 The Folks in the Stem are  still   a bit  'flexed' they are about  4 hours or so behind   the  people on the Rec Dec.

 Once their   Op is  done, they can   move up to 'currant' time.

 everyone , not  in the Stem  is considered, currant time.

 we know Justin is going to be spotty at best until the 1st or 2nd

 Cookie  will be spotty as well  for other RL resons.

 Harry will be limited or  off for the weekend, hopefully back by Monday or  sneak a post or two in, if she has  conncetions

 everyone  else?  we know its  the weekend and they are  a bit slow anyway..so?..post when you can.. I'll be around.

 I don't see why not, as long as you do not use  any 'future' knowledge in Stem posts.

 I was  just going to announce   , yesterday, but had to   take care of Grankids That the Stem will be Flex for a bit.

I think all we have there is  Garrat nand HAns  as PCs, so?  make sure you (( Flex )) when posting...until I  ( you you guys) end the Flex there.

 The  Translator-Wrist chip ( its  somewhere in the Note sections ,,maybe  under  fleet )

 The Mulls , more  or less , run  the 'banking' in this Galaxy .. the  ship holds  your  account  records, helps  state if you 'died' and  works as a translatetor.

 for the most part, you hear your  common language in your head as the translator  works  to sift out the words you need...your more or less hear the  language, but your  brain  picks up what the ship is saying...because of this  and ..that all babies born are chipped.. it becomes more fluid  as the years go on.. there are some languages or dialects that can't be, or  aren't real clear...

no. once the chip is implanted it becomes part of the  nervous system.. and feeds to the Audio  receievers in the brain.

 there  can be ( have been ..will be?)  a brain chip.. but hat is more.. risky, since , if the  get zapped.. so does your  brain!

I read a Peter Hamilton book (ok several) that used nanotech to install "neuro-nanonics" into the base of the skull which was essentially a very high powered smart phone though I think the tech level is a bit higher than what is currently available in this universe

  there are al kinds of  translatoers in Sci-fi...one comes to mind is from Farscape.. the human was injected with Nanobots  so he  could  understand  everyone.

  John Carter of MArs ( movie).. he  drank some juice  that the female  gave him so he  could understand  words..  I read all  those books, can't remember how he understood them in the books.

  13th Warrior , the hero sits there  and   figures out what they are saying  by listening..which?.. wouldn't  work unless they were trying to teach him.

  Star trek had translators, as  does  Starwars..

  and  many SCI-fi and  Fantasy have  'trade Common'... though I do have that in place, of sorts, its not something  folks  could  banter with.

whilst we're on techy questions, are the simulators total immersion like in Star trek where its almost like the real thing? or is it the glorified arcade game style currently being used?

 For  the SIMS..  once you climb in, you are 'IN' a aircraft tghat is Programmed ( Shadow   has WW1 aircraft  in there, but rarly gets to  use it)

 It has been Updated ( through   Justin and the Test Pilot , Stryker ) with the Bee , as well   as DArts  HAmmers... we have some of the Demon fighters uploaded  , and LArgran.. the  Creshian aircraft have been  left out until we get more  Gun CAm's on them, or?.. capture one.

   for training..  the officer giving a test ( or a bet by pilots)...the pilot  can be   hooked up with electrodes that cause  pain when you get hit..  and extra  Zapped if you get shot  down...

  for the most part, they have  Sims  of space  and Atmo  with objectives for training and Logging  hours.
