   ..You bet...  you can get Mixed..or...brocculi ..or   the Burian 'spears' they are like a cross between celery  and greenbeans

   Missy sips her drink "The core has invested in a support craft that's coming your way.  I'm on board.  We will be helping you keep your decks clear of non flying birds so the Hermes and the other ships in the fleet can have as large an active complement as possible.  Let's hope it works."

  Dana  arrived  with the eats... another Girl  places  their  drinks on the table...Give one of us a holler if you need anything else...

 Vids were showing different things around the ship.


 some  screens showed the news ( including the loop of  Bluggard)..there were clips of   nivarian battles  with a crawl going across, speaking of  the   two days of signing...

  Others  showed slips or Roussians  with  studio folks asking  what this  race wants from the delta  Fleet.

  Rivets   took a forkful of   beef  noodles  and shrugged,...folks  are tryin' all kinds of things..it will be suppin' ta see when we have the next fleet engagement...

   "If we don't keep trying, we won't find out what works.  Besides, this way I can keep an eye on you."  She spears a beef tip and a noodle and points them at Rivets, "To the way of the wheel you are even more of a hero than Kray will ever be.  Without you he wouldn't even have a Dart to fly.  That and you maintained Lady who is as much a Messiah to them as anything that they've ever had."  She pops the food in her mouth, "So take care of yourself ya big galoot.  A lot of people love you."

  Rivets   fair  ( if not rough) skin..  turned a darker  pink...yeah?  well, i don't know  nothin' about the Wheel.... on Mars, i took care of Mechs and  Armor, until the mechs lost favor  ta tanks.....  The Admiral...LT back then...got me to come down to earth while the Hermes  was being  built... leanrin' about   aircraft  and such?.... I didn't meet Shadow  until he was at the academy and  we went ta see him graduate... HAck ..he's always thinkin' ahead....

  his voice got a bit softer as he talked though some noodles,... ain't no one here that misses LAdy nore  then me..'cept maybe Shadow....sometimes?.. i watch vids of the lad beating Blu to paste.... wish i woulda had a bloody go too!

   Missy  eats a little, quietly in though  "Bo told me there was some hope.  Lady and Shadow have a son, who has many of Ladies memories.  I have a plan.  Perhaps we can make it so more like her can be part of the fleet."

  Rivets   chews,  wiping some   gravy of his  mustache,..don't know much abou bthat... Shade and Dusk? they are teo of a kind, yet different .. Dusk got a  bloody make over  By the Verians... but she still has her Father's...um...spirit..if you will... she seems to have broken the ...condioning her  couisns had...... Shae..wrll..the wee lad  has some of his mother.. just seein' him do somestuff...but he's  as unfergivin' as his dad... an sure don't  take  any...er.... droppings  from no one....

  Rivets shook his  head,..they have engineers  right enough...but the folks in charge of their bodies, are sorat like Med techs... the only differance.. they aren't a fraid to scrap, or Modify...don't know how  someone would be able to get close  enough to them people, to allow access like that?  You'd have a better chance sneakin' in  and usin the  Admirl's bathrub!

Justin strolled from the elevator and made his way to his favoured seat. Weaving his way through the tables he noticed Captain O'Reilly who here conversing with a Porcine Female. Surprised at what may have tempted Rivetts off  the Hanger deck.

    Rivets  waved Justin over when he saw him,..there's one of the Pilots  who have been around a while.. he   did some things  with yer  Brother....

     Others  were coming in now, that they have  Cleaned up. Supe,  Holden, Minnet and Tucker  went to sit  near the   Scots.  Hemsly was  telling grand  stories of  Mission  in the days before they got posted to the Hermes.

  Steele  and Raven were off  by themselves   talking and eating

 others  were coming  and going.

   Missy looks at him and her eyes go flat.  "No thank you, I'd rather not speak to him."

   She looks down at her finished plate, "Well, I probably should get going.  I need to see what the core has in mind for me on the new ship."  She get's up and kisses Rivets on the cheek. "I hope to work with you in the future old man.  Keep yourself well." then heads for the hold.

  Rivets   stands as she  leaves, the  sits back down to  finish his   dinner.

   Waggles   came on the rec dec  with  Kat, they seemed to be in the midst of a agruement. of sorts.

Justin noticed Rivet's come over wave and diverted towards the Captain. Slipping around a couple of tables as the Porcine female kissed the Captain and hurried away. Reaching the Captain Justin stood at attention waiting for instruction or comment from him.

  Rivets  snorted a bit,..wannda ye to meet  Jagger's Sister...but  see seemed ta be in a bit of a hurry?

Justin relaxed as he slipped into the seat beside Rivets; catching the eye of a waitress he asked for a Hot Cocoa and four toasted HCT sandwiches, thanking her then turning towards the Captain. Jagger's Sister! glancing at what appeared to be a near running Porcine form; but that could just be the way the normally move. I take it that she's... Justin stopped his thought short, being, formed an opinion biased by her brother. Justin glanced again in her direction, thinking that the same could be applied to her. Dismissing this he glanced around as he waited for his order. Captain what do you think about the Bee?

  Rivets  shrugged,..her  family was nice  ta folks on Fuji  when  we had some of the...um...clean up...goin' on... Doc henry Found Orria there..er... she found''im..don't  rightly know... Stopped  down there a couple times   to gets  some  food   that Bo always bragged about... seems Like Missy is a big fan of the Hermes...

  The  waitress returned  with  Justin's  order,..now..the Bee?  I  dunno..but i don't  Fly... I kin pilot a shuttle in a pimch.. but you'd never catch me in a scout plane or  a torpedo craft...

 we'll have ta see what it does  against real shootin'..all comes  down to that..real pilots  tryin' ta kill each others. Heck?..Look at the  Mechs..ESN swore they would never use them  'cept for Colony defense  an' the Admiral went  ahead  and  let some folks give it a go?... had  Bone mech rider almost kil the lot of them, more then once... the others burnt out  and got sent  to colonies anyway?.. now?.. we got  4 machines  sitting there..and two riders?

 ..so?... tomorrow  Morning, we go down ta let the Naragrans  sign the pact...... then, striaght from there we  take a couple transports load of Colonists, troops  and Naragrans  down  ta there new Home on  Nivar... I'm thinking that new bird  will be flying with them...give iust a shakedown..and..mabbe a chance fer a fight, if there are some diehards   down there.

Justin thanked the waitress smiling pleasantly at her; while Rivets related what would be happening the next day. Taking a bite of sandwich he considered what he'd been told about the Porcine Clan, Doc Henry and Orria. Captain you've seen many a Pilot come through the Hangar Deck do you think Ensign Striker's got what it takes to survive her first action?

    well, Laddie?... I only saw three i thought would  amke it.... The Amirla when he was an LT..... Shadow..and Raven...but there's lots of others   who are still here,,so I guess that tell  ya what my thoughts are worth!...and its a bloody good thing...

 ..now..that new  Pilot  and her  new toy...ain't but one way ta find out.

Glancing at the Hulking Marine, who's proximity and appearance raised an image of the various hand to hand he'd endured against the Kerger. Balking at Garrat's to  likeness the Kergen, which cut Justin's comment short, he stared blankly at Garrat for several seconds before snapping back to the present. Garrat, you wouldn't have any Relatives who served on the Hermes?
