Re: Mission Room

If it is at all possible Hawkeye manages to look disgusted, sick, enraged, and melancholy all at the same time.  The Avians were one thing,  they fed like beasts but these.... these Hillites put on the facade of sophistication while gorging themselves on the flesh of another sentient being.  She gripped the armrests of her seat angrily bracing herself.  Maybe Hack, Shadow and the others were right.  Maybe mercy was too much for these immoral and predatory species. She takes a deep breath re-centering herself regaining her calm. No there was always hope of peaceful resolution.  Maybe the delta fleets foist strike would be cataclysmic enough to force the Hillites to reconsider their position.  She continues to listen to the brief trying to keep her anger from getting the best of her.

Shadow was crouched on  Dec hear the end of the flight line. He was shaking his head, if he was concerned  about the Hillites,  no one could tell. Vinnie  walked  down the  flight line  with a Coffee  for him and passed a few Boxes of Doughnuts  around.

Hemlsy took a doughnut  and whispers  over  Shadows' shoulder,..ye think the bleedin' fools  would learn by now?

shadow took a bite  of his Doughnut and   smiled as he tried to talk around it,how long you been out here? Everyone things  they are better then us, 'cause they were  flying around before us? heck.. fi we  would  have  learned , how they learned, and didn't  have all kinds of fairy tales holding us back?..who knows?...but these bastards?.... yeah..I'm going to enjoy this, i think.

...........

Rolf  grabbed   Cat't  left  hand in his. his thinned line  smile  showed his  restraint...his  eyes  did  not hide his anger.

Re: Mission Room

Captain Thomas Spartan started laughing as the feed was cut. A hearty, bellowing laughter, seemingly without cause. It lasted for only a few seconds, but enough to turn heads. He even held his belly in amusement, like the santa claus of old.
"Well, Admiral," he managed to state between laughs, "It looks like you have those pesky aliens nervous! Good show! Do you have any information on the amount of forces they can muster? You can bet they are going to prepare themselves right away..."

The idiotJackass, thought he was all that.  I had half a mind to challenge him to one on one combat over whether they surrender peacefully or not.  It would have given them the time to actually do it.  A gift to a society that had to live under that fool."

He looks at the screens. "These canines show a little promise for a good civilization unlike the mulls.  I wonder,  Will you give them a chance to surrender as individuals?"

Re: Mission Room

Hack   waited a Moment, then looked at Beth , who shook her head. Then he accepted another cup of  coffee from  Si.

he Turned to the Hanger Dec...As of..right now...all scout ships are being recalled...no  merchants ships will be allowed inside  the fleet area..or out of it...until this mission is   done.

Thanks to some   quick thinking  by  Mr O'higgens , we have tracked the ship to H3.... from the  few readings  we have, it seems like the place they  take thier   spoils of  'war'.......

..H2... his  the   Capitol, and where out  new friends were having thier Dinner...thanks to the COM.. we know ...right...where..they...are....

he points , Beth  fusses  with her Machines  and a tiny blue dot  light up in the Northern part of the planet.

H1...is there ...'tool' planet...though they are  working hard at  getting rid of thier  'greenhouse' they still have, 80% of the manufacturing there.

So , SGT MAJ. you . The MAster CHIef, and SGT GArrat will be  taking the Duces  down  to visit the Council... The LC will  be brining the whole of the Hermes   fighters as escort....

while that is going on... a BIg Ugly will take  the Mechs  down to H3... that is were   most of the troops  are going to hit... their objective  is to free prisoners... and Kill as many Hillites    as possible.. Capt Nilsson will be  going with them in his Morningstar... and the HArvester will be following them... The Zeus , Hydra , and adobe  and Tin  will be there as well.

The  Hermes  and Artemis will be  going to  H2, along with the Teak and Pine....

Captain Spartan was agreed to help us...he  will be  going to H1 alone.... the Prowler  will follow him, about have way in, her fighters  will escort him the rest of the way in...

One  hour..after   we  launch the attack all ships  will be spread  out  and attack the  Hillite system  with only our COM patches to stop them from hitting  allied  forces...so..if you lose you COM... stay near some one who has one!~

..The Sif  and Tyr will remain  as reserves   and to protect the three Hospital ship.... The transport/bases  are going to spread out  and drop transports  of troops and armor ...

At every word  Little  green lights popped up showing  where   out folks would be.

Then he Looks at the Holo map and nods his head, needless to say.... we don't  know what we will run into on the ground. reports of Hillites as fighters, seem to make them sound ...very scary....but?.. they have never..ever..fought a real war.... with  houses blowing up and thier families in danger.....to that end? We  will NOT...i say again...will NOT..take prisoners, unless they show themselves openly to not be a  threat...regardless of if they have  ever  taken part in a war? they do know the rules.... Beth sent them some..so? some one  cries  out from inside a building?.. You blow it up..some one   holds up thier hand s with no weapons..then you zip tie the bastards  and leave them on the  ground... if we win? we'll round them up... if  we lose?..their  buddies  can free them... but we are here  for one reason.. to get APF  people off these  rocks...and..well..to  give them a taste of   total war...

 Hennings   whispered something...

 ..ok..2  reasons...he smiles.

 sipping from his cup...questions?

Spartan enjoyed the enthousiasm the crew of the Hermes showed. It reminded him the feeling of unity, the one thing he missed at times.
Thinking a moment he cleared his throat.

Pointing to Spartan, so  folks could hear the question,.... we have only readings that  scotu ships a nd a few merchants let us know. @We have a  few..'coast watchers" in teh form of Occui commandos who  have  feed feeing  us  ,w aht little Intel they can get... the planets..i undertsand. are earthlike. maybe a tab more O2?  Thier  plants  in insects seem to be a bit  bigger..... i should thing..they will have some  AA?...but the triad  has been the  big dog in the Beta Quad  for  some time... the only folks they had to worry about  was the  Empire...now?... that rock, has just been paired with...'a hard place'

after the pregame, and the Commanders of the Unit s  will meet me in the shuttle section.

turning to Cat he  smiles  a bit sadly,we'll be sending you   the the other  two Med techs that have been on the away teams  before..i would refrain from eating  anything. unless you find it in a Hiltie home?..they are omnivorous? They just like meat more...

Slightly distracted by the activity in the room Ominarah apologised because she didn't quite catch the first part that David had said. She noticed Catrina Price with some of the MedTechs off to one side of the room; she suggesting that The Lt could give them an update. On hearing the Admirals Reply to Cat, she gave Dave a sideglance. Sounds like I'll be headed dirtside. she commented giving David a smile and come along wave, as she moving towards the Lt and her co MedTech's.

  Shadow  raised his hand,..LC?

Their  fights, from the  things  we have on file?..i mean...do we need the  whole  Hermes  wing?Don't you think   we could keep some around the Hermes?

.... LC?..they are lightly armored.. even thier  'heavy figthers"  aren't much heavier them the HAmmer IIIs we used to use...but they are fast... if...they have a decent pilot? they may be able to out  turn you Do not take them for granted...

Never, Ma'am..i am concerned about leaving the Hermes  without fighters...

...we have the  other ships  coming in after the first hour.... if things  get  bad, we'll launch the torpedo craft, and the Pool pilots.... we could  even send up the   stoly's  with some  marines   to use thier guns...

 Aye, Sir.Ma'am......

Nodding in understanding of the answer to her question Catrina waits for the briefing to break up for preparations.  Once everyone starts to go there separate ways,  she stands. "I should go crack the whip in the med lab make sure all the techs are squared away for this op. Stay safe." She finishes kind of shyly. Pausing for a moment before heading to the med lab.

Before they had an opportunity to reach Cat, the Lieutenant headed for an elevator, leaving Ominarah and David to watch after her. Tilting her head in inquisitive manner Ominarah gives David a smile and starts tapping out a request to be part of Sergeant Major Spencers Team, in the action that will be taking place.

Roy nodded, grimly.  He was trying to assess which armaments would be best to bring, and which crew should go where...but anything further the Admiral had to add would possibly help bring those decisions into clearer focus.  He moved without further ado to the area the Admiral had indicated, his brow furrowed slightly in concentration as he ran different combinations through his mind.

Re: Mission Room

Karl had listened to the mission information in silence.  He was conflicted...the mission they were assigning him was very definitely not what the Morning Stars were designed to do.  His instinct was to push to follow the shuttles in, and fly overwatch for them, maintaining a containment perimeter.

But his assignment was crucial, from the sound of things.  And there wasn't another plane in the fleet that was suited to the task.  For the amount of firepower he fielded in one craft, they could tie up three or four fighters to try and get the same result...fighters which were likely to be desperately needed somewhere else.  And it wasn't like he hadn't already pushed the envelope of the Morning Star's mission capabilities on several other occasions.

With that realization, he nodded in grim resolve.  Escort duty...if he survived, it would make an interesting write-up.  But, as with every other order he'd received, he do his damnedest to carry it out.

That resolve continued as the Admiral ordered them to the shuttle section of the hangar, and he made his way through the dispersing crowd without comment.  It was actually surprisingly easy for him.  With the exception of a few ground crew personnel, he'd not taken the time to get to know many people aboard.  He was, quite frankly, surprised to still be alive, given the high-risk nature of the missions he typically flew and the fact that his was the only remaining active Morning Star in the fleet...that sense that his existence was a fleeting thing didn't leave him inclined to get very familiar with anyone around him.
