Judging by the glare she received from her sister Harry had hit the nail right on the head with her comment, with her continuing to quietly chuckle to herself as they waited for everyone to arrive. With one of the rooks making the mistake of not taking the Hot Comm seriously enough there would be a quick reorganisation of the flights to take into account the luckless individuals sudden demotion to pool pilot before they were given the order to mount up.

Dashing over to her shiny new Mantis Harry would swiftly scramble into the cockpit and pull on her bright yellow flight helmet that had a pair of skull and crossbones stencilled on the side before then finding a place for Hamlet to sit. With the canopy closing with a hiss she would then power the engines and await Shadow's signal to take off, acknowledging Shadow's comm as she did so "Roger that LC, Watch and learn baby sis it's time you learned how to play with the big girls" Harry said over her comms in a business like manner making it clear that the time for teasing her baby sister had come to an end and that she expected her to follow her instructions "This is ESN 117, all systems are a go...I'm ready when you are"

Kira sighed as she stepped off the elevator, she had some donuts with her having stopped off at the Rec Dec to get some for the team, upon arriving in the mech bay she set down the donuts and got a cup of coffee as she looked over her vid board she still had to finish the other 40% of her mechs paint job which would be the focus of her day so after taking a few drinks of her coffee she got the paints hauled over and got to work on the paint job.

Nikki had already dropped Haley off at the school then headed to the hangar.  She watched other pilots go and be assigned and such.  She was still learning and it would take time, she knew.  Until then, being a shuttle pilot and a tech repairer would have to do.  for now her job was to get the Diamond back into condition.  After the Pit battle damn near took her out.  Some techs already had many repairs done, she began to finish them, make the old girl brand new again.  She spotted Stoly nearby "Stoly.  Saw your fathers photo back on Fuji.  Over at the museum" she said with a smile.

  Stoy  smiled    as he sat on the top of his  shuttle...yeah...he deserves it too. Damn shame  , on Earth. he's just know  as  a Shuttle instructor.. . Pretty sure  he's still alive   back there...We  sure  could use him out here!..Fuji Tech, made sure  to honor him...

Roger that Flight. During that mentioned time I was undertaking a vital R&D project. The prototype was evaluated recently and the end product will be deployed as required. Justin replied following Steel through the Stasis Field and into the Black.

Upon receiving the go ahead from Shadow, Harry quickly perform a few last minute checks before gently easing her shiny new Mantis into the air and head out into the Black to join the rest of her flight.

She continued a walk around examining what was fixed and not as she talked to Stoly "Yeah said he was working on the ROC's" She stopped at a panel that was off and had a mess of wiring hanging out.  A small table near the shuttles held most of the needed repair implements, she moved there to retrieve a device she started to use.  before touching the wires she checked the parts update list as well. then began to work on her shuttle.

Though many other techs ran about fixing the craft a well, another pair of hands could not hurt.

  Stoly  tapped   on the   Top Bubble  with a   Hydrospanner,..Try it now!

 a Head popped  up  as the    cunner     sat in the BAll  gun  chair, it  spun  around, but it  seemed to stick around   11:00...

  Stoly called over to Rivets,..Captain!.. I took this  damn thing off twice.. we  cleaned the   rail  and  regreased it..it still sticks   at  11:00..just for a heart beat...

 Rivets   came over,don't seem like a big thing.. until you're  tryin' ta  track an enemy fight.. that  'stick'  could be the differance in  Knocking it  down..it  it  knocking you down.. Go Ta the  QM,, get a whole  New  Ring.. can't  fight a  war  half assed!

  The  Gunner   dropped  down and Jogged to the QMs.

  Rivets looked  at  Nikki,..what about you're   bird?.. she ok?  Last I hear  COM   links   were   down  and  some steering?

   The  new    Gremlin I  stood there... Morgan had the face of a Mongoose  around the  Cockpit, Its  Mouth  'opened'   to where Morgan  would    Sit.. Dark Yellow  with  Green and Brown Mottled spots,  and a   Hermes  Foot Decal from   the figthers on the   Back.

  Under the  Cockpit  it  said  'Morgan".. Above the Cockpit , between the eyes of the MOngoose, was  351 Hermes

Kira after a bit finished the design on her Mech she added her name below the cockpit like Morgan did and the 351 Hermes above it, "Looking good there Morgan" she said with a smile.

She looked at Rivets. "Well looks like a lot of the big thing have been repaied like the port side bubble.  took a helluva lot of debris from the redtail we had to shoot and the apc that exploded as well.  some nearly came into the cockkpit to ride shotgun with me.  it chewed a lot of wires" sshe shrugged a bit "Diamonds tough, she can take it. I'm gonna go through all her wiring, make sure she is 100%.  Not like that thing they had us try on Fuji. using a probe to touch several wires one at a time.

  Rivets Looks  Over the Diamond  as  Stouly, his  Top Gunner   and   two  Techs   take off the Metaglass of the  ball gun..

  well?   anyhtin'  we  get from Stoly the Elder, will be a workhorse..he's  been there... so's he  knows....The  bad  thing  is.. he has  ta  send the Plans  up the line, an' they gotta  get  built  at Fuji, cause  they'd  never get them  shipped here....or worse?.. they be  given to  the  SSN...

She nodded in agreement as she continued.  She did know a little about 'another project' Stoly Senior was with  "Could you hand over those .107 needle nose pliers?  Please.  Think I got the little culprit.  Let go I'll lose it in the bundle again" she gestured to the small table that looked like an oversized surgical tray with tools laid out on it.  "If that was the 'ROC' in the photograph, looks like it could be a real work beast, but it was half clipped off."

"That could be true.  Koffel did not really seem to be on the up and up side.  That hunk a junk both I and Kase flew was horrifying" she striped the one wire with the pliers and found the mate to it.  There was a small spark then several instruments lit up in the cockpit of the Diamond "Found ya!  Ya little stinker."  She moved to check to see the light ups and recheck to make sure it was the right one.  "Port side Avionics operational.  ow lets round up the other little puppies and get them working" she began again with the probe and began the intense search for the right cross wire.

  Nikkie    had to remove   another  panel as she   found a shard  from a shredded  plate that   had  , barely sliced  the    wiring, but..it  contacted    all 6  wires causing them to  short, or  cross-message.

  a  swing  Crane   now   held the Metaglass  Bubble , swinging it a   Bit away   as   two Techs  and Stoly   removed the   offending    gun ring..

 .. These  damn things  wouldn't be a problem if the   Rings  were inside  the   craft...  Stoly     groused   as  they    removed the  Bolts  that    held  the   Ring in place.

 Morgan   walked  around his   Gremlin, an odd, turned up, smile on his face,... 2  thirds  as  high...  one half the weight, almost 3  times  as  fast... wonder how she will do when   we get a jump off?

"Crap" she said with emphasis.  Then carefully one by one removed each wire from the shard.  Then removed it and double checked where it came from.  Then called in to get that part replaced.  She then set about recoonnecting appropriate wires and thier counterparts.  "Feel like I should learn to crochet" she said as she did

Kira wiped off her hands on a shop rag and grabbed another coffee and took a sip, "Well armored, smaller target, and fast as all hell with versatile weapon systems... for certain gonna make a statement on the battlefield on the next jump off... also stopped in and checked on Clark hes in pretty rough shape probably should of laid off the Buraian rum"

 Stoly  spent   time switching off between  swearing in Russian, english, and Maybe Swedish?  But they  Finally Got the  Old  ring  Off, two Techs  Handign It    down to Rivets  who   laid it on a  crate  and  ran a finger   slowly   around the  inside grove.

 ..Bloody chip in the Grove.., Just enough fer the   slide to catch, but not big enopugh ta  stop it... it  would have  locked up sooner or later...

"Not laughing...Diamond had O ring problems on the top gun back on Aqra.  Crap happens, dig in deep and fix it.  All we can do" This time splicing a few other wires "And I am glad that shard didn't go further or someone was going to be very unhappy" A ream of laser like beeping came on.  Again she checked and double checked "Main stabilizers working 95...nope 100%" she said making one more twist with the pliers, glancing at the panels.  After those 2 were done and then finally finding the starboard side avionics she moved a moment and marked them off the checklist.  "Truth...this kinda reminds me of being back home.  Had farm equipment that should probably be in a museum we used.  My brother Marshall and I would be the ones to fix it and keep them running"

Kira takes a sip and moves over to sit by Morgan, "This better not be a repeat issue Morgan... i just can't have people out of action in this team because they throw caution to the wind and overdue it on the drink"

Kira sighs a bit and takes another sip of coffee, "Not trying to sound like a condescending parent its just i care about this team and we gotta look out for each other if we want things to succeed"

  Morgan  chuckled , as he looked at her then Looked  back at his ride,..been around the  craters  a few times... seen alot..Ya know?... I've  seen drunks... and  I don't mean  the bad  kind.. i mean the ones who use it like Lube to keep them Going.... I've also seen Dumabsses.. we had  one  real big one?... still don't know   who the  9 hells  we made it off that Qarl ship?.. But  I'll tell you want?..     The  new  ring  was  settled   down, as the  Techs  bolted the brackets, Stoly  wiped the inside of the  channel with a shop cloth.

  The Bubblegunner  says,..this  damn thing   don't  work?  I'll just   still a  chair  and there, and hold  a MG in my hand ...and wear Heavy Boarding armor.

Kira sighed a bit as he mentioned Ajax, "I should of been more careful in that Creshian hive long while ago... got critically injured and i thought it was all over for me when Stefi told me i would never ride again... thanks to Fuji med techs im back here where i belong and still able to ride... i can't change what has happened with Ajax and his screw ups but i can make sure those mistakes are never repeated"

   Moragn  stands Up  to check the paint to see if its  ready for the   Clearcoat.we Got all kinds  of   History here.. Good s Ones...Like Stoly's Uncle... Thr COM -Tech that used to  be linked to Shadow, she pulled some  thigns out of the hat, i hear...Had that   Porcince  guy that got   waxed  on the Green Moon... Lots of  BAd..and   alot of  good... the main thing, is  not to repeat the bad.. and   keep making things good.. Clark has never let me down.. and  you'll  never see him run?.. Maybe  down the Line  we'll pick up another rider or two..and hope they stick.
