In reply to Garrat Wolfrim (msg # 932):

Justin took a sip of Hot Cocoa as he waggled half a toastie he was holding. You remind me of a Marine I had a series of MMA bouts with before he was transferred out. The Fellow was a regular brute, and I suspect put the fear of the death in any Demon who saw him coming for them.

<<<<<<<<<<  Zarina from Farm section via Officers Quarters.

Choosing a seat that has a porthole Zarina perched on the seat looked out of it at the darkness beyond. The Stars twinkled in the distance, she spotted different Delta Fleet Ships moving silently about. Turning back to spend some time People watching.

Garrat nods, "Ah, yes.  You mentioned him when I ran into you on the med deck.  A medic was offering you ....a treatment.  I was concerned at the time that he was being a little aggressive about it and I backed your free will.  That was before you expressed your concern about chain of command to Hack and he let you do a stint with the E-vols.  I was unhappy to see you go but it is good to have you back."

Re: REC DEC #4

In reply to Garrat Wolfrim (msg # 935):

Yep I recall doing so; I sustained quite a pummelling. One of the many MMA training sessions, he and his excessively Draconian Instructor buddy chose to inflict on me. Justin confirmed trying to divert attention from the flush of embarrassment, at being reminded of one of the host of errors in judgement he'd made and resisting the impulse of responding with 'He that is without sin'. Glancing at Rivetts, and thinking to himself 'I suspect there are quite a few Crew who don't feel the same way,as you; especoally since I'm still in  Hacks Black Book.' shrugged.[Private to Justin Kase: ref Med Lab pp 32-33 msg#773-800]

Before Justin left Garrat nodded, "Amongst my own people I couldn't keep my own mouth shut.  I was once the equivalent of one of our generals.  I went down to being a captain, and an unorthodox one at that.  You will find you path.  What Hack thinks is not important in this case."

Justin sips from the mug of Cocoa then nods. Looks like we both got the short end of the stick then. As for what Hack thinks not being important, you apparently haven't ruffled his feathers, that badly; best not to try the result can be dire. [Private to Garrat Wolfrim: Justin didn't leave Rivets did.]

Making her way from the towards the Sim area Zarina notices Captain O'Reilly walking away from the table, Ensign Kase and a ruggedly handsome Nordic fellow are seated. When Justin signals for to her to join them she decides to do so. Moving towards them she assesses the Blond fellow who's appearance has possibilities flashing them both a friendly smile. Hellow Justin...

Puzzled by Garrats comment about forced leave, Zarina suspected he had his own views on the matter. Likewise Garrat. Unless there's any other recently arrived ships here that would be me and my BB. ooc Baby Bee she beemed Slipping into the offered seat. Cocking her head inquisitively to one side she lowers her eyes to avoid possible offence Could I ask you a couple of questions about your situation if he hasn't any objections she glances at him drinking in his good looks then looks at the table top. How long do you think this leave will be? Are your people part of the Alliance?

Re: REC DEC #4

Garrats laughter booms.  "From here, I don't even know where my people are."

He orders a mead and settles into the story "Okay, you might not believe this but I'm beyond caring at this point.  In the old days this section of the universe was linked with two others through a series of worm holes referred to as the great tree, sometimes translated as the life tree as it brought life to distant parts of the known universe in the form of trade."

He receives his drink, thanks the waitress and continues telling the story,  "A war in my section of space damaged many of the suns in my space disrupting the gravity lenses that directed the worm holes cutting off my space from others.  To make things short I got caught in a ...let's call it an event that opened up a hole between where I was and Astra.  Now I can't get home."

He takes a drink.  "And that is the true, if unbelievable story."

How sad, to be cut off from your comrades, friends and family. I'd be simply beside myself with worry and grief. Hopefully you're not at a loss trying to understand humans and our ways of doing things, they can be quite sigular.

"That's the amusing part.  I AM human minus some carefully managed diseases, and most Einherjar come from earth stock.  Still your right, there have been some confusing developments since we stopped having contact with your people."   He sighs, "As frustrating as it seems, I am finding that I'm kinda here for a reason so that takes the edge off things."  He takes a swig off his mead. "Stay long enough on this ship and you'll be in the web too.  The Hermes has a peculiar bearing on fate."

Re: REC DEC #4

You're human, then your not alone after all. Has your DNA been registered it'll enable the MedTec's to locate distant relatives. Zarina encourages From what I've read and seen of the Hermes its got a certain aspect about it, like a weirdness magnet, attracting both boon and adversity, in a strange meshing of destiny that impacts on the lives and outcomes of Many Species. taken aback by her insight Zarina blinks in wonder at what she just said.

Re: REC DEC #4

In reply to Garrat Wolfrim (msg # 950):

Garrats contradictory comments were puzzling. Einherjarian or Asgardian, or whatever your race is, isn't really Human; not that it matters. Except when it comes to relationships, which is a pity he had such promise, she thought to herself. Still I suspect you are managing your isolation well enough, there are quite a few distractions to keep anyone from brooding. There's Planets of Demons to contend with.

Giving her head a shake at Garrats error. It's regrettable that you think that Garrat. Humans are from Earth, albeit there has been Angel and Demon aspects introduced into some sections of humanity. Whom, I suspect may be those you are referring to in you assumption.

Garrat Laughs. "Well, when you have time feel free to talk with Stephie, the head medic on this ship, about whether or not I'm human.  Then ask her if my genetics identify me as coming from any existing gene pool on Earth.  Beyond that, I see no reason to argue about the issue as we are on the same team, and that's what counts."

Sipping at her beer Zarina gave Garrat a smile. Sorry if I come across as argumentative Garrat. I was angling more for clarification. There are quite a few Races in the Alliance and it helps not to have uncertainties dangling about, which can lead to all manner of situations. Yes We're all on the same team, out to stomp the Demon consortium.

Garrat gets a blip on his com and he looks down He lapses into an old Tautonic dialect which his wrist chip translates [that's how this game explains how different races communicate without knowing eachother's language] "Well hey, it looks like their playing our song.  Time to suit up and dance."  Back in proper English. "I'll look foreward to speaking with you latter."  He leaves to get ready for the mission
