it's always a 37, or 42 if it's something easy. Even specific people can be impersonated (due to the feat) with no negative modifier, which includes their voice. In this case, since I'm not impersonating someone that the people I'll meet with know, I would guess it would be of the 'easier' variety]

Kal shrugged her shoulders at Mirax's idea, "Spice may, but it would be counting on Ulu, which I want to avoid as much as possible. It also means waiting until the end of the day. What if Seris had some information worth providing to them? Surely someone like her has been noticed by nearly everyone in the colony. The familiarity might lend some credibility."

"I generally try not to get noticed, but you are correct in that some people know me here.  I've been here... too long.  I have responded to a few calls at Findos' estate, but have never been inside the main compound.  If they have a guest that needs medical attention, they usually just dump them outside.  If we don't wait for the spice, what do you think we should do?  What sort of information could I possibly give him that he'd want?"

"I wouldn't worry too much about Ulu.  The Jedi mind trick is quite subtle - he won't figure out that what he's doing goes against any of his rules.  He'll just think its an agreeable business deal, so to speak," Mirax replied.  "But anyway... information... I'm not sure, to be honest.  Really, we only need to get into the room with him.  Once we're in there, he's at our mercy.  So, whether we use the Spice, or Kal, it doesn't matter to me."

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

After discussing several options as they go through various dresses for Kal's Twi'lek disguise, Mirax returns to the Cantina to grab Mi and rendez-vous with the others. There was no sense in bringing Kal in front of Ulu Teem in his new dress since he might blow their cover, so Mirax left the Gran with his Twi'lek girls to 'forget' his worries, and conveniently, that they'd been by at the same time.

Selis, not being someone who'd normally know how to contact Findos' protocol droid, left the group with only one option -- to go for a visit without an appointment. At worse, they'd be turned back, at best... well... they'd find out quickly enough if Kal was the type of thing that would go at the head of the line in Nute's case.

Taking the northwest dirt road out of the settlement, the group eventually crested a hillock, and a squat-looking compound came into view. Nute Findos' estate, it ended up, was on the outskirts of the settlement, roughly 30 minutes out by foot. Its main entrance, a set of double-blast doors, appeared to be the only entrance accessible by foot, however, it was evident by the Trade Federation-like shuttle that was squatting on the roof, that a second entrance might be found there.

Let me know if you didn't want to be moved along, but figured I'd get you all where you needed to be. Also tell me if you need extra prep stuff...

OOC: Jumping ahead is fine. I presume both the other women have changed their attire to properly be my back-up dancers.

Kal, obviously happy that she was now dressed appropriately, gestured toward the front door. "Let's see who might be home, shall we?" She began to sashay toward the door, but looked to the others in case they had any other thoughts or misgivings.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Mirax, on the other hand, let out a hefty sigh.  While she did like showing off on occasion, she wasn't too much of a fan doing it in front of a sleaze like this Findos probably was.  It was all the wrong crowd.  Even so, she carried herself well, despite her displeasure.

To play her part as a dancer girl alongside Kal, Mirax had worn the outfit mentioned earlier.  She wore what amounted to a tube top, with a leather jacket worn over it and left undone.  A bare midriff with a loose skirt hanging low on her waist that ended halfway down her thighs, and a pair of knee-high leather boots completed the outfit.  She also wore her utility belt and, hidden beneath the loose skirt, her pair of lightsabers, one strapped to each thigh.  All in all, it was a good look - a combination of appeal and utility, reasonable enough for her part.

"Lets get this over with,"
she said, before glancing to Selis and Mi.  They would be playing the part of their Agent and Muscle, respectively.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Seris was wearing something respectable, but not anything that would allow anyone to assume that she was the entertainment.  Wearing something nicer than her usual coverall, she'd chosen clothing that looked expensive without really being expensive. She walked with the others to the home of Findos, looking for the protocol droid that took his appointments.

OOC - Posting for Mi

A strange sight accompanied the group, or rather, one that usually wasn't seen had been forced into the open. The blood carver who usually kept to the shadows was following the group in the wide open spaces, ever watchful and silent as usual. With a nod to Mirax, he follows the others up the path to Findos' main entrance.

Leading the group down the path with Mi at the rear, and presumably two exotic looking dancers in tow, Seris eventually made her way up to the massive blaster doors to the left of which was a comm panel. Pressing the call button, she turns to the group, hoping that everyone is ready and waits for an answer.

"Good evening," says a female voice, "what brings you to Master Findos' residence at this time? Ahhh... We don't have anyone hurt this time?" the voice added as a security camera encompassed the group in its lense and obviously recognized the Medic.

Seris looked at the others briefly as she answered. "Greetings TC-11.  I am not here on medical business.  I am here to discuss other interests with Master Findos."  She waved a hand at the dancers, gesturing to emphasize their presence to the camera.  "I understand he is always seeking new entertainment and I would like to offer access to these two lovelies if he is interested.  They will soon be the most sought after pair in this quadrant."

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

"We didn't know that you were into 'entertainment' Mistress Seris," the droid's female voice said over the comm. The lense swiveled and one can assume had made a zoom on the dancers in question. "Master Findos is curious, however. Very well, we will accommodate a final audience. If you will wait a moment, I will be over to escort you."

The group is left to wait, however the lense stays directed towards the group, obviously taking everything and everyone into account. Moments later, the blast doors hiss open and you are greeted by a very clean and polished silver TC model protocol droid. "Mistress Seris, please have your friends come this way, if you please," it asks with a small inclination of its upper body, gesturing with both hands for the group to enter. Beyond the droid is a beautiful marble foyer from which are corridors that come from every direction; all of which lead deeper into the compound. The foyer is richly adorned with art and plant-life, and it is clear that security was a priority when the facility was built.
