I'm sorry to hear that, Galen. Have as good a day as you can.

My apologies to all for my extended lack of posting. Holidays just keep me away from my computer a lot.

We all know how the holidays are. I myself am just getting over a double dose of food poisoning :-P.......I had nothing to eat for 2 days except 1 piece of bread and Pedia-light.

Ironic, that it seems to stall again right after you post that. :p

Who is Sevastian? O.o

He doesn't seem new, since he has about 200 posts, but I don't think I've seen him before?

He's a former PC who is now an NPC. He's been serving as a butler to Beatrix since the player of the character he used to serve also disappeared. I just was trying to spur things a little with a post. ^^;

Don't look at me! I am just waiting for others.

Also, you dropped this. *gives pin back*

I'm waiting for some suggestions on how to word an oath to bind the Guild agent.

I know! You could wake her up and ask her advice! She probably has high Bureaucracy!

Just include the clause:

"If you do anything which breaks the spirit of our agreement, which would include anything I do not like, assassins will plague your every sleeping moment."

In reply to Merlin (msg # 291):

All that would do is allow her to make sure she hired assassins to plague her every waking moment if she violated the spirit of the agreement...without breaking the Oath. ;)

Oh! Good one. Could you say that one in character?

That's the stuff I need. The Oaths are tricky.

I'll just replace the word "assassins" with the "wrath of Heaven," which is what the botches are. :p

Eclipse Oaths are tricky, but it's fun to play like a devil. :)

Ooh, a paradox! Now, if she breaks the Oath but suffers the wrath of heaven, she isn't breaking the oath and so won't suffer the wrath of heaven!

Hey, Seg. Mind if I roll Bureaucracy to get some guidelines on a good binding oath? ;)

...also, holy wow, Azalea's only got one die on Per+Awareness? Poor girl. :(

In reply to Beatrix LeSchaye (msg # 295):

I leave the wording of the Oath to you as part of a stunt for such a roll, but you can certainly roll Bureaucracy to establish how well your wording (whatever it "really" is) covers contingencies later on.

What is the goal you're trying to achieve with it? What, ignoring legalisms and loopholes, do you want the Oath to accomplish?

To get Matield out of our hair, more or less permanently, so that she is no longer promoting the slave trade, nor agitating the Beastmen with her offers, within, say, a month's ride of Trademeet's borders.

Are you just interested in physically banishing her, preventing her from doing business in the area, or just preventing specific kinds of activities (which include but are not limited to some kinds of business)?

How severely restricted do you want her to be, and how "easy" to break it involuntarily (say, but getting lost and wandering into the area, or being kidnapped and dragged into it) to be? What about work-by-proxy?

Looking at the dice roller log, you rolled right. It just looks like you reported it wrong in the game thread.

No, I rerolled just now. The previous one I had rolled one. I edited my post for the new roll (keeping the old there for reference).

Since we're on this topic, I'm sure the DR can be defaulted to the Exalted system, I've seen it elsewhere in RPOL. Any idea how? I presume it's a GM settings thing.

I would like to keep her from being knowingly involved in business in the area. Geddout, punk. >:(

Huh. There's a "configure the roller" option that's available to me. I never would have noticed it if you hadn't mentioend it. It should default to Exalted-style, now. Thanks!

Probably the same, just to be on the safe side. If he wants to offer protests that he's just a mercenary, has family in the area, whatev, Bea will listen. But, not knowing what he's capable of, she would prefer to err on the side of caution here.
