Ajax forced himself not to move much or cough.

"Thish Mr Carlson ...really did ...a good job with... your face Sam... That is... your smile!"  Ajax was all smiles himself.

"Well... you will h-have a... lot of fans now? ... H-how should we handle that?. ..He looked to the ladies of SEC.



Lyri peeks out the window, and turns back, Lord Adem, of the verians?....seemed to take Issue of Shadow and Lady and decided the party was a good place to...'teach him a lesson..."..in the end?  he had to back down.. but..one big reason? is all the Hermes Folk that stepped up... Kenny and Sam were 2 of them...

Beth Nodded with a giggle, Kenny was holding a plastic knife....

Ajax grimaced comically, struggling with his urge to chuckle.
"Well... then Kenny hash nerve... I gotta... give him that".

Sam made a funny face of encouragement at the grudging praise for Kenny from Daddy.

LYri smiled at Sam. ..I think that's what Made Mr Carlson make the  figures..he needed another set....he added Melia's Little Girl, and Shade.... they were delivered to Shadow's Condo the first thing in the morning...they got the first two off the presses..AND...the  whole collection of CAptain  Lighting Vids....including the one that won't be shown until....what thursday?...we all watched it together, the whole bunch..

Ajax smiled wistfully "That shounds like fun... The Vid party I mean? ... Shorry I mished it.

Meliash little girl? ...That'sh news to me. ...shounds like I ...missed shomething else?.." . His eyebrows raised curiously...

  beth and  Lyri looked at each other. Lyri  finally spoke up as thought over what to say.

  It appears there was  some..disturbances...down in the grotto? and some  women and children who were going to be  slaves, we saved?

 ..Seems    Dr Christie was helpign with   some of them, and ....one little girl  had no where oto  go./..and she sorta Bounded with hen.. Melia  and Hunter decided to team up and  take care of her.... Her Name is Orria.

 beth cleared her  throat,Seems  after  checking the files? Orria  is Melai's  daughter...

 Lyri nodded,..yes...yes  she is....

Hawkeye smiles taking it all in, glad Ajax is making progress but worrying like a mother hen at the same time. She checks her watch, noting the time deciding if she just wants to wait until dinner to eat and have a big meal.

Sam made a bit of a curious face as daddy was talking a little funny...

Ajax grinned and grimaced a bit, stifling another painful chuckle. ..having a kid with a sense of humor was a liability at the moment!

"Baby watching h-huh? ..Shoundsh like a ...good thhing. ..I know you ...know h-how... You could make ah... few creds and hhelp... Melia out.  ..Shoundsh good..."

Sam grinned. She put the action figures down and took daddys hand again.
"When can you come home?"

  Beth gets  Ajax's  COM  and uploads the  vids and pics of the beach and the party..looks...we have to go? And Stefi said  we shouldn't stay long?

 her  Voice lowered,..we  need to know what you want to do with Sam?... She can Stay with Lyri for a Bit, Spencer and her are the Only NCOs  to have thier own  place, because  they are at the top of the  NCO food chain..and ..well SEC...

 She can stay with me,  I'm on the  officer's dec, Shadow's place   is a bit down from the hall?

 ...or?  if you have someone  you trust  down in the Civie section? she could stay by herself and be 'looked in ' on... we could  even send  an SEC trooper  down , every so often....But....


 Lyri peeks out the doors,..but ...we can't let the Orphan Clerk know she's  by herself, too long, or too often...

  Beth Nods    and Bites her lip as she  Things, Lyri  and her Nod  each other...Right Now?...she can stay with one of Us.... I think I'll go down to  the Civie  section with her, so she  can relax  at home and  play with her stuff in her own home?.. tonight  she can stay with Beth up in the offcier's  quarters...

 Beth waggles a finger at Ajax,.. If  Miss  Burghide stops  by....and she  asks questions?..You just say..her  'aunts   ' or something..are watching her.. Drop the LCs name  a couple time if she  keeps askign questions...its the best we  can  do, to  bide   time until you'er out.

As conversation starts to wind down Hawkeye moves back over to Ajax, and the others. She addresses Sam with a gentle, but serious manner not talking down to the girl at all. "Your Dad will be okay, we're giving him the best we have. Maybe we let him rest a bit, and I'll see about making sure you get him back as soon as possible. Right now he has a lot of injuries, and is sick with Pneumonia. I think in a few days if there aren't any other complications I'll be able to turn him over to your care." She gently places a hand on Sam's shoulder with a warm smile, "Do you think you can keep him out of trouble long enough for him to get better?" she asks. Her bedside manner warm, approachable, sympathetic, and caring, yet professional and informative. She looks at Beth and Lyri, "If she wants she can crash here, I can get a cot set up out of the way. I don't think Stefi would begrudge him his own personal nurse." She looks at Ajax and Sam as well listening for their input, in addition to that offered by Beth and Lyri.

  Beth  shrugs..Its Up to them...as long  as Burghide, doesn'tstart fishing  for information...

Hawkeye smirks, "well as far as I'm concerned and my authority goes there aren't any orphan's in here so the Orphan Clerk has no business being in here. Let's just hope they keep their nose to themselves." She says.

Ajax smiled, then looked to the SEC ladies questioningly.

Sam grinned while looking up at Hawkeye, and then gave a warm and grateful smile to the ladies,
"Ummm... I would like to stay if that's okay?

But when do I need to go... somewhere else?" She got out her handheld to make a note or set an alarm.

   Beth  just gives her  head a shake,..You don't  HAVE to go anywhere?..Well..Unless Burghide want's to make a name for herself?....

 There is a grim look on lYri's   face , he   Ponytail bobs  as she  says,...Look?..the three of you?..... she points at  Cat, Ajax  and lastly Sam,..if somehting  goes wrong, that  Dr Price  or Stefi , or one of the  MedTechs  can't handle, You  COM , Me or Beth... we';; go now... we have to get up on the rec Dec  quick.....  Some time after the  girls left, there was   Fuss out in the MedTEch Lab.

  the  Crewmen from the Wren  came in Stefi  pointing to the far end of the  lab. It took close  to 20 minutes to get Billy  in the    Container and  set up.

  The Lead Med Tech  approached   Stefi with a Disc ,she took it to  upload  all Billy's info.

 As he  waited, he said,Ma'am..please to convey my compliments  to the Med techs who took care of his wounds. He would be free floating now, had it not been for that care.


 Stefi Nodded as she took out the disc  and  handed it to  the manWhat are his chances?


 Not  good, Ma'am....... I heard it was on PG? were they testing a new Naplam ??

 Of  course Ma'am...sorry Ma'am...

   Billy is taken out  and rushed  down the    Hanger Dec. The PO  salutes    Stefi and  runs  after them,  shouting for the Pilot to fire up the shuttle.

After getting Sam at up with a cot, Hawkeye instructs the med techs that any visitors for Ajax need approval from him unless they were directly in his chain of command, security, and that Sam was to have access at all times.  Anyone trying to get/demanding access without approval or being on the list would, need her personal approval and written approval from Ajax's supervisor prior to being admitted. Anyone trying to force their way in was to be immediately reported to security, specifically Beth and Lyri, and she was to be paged over the com. She parts from the group deciding to go work off the rich foods from shore leave,  and the stress of her job and get some sparring in at the chapel.

Sam hugged right back, a little regretful to be parting from her new Adult friends,
but she had a lot of daddy time to catch up on.

Sam blushed and blinked. She thought about how to start...

  After an Hour or so,  Stefi come in with some Med techs, they move things about so they can move Ajax's Bed.

 we are moving you to the BAck and down the HAll...its a bit quieter, and the room will have   some space for rehab when the time comes...

    taking  Sam's hand   they wait as the Techs Move the bed   to the  new  room. Sam can see the MedTech Lab is a bit quiet now, but there seems to be a couple more Guardians  standing about.

 about  15 Minutes they are in a 'cozier' room. though it lacks  Windows. it has a Vid screen and a small fridge with some snacks and drinks... dressers  have   been  pushed to the side to make  room for the cot.

Sam looked at the snacks. "Daddy can you eat regular food if i feed you?" Sam asked with a mischevious smile.

I'm guesshsing shhe doesh not make... a lot off credsh?"

Sam smiled back at daddy: "Okay, How about pudding? ..is it like ice cream? ..it says.. Vanilla flavor?"


Sam looked a little regretful. "Yeah... I think they don't have a lot of creds?
Kenny got kind of mad or... embarrassed? When I wanted to pay for him to get.. something that would help?

But he let Sgt Hunter buy him something more costly I think?

Ms Lyri said.. some guys want to buy everything for a... girl?
...and some don't?"  Sam looked a bit disappointed.

Ajax smiled. "Yes... phuddin will whork hhoney... Itsh ah little... like icesh cream, ..buth it doesn't ..ushually... get sherved frozen.
...we should make shome shometime!"

Ajax tried not to grimace, but he was not accustomed to being spoon fed.
"Okay youch goht ..that lid off, good... donth shove it ...into me noseth..."
