  After speaking with Teela, Garrat makes his way to the LG01 and starts to help get things together and get all of the permission slps and agreements together.

   "I need all the spare parts we have on the LGT, I'm going to take the IS to see if we can get enough workable parts.  Strictly 17 years and older and if you don't want to see dead sentient beings, don't step up."  Garrat chose three best mech pilots from those present, and a handfull of scrappers including adults who were interested.

   They managed to secure two good frams that had been destroyed by shooting under the cockpit as Garrat had suggested and taken little enough damaged to be returned to working order with some effort.

   The IS caught up with the LG01 On the way back to Fuji.  Working feverishly they were able to get the two mechs ready for the training grounds and make sure the others were painted with the LG color scheme.

    While Garrat working in the scraping area on mechs, Missy comes by in a stunning evining gown, "Leave it to the kids for a bit boss.  You will be expected at the Admirals party to make your usual sour comments to the arrogant assholes that show up.  Besides, they will likely have proving ground officials you need to talk to there."

   She looks around "C'mon, pack up.  I'll take you back to your ship."

   Garrat rolls out. "Okay, we're almost done he...wow, nice outfit."  He looks around, "Okay guys, close up, she's good to go.  Get her painted and get some rest.  Remember, this is a serious mission.  You are to represent everything you want to become so you will be expected to stay calm and patient and follow any instructions to a tee.  Make sure your chip cuffs are completely downloaded with unit software or you don't go.  If you have any gun powder to get out of your veins before you go.  Failure to make us shine in anyway means your kicked out of the unit... or worse.  Do I make myself CLEAR!!"

    "Okay missy," he grabs a near by duffle "I'll pick up my gear latter, I'm ready to go."

Missy is waiting for repairs to come in.  “Do you want me to take her Rivets? I don’t have any of the new birds for her to take, but we can put her in the next best thing.

Missy Is working on the Mech scrapping deck Getting hover bikes ready to take down to the planets surface for rental.  She looks up from working on the hover bikes.  “I did, he should solve a lot of our problems. But working all of the ask for engineering is going to be a little difficult. Why the sudden push for this?

“I have seen the new Mechs.  They are smaller Than  an Asgard Einherjar  power-suite.  If we are going to train these kids on combat suits, we might as well stick with the fish and vamp Mechs.  They are far closer to ESN issue and most of our kids are more into operating Mechs than fighting with them.   Re-designing the Largan Mechs  has engineering Mechs With minor battle capability allows the LG to deploy them as it’s own forward scavenging unit during cleanup.   That way your “brass” cannot complain about Having them on board.

     As both a competent pilot and confident angel,  as both a competent pilot and confident angel, Teela didn’t feel out of place on the LG though it was a bit of an adventure to be introduced into the scrapper culture that Garrat already seemed part of.  She listened with some interest to the conversation between the Einherjar and the Porcine noting the working relationship between the two.  She kinda enjoyed seeing this side of her man but felt a little like a fifth wheel.  Is there anything I can help with?”

Garrat looks around as the Mech teams and their families are working to alter the Largan Mechs.  He notes what Missy is doing with the hover bikes.  “I’ll send the word around.  If any of the groups need someone to help calibrate the control systems, you should be used to doing doing that in maintenance of your fighter.  In the mean time jimmy over there wants to be a pilot when he grows up.  It would make his day to be able too pick the mind of a good pilot.

Everyone  spent the time Preparing for landfall on Bura.  Mechs were prepared for exercises if those would be allowed, as many other bikes as possible were made ready for renting, And people prepared for shore leave,

  The imigrants song was loaded with the 3 amphibious mechs and apc for testing in the waters of bura and the three completed CB mechs.  It was also loaded with a couple of hover vans owned by companies on the LG so the LG vendors could set up stalls that they had booked ahead for in the Burean market place.

    Missy was getting worn out fast.  The battle had been brutal, and many of the ships were obliterated rather than damaged.  Still, the sheer numbers of combatants had fighters from the smaller ships in the fleet limping in left and right.  The LG was sneaking closer to the battle than it probably should have to supply a recovery dock for fighters that no longer had a capital ship to return to and be closer for those stricken craft that might not be able to fly all the way into the center of the support ships to be helped.  Two retired pool pilots had been borrowed to man old hammers with armor and magnetic skids rather than weapons.  they rescued several craft that made it into the vicinity of the LG but.

   The people on the repair deck were there to watch in horror as the mad drive to ram the Hermes was made and the mixed relief of the harvester taking it's brutal beating left an empty feeling in their gut.

   Missy immediately called down to the foundry to have them start pouring structural members.  It would take more than patch jobs to bring that noble ship back from the edge of oblivion.  She had a surprisingly brief argument with her supervisor about the direction of resources, she suspected there was a contract with the ESN for emergency situations that she didn't know about but her shuttles weren't enough.  The harvestor would need heavy duty wielding equipment that was hard to move...unless it was already mounted on a large mech, and cross members that could only fit on a big ugly...or a Largan transport.

    She got on her Com.  "Garrat, we need some one to fly The Immigrants Song for relief efforts for the Harvester.  Are you up for it?"

Melia sends Missy and order for a hover bike, "Hey Missy, looking to get me hover bike of my own. Needs to be able to be used on some of the special missions we go on so gear storage, bag clips, any other packages or capabilities you have. Kinda hoping for something that is unique to me, quick and agile and rugged, but also clean enough for me to roll up to an event or the like and turn heads. I'm willing to work with you and pay extra for upgrades and options as needed. Let me know what you have/can do! Thanks"

    “That’s a pretty penny there Melia.  You will want full speed and hover ability, in the standard sports model as apose to Zobs Fat-boy.  I can work out a payment plan though.  We have worked out a weapons storage system while working on Shadows bike that is mounted in the nose and  allows you to snap a gun in place so it can be triggered to fire foreward in a straggling attack but we have to customize it to your preferred weapon.  Naturally we cannot shipp it for you with weapons on board so you will have to clip them in later.  Do you want your storage hard sided or collapsible saddle bag?”

    The LG-01 was very busy.  The shuttles kept retrieving the write-offs that the AP ships were pushing into the void (when it was relatively safe of course). Wounded ships unable to land were recovered by the tender and scrapper shuttles.  Some time s the pilots had to be rescued before their air ran out.

    The IS had come by and picked up some of the stranded pilots and dropped others off as it made it’s way through the fleet.

    Missy knew the toll on resources that this battle had taken.  The scrapper decks were crowded with damaged fighters, the gravity low and the ceilings magnetized as every qualified soul in the station worked to sort the scrap from the salvage trying to make room for the next batch dropped off.

    She takes a breath in the madness and coms Rivets “how are you folks doing over there?”

 Rivets  COM  came back...The 'anger Dec is doin'  fine... The Ship took her  Lumps , an' that's me sayin'.  Lost alot of me  lads  and Lasses   again...gettin' so's a new recruit is  high on the seniority lists!... The LC's  folks took a beatin' too. but i think they gave  more 'n  they got.

    “We weee listening to the feeds as we worked.  They were really kicking ass.  Right now we are trying to get as many ships processed as possible.  Most are write offs but we should be able to assemble at least a half a dozen, maybe a full from those “write offs.”  Once I get a handle on things I have two crews that should represent well if I loan them to you till we get into port.  It will give me a chance to field train our reserves and you’ll be getting our best.”

The LG01 had stayed back with the rest of the support ships.  Well away from the primary battle, it was still in danger…nothing was safe.

    Missy stood on the Scrapping Deck watching the flashes in the distance.

    Behind her students scrambled into mechs under Slicks careful watch.  This was the last line of defense but Missy prayed they wouldn’t be needed.  Th blast doors closed between her and the void.  Why did it not make her feel better?

    She turned and headed to the repair deck.

   Missy was busy, very busy.  The battle was far too nasty for any of her shuttles to get close and rescue stricken ships, but the wounded fighters began to stream in when their mother ships were too hot for landing or just plain destroyed.  Others with limited landing or steering abilities knew the LG01 Retrofit was equipped to handle their emergencies.

   The deck was like a primitive war triage center.  Injured pilots being rushed from their ships, immediately repairable fighters feverishly worked on, longer repairs towed away or transported to the spine for storage to make room for the next wave...and then it happened.

   The massive largan ship detonated like a nuclear bomb.  Others were swept up in a destructive wave spreading outward.

   Missy turned and stared in horror for only a moment then swept into action.  "CLOSE THE DOORS!!! EVERYONE NOT IN JUMP-SUITS OFF THE DECK."
    Ever since Garrat had lost personel when his ship was decompressed she had encouraged her staff to wear environment suits but habits are slow to break.

   The explosion was far away and the energy shock wave likely wouldn't hit the ship hard but there was always the chance it would knock out the static field.

   The bay doors had been closed only twice since the retrofit so she didn't know how well they would now.  "Get away from the craft, if they shift I don't want anyone crushed on the bulkhead!"

    No time to tie down, they would just have to stand back and hope for the best.  The ship sounded the brace alarm and all craft flew to the leeward side of the old capitol ship and waited for the wave to pass.

  The   LG gets rocked  slightly,  as the   dissipating wave  hit it... several fighters   trying to make their way  to the LG were tossed  about, causing some over loads,  and  console fries, as they drifted   in the Black.

 some of the aircraft on the  spine  took power -related hits...  , some  lighter things  rolled  or flew  around , until the LG  settles    to an even keel.

    “Alright, looks like we got really lucky.  Everyone back to work, we have a war to keep running.”

Missy was busy, very busy.  They were getting in far more ships than they could pump out.  Soon the reserves were empty and the repairs were too slow to provide flights out.  The storage bays below the repair hanger had been converted into an infirmary but it was nowhere’s near as effective as Stephanie’s deck.  Just good enough to stabilize the heavily injured, patch scratches on the lightly injured and start basics on those in between.  Memphis noodles delivered plenty of piping hot ramen and other merchants supported the pilots in their own way.

    Slick and his mech students from the academy patrols the passage ways, cockpits open, and some of the more promising pilots helped jockey damaged craft.

    A Hermes pilot landed, damaged and out of munitions.  Missy saw it could be a five minute turnaround and jumped in herself.  “Common, out of the cockpit so I can plug into the computer and get you back on track.  How’s things going for the Hermes?”

 Lona Lake was the Pilot, she  was looking at the scorch marks  and   holes in the tail fin...I don't kow   much about Fleet fighting..I just fly  fighters??.. but a bunch of Empire  types  are running... others   are fighting , and it seems  everyone is focusing on  The Hermes..

   Missy almost missed the diagnosis port she was trying to plug into.  “Business first she told herself and started reading the print out.  “Wise to be checking back there, your MAS on that stabilizer is slagged, in fact many of your mission adaptable surfaces are out but you don’t need those in space.”
    “Primary coolant systems need some patches, rear lateral maneuvering thruster needs to be swapped out and a couple of little details patched up.”

    Missy throws in with the workers “should have it done in no time.  Grab a cup of noodles, but eat quickly”

  Lona  Nodded her  head , movign out of the  way, her  eyes looked towards the bright area where the heaviest of the fighting was taken place....

 hurry..i need to get back...

   “I want you in the fight.”  Missy said “but you can’t help the Hermes in a broken ship.”  She walks around and checks off on a coolant seal  “It’ll be ready as soon as I know it’s safe,  now get some food and coffee in you.  You’ll need to be ready.”

    Only a little bit later they had Lona in the seat checking out the settings “Great,” missy said taking the empty ramen bowl and knocking twice on the fuselage “ get out there, save our people and stay alive.”  The crew were already getting the repair gear clear.

    Missy watched her go and look across the void to the action around the Hermes.
