Quick question can multiple people be assigned to the same character.

Nope.  The GM can post as any character in the game, but players can only post as the character(s) assigned to them, and each character can only be assigned to an individual player.

Huh nice to know thanks. Figured there was a possible use to it, but it really wouldn't make any sense to have it that way yeah.

years ago, i set a limit.. 2 charcters  per player..you could earn a third, by being very active.

 BAd things happen  with that..so?.. any of the 3 charctrs  would close that  3rd slot..now?  you have to earn a second slot.

 As Roy mentioned.. I have a  drop down list  that I can insert any character's name.. a rarely do, the player themslevs  have to ask me..or..i might  post on in the name of one of the 'retires" charter  members, just for the sake of story.

 for My part, I will put a character's name in the post title..if  it refers to them, or they are prominent , other wis  I wil us elocation, mission ect.

 the ebst thing to do is skim the posts and see  if you , or  area..or..if it is something that might bring your  charcter into the  RP...when in doubt?  send me a PM or ask in OOC.

I wasn't even asking about this game though it's nice to know. I just wanted to know that, because I had an idea, and didn't know if it was viable. So, figured it was worthwhile to ask.

Thanks, I had a weird idea about 2 players controlling one character. Each one can post as the character, and the decisions would be based on which player chose to act first. Not a good idea, but one that I wanted to know the viability of. Not planning on doing anything with it, but just wanted to see if it's viable.

Yeah, It's a terrible idea just one that caused me to be curious about that question.

 a GM  can assign  another charcter to a Player.. anbd  both could post as that character.. that would be the onbly way for  two  to control.

 i have been in gaes, where a player who going to be away  will say that , whomever is  in the Mission...room ect ect...can  NPC thier character  while they are out...but its  rarely sued.

Somebody asked a similar question on one of the public forums a while back...don't recall which one.  I think their idea was to use the character as a record-keeper, of sorts, so everyone could access the same list and exit it easily...it was either that, or they wanted a character with multiple personalities, each played by a different player (I've seen both ideas set forth at some point, I just don't remember which one it was).  The moderators spelled it out plainly...no character can belong to more than one player.  I think the idea had been suggested, way back when, and was quickly shot down over concerns of what would happen if one of the players sabotaged the character out of spite.  That's a scenario they didn't want to mess with, so the option was never coded into the site.

yep Roy..and  with the hammer  coming down on you if you use more then one account.. they made it pretty clear of restricting such things.

 that is another reason why , only the GM  can use the character's name as the 'author ' of the post...it keeps  things like  screwing with another character  to a limit.

If someone leaves a game they are not apart of and are pm'd through it does it come back for them?
