Re: Matterhorn BEACH

Dusk  finally  got her  fisg close  enough  to the  ship for a crew men to net it... It was a decent size , but  the importtant thing was if was one of the finer eating fish.

Tuliun was a grand  fish, and one of the mor epopular eating fish.. Orria  nad one like Tullin , but   only 2 foot long, a good two feet shorter then Tulliun, But still a god  eating fish.

Re: Matterhorn BEACH

At Dusk's comment about having trouble, Roy nodded.  "There's no rush.  For a lot of guys back on Earth...probably a lot of other places, as well...the fun part is this, after the fish is on the line but before it gets to the boat.  No rush...the hook's obviously well set or it would have broken away by now, and unless you've tied onto a real monster, the line's gonna hold.  You've got the easy part, and the leverage...the fish doesn't have anything to help it swim away, so it's burning energy fast, especially when it fights harder.  Be patient, and keep working it..."

He was only half-attentive to his own line...and perfectly content to just--as the old saying went--"drown a worm".  He'd never really developed much of a taste for fish, and had enjoyed shooting far more than fishing when it came to outdoor recreation, so while he knew the basics, he didn't get the thrill out of it that a lot of others did.

As Dusk's fish finally came to the surface, and the boat's crew did their bit to get it out of the water, Roy nodded his approval.  "That's not a half-bad catch there.  You should get a picture with it...it's kind of a human tradition to memorialize 'major firsts' in life, and that's at least half your legacy..."  He chuckled, and gestured for one of the crew to get something set up so Dusk could hold her catch up beside her.

Haley yawned a bit from play, getting scared when the Browncoats attacked, more play and such.  She had danced for a bit but was not very enthusiastic.  She watched from her towel of others fishing, her eyes drooping wanting to sleep.   finally in the crowd she decided to nap just a bit

The  Crew got a Pic   with thier ship's Camera... Shadow took a pic  with his COM and sent it off to Lilit, The Admiral and Captain Si, and Beth...

You know...Ma'am..you can fetch alot of creds for that fish... its one of the best eating... The Little Miss and  That fellow  caught   the most popular, because they tend to be cheaper, and still tase  good...

Oh...I didn't think about eating it....can we release it?

The  Crewman shook his headits  wounded from the Hook? It won't last long out there  now. tis tired?

Dusk looked at the fish and said,Then you folks  take it?  you can sell it for rctra Creds or  add it to you  kitchen's menu to sell tomorrow?

The Captain Looked down from the  pilot chair...Aye? we can do that..ive the boys some extra spending Creds... Take it  to the Uppers, to really cash in..

Shade  came around, handing the crew his  Rod  , bleeping...

not a big deal buddy, next time we go fishing, you might land something..

Re: Matterhorn BEACH

Meari was happy for Dusk she caught a great fish and Tulliun did a very good job as well. Meari cast her last chance out, and she waited. Then she got a bite, she held the rod, and did what the others did. The fish fought for a little bit, and Meari could tell it was smaller than everyone else's. Meari didn't care she had caught a fish, she reeled it in and with her strength she was able to tire the smaller fish out easily.

She got it close and saw it was small but was it good for eating. Meari turned to the crew and said, " I got one, but it is not that big, is it good for eating?"

The Crew man  gather those who caught the fish and had them stand with thier  Catch.

Tulliuns  was the Biggest with  Orria next, then Dusk and Meari's Shadow, Shade and Roy stood back  as the other  posed  with their  catches, and the   ship began to make its  way make to the  dock.

Dusk was Happy , the crew had the  fish she gave them in the  tank with Tulliun's  Orria's and Meari's were being cleaned, and wrapped.

Orria sent  a  COM Text to Zob...I caught a Fish!..it's pretty big,, the  crew guys  are cleaning and wrapping it, we can take it home in the morning  to eat!

Dusk said,That was interesting..there  was some  excitement  at brining in that fish!

Shade Bleeped  a bit.  Shade  Gave him a pat on the back.don't worry about it, Buddy..we'll hit the burger stand   on the way  to the Condo.. we should be turning in soon anyway.

Dusk turned to  Roy,we will have to do this  fishing thing again...

Shadow   watched the  crew, deflating clean and  cut the  fish, and wrapping it in sealer bags, for everyone.....well? it  seems like it was a successful outing, fish were caught, fun was had...

Roy chuckled.  "Well, you catch them and I'll coach," he answered.  "Truth be told, my favorite thing about fishing is the scenery.  I actually enjoy it more when I don't catch something...just sit back and relax."

His expression tightened a little, and he sighed.  "Not many chances to just relax, in the middle of a war..."

Enjoying the relative peace and each other’s company they would eventually reach the distant boathouse with Izzy by that point having finished her drink ”Do you want to head back now or keep going? Or would you like to do something else?” she asked without specifying what the something else was leaving it entirely up to Lizzy to decide if she wanted to do anything. However with the night rapidly going from late to early there wasn’t a lot of time left.

Tulliun beamed with pride at his catch. He was so excited to have caught such a prize, he couldn't help but smile a huge smile. But, when the other fish were brought in (or not) he did his best to not appear boastful.

Well done, everyone. he offered to the others.

I suppose this would be too much for one or two people to eat before it went bad. Tulliun rubbed a fresh scar from their recent excursion as he mulled over his decision. He then, rather abruptly, slapped his belly with his idea, flinching a bit, since he hit the fresh sore. He smiled at his own foolishness. LC, do you think this would be enough fish to feed the guards who stayed on board during shore leave? Could chef stretch it that far?

Lizzy smiled as Izzy and her walked the beach, she also finished her drink when they got to the boathouse. Lizzy thought for a second and she looked at the time and replied, " Lets head back to the group get another drink and head to the condo Izzy. It is getting late, and we only have till 8 am for recall." Lizzy gave Izzy a seductive look and grin, took her hand and headed back for the main beach and the drink stalls.

Meari got her picture taken it wasn't a big fish, but she did catch a fish. She had a lot of fun and added, " Yes we do need to do this again it was a lot of fun. Mine should be good enough for me to cook for a meal for at least a few people or more." Meari watched as the boat headed back to the dock, as she cleaned yp everything and got ready to depart. She smiled at her cousins, LC, Roy and Tulliun as they headed for the dock.

The  ship docked, there was still pleanty of  hovercar traffic in the air and on the roads. Carrier Stations do not sleep.

The  heat from the  factories  helped  keep the station warm, Van ross  authorized  pipes tha that would  , lead into the  'ground floor" of the steam, to Keep some parts of it  warner then most, for any folk who had to take shelter there.

Shaking ands  with the Captain and crew... and the Crewmen thanking   Dusk for her  gift of the   high
priced  fish,

The  Boatswain  called out, as they walked , with  Tulliun's two crates  of  packaged fish   , Orria  was  carrying a box  of filets  for  Zob and her...

I haven't  heard  anything  about replacements... looks like they'll just toss them on the  dec as  we cast off? It was plain to see  ,the LC  wasn't  real happy with the thought of more new folks  coming aboard.

Re: Matterhorn BEACH

Tulliun had only meandered a little way from the docks when he heard the sailor calling his name. He turned around, seeing the man carrying the two boxes, Oh! I'm so sorry. he grabbed the boxes from the sailor, straining a little with the boxes being a little awkward together. I'll take these to the hover cars to get them back to the Hermes. he smiled and nodded to the sailor.

He tottered his way to where the cars were going back and forth to the Hermes. He set the crates down and flagged one of the drivers. The Hanger Dec on the Hermes is expecting these, they'll know what to do with it. he lifted the boxes and carried them to the car the man belonged to, setting them down and giving them the customary pat. He fished out a couple of the paper creds from his loot last night and placed them in the hand of the driver. Thank you. he said as he watched the driver move off to the cockpit.

He realized his indecency quickly, and, with one hand fishing out some extra creds, he ran back to the dock, and gave a fistful of paper creds to the boatswain, For your crew. he smiled apologetically.

He then turned and strolled back to the line to the CONDOS, content with whatever spot he found in the queue.

Meari smiled at the crew and took her box as well. She watched Tulliun take care of his fish by sending it to the Hermes. Meari saw everyone headed back to the condo. Meari followed the others and wound up next to Tulliun as they headed for the Condo. " That was extremely fun, and you caught a great fish."

That was pretty fun. he said with a smile, I've never caught a fish that big before. And we both caught one, yours was a better size I think, honestly. since don't have a real need for the food. But, at least mine still found some good. he looked down the line for the elevators.

I think that made a good end to the night, and to all of shore leave. as if cued by the realization of the time, his body forced a big yawn out of him. Wow, I didn't realize how tired I was.

Izzy would take a moment to watch the boat heading back towards the quay before nodding her head in agreement to Lizzy’s suggestion that they head back to the condo, giggling at the suggestion of another drink ”you’re trying to get the tipsy” Izzy jokingly accused Lizzy as they started walking back towards the condo. With previous experience telling them that Izzy was rather more adventurous, not to mention amorous when she’d had a couple of drinks.

With their shore leave approaching the end Izzy would finally give voice to the obvious question ”I wonder where we’re going next? Any ideas?” she asked wondering if Lizzy had heard any rumours of where the Hermes was heading to next.

They then headed for the Condo and Lizzy replied to Izzy's question, " I am not sure I heard rumors we were going to go after the Lizards or the Bugs, but who knows where we will end up. Wherever we go we will fight and kill those Empire bastards."
