Re: Tech Lab

The  Groundscrew moved to the Tech Lab Pushing and pulling the scout craft towards the LAb. The  Doublebay doors opened and a small ramp dropped  down, the Craft was hooked to a small chain-like device  and  the winch puled it into the  pit...Great hand-like grapples cloed on the wings  and held it above the floor of the   pit..The metal colums rose  from the bowels of the ship and spread upsidedown tripod, to hold the wings , tails and the Middle of the body.

From there, the Groundscrew left, and the Tech lab folks  moved in.

Re: Tech Lab

While other techs focused on the propulsion and armament, Charlie made his way to the scout's version of a cockpit.

"Let's see..." he thought out loud, "the main system controller must be accessible from here.  Maybe I'll just try to access basic piloting controls first; once I figure that out, I can go looking for those data records ESN is so hot about getting."

He poked around as methodically as he could manage.

Re: Tech Lab

When he opened the cockpit, he fopund   alot of  wrappers stuffed in a big plastic  bag, next to it, was another  bag with  some  vaccumed packed food stuffs...there were a number of  drink containers  as well., about half empty, half still full.

The Controls were about the same as any small craft, a joystick, pedals, and  alot of Buttons, two screens

Re: Tech Lab

"Hrrrrm... likely an extended scouting mission, then."  He placed the wrappers and foodstuffs in airtight specimen containers and labeled them appropriately.

He carefully slid into the cockpit and activated the switch that, by deduction, most likely controlled main power.  "No need to start the engines or anything at this point; I just need to get the computer to wake up.  A control module, a basic operating system, something I can use to access its data..."

Re: Tech Lab

the  control panels  lit up...buttons and  toggles like any other  aircraft,  but odd runish letters on some of the Buttons, as  well as a scrolling across the bottom of the main screen.

there  seemed to be a yellow Light blinking, right above  a button that was at the base of the main screen

Re: Tech Lab

Nodding, Charlie took out his handheld and began the process of carefully recording the position and function of each button, translating the runes where possible, pressing buttons to see their effects where necessary.
The end goal was to build a pilot-ready manual for the scout ship, so that in future a properly-briefed pilot (or one with reference to a database on their handheld) could take control of the vessel if necessary.

Once he felt confident he had recorded the basic functions, he began poking around the interface, trying to bring up recordings or data, or at least determining whether any sort of removable medium (data disk, etc) could be found.
"A scout ship has to be trying to bring back data.  Assuming the hits you took didn't fry it, the data has to be somewhere..."

Re: Tech Lab

the  data is recorded, the Yellow  light  keeps blicking, however, when he pushes  the Button below the  blinking  yellow  button, it turns  blue, the screen comes on..to Charlie  suprise..the FAce of  a Wisp comes on the  screen, but the shape  and hair, it  is assumed to be a female Wisp..her eyes  narrow at Charlie's  face as she  shouts out commands in demon lanaguage, and the screeen goes blank..rewd light poip up all around the  control panel.

Re: Tech Lab

Charlie shrugged and continued looking for scout data, recordings, or any other useful information.

Re: Tech Lab

As he worked  he found  a drawer of sorts under the Pilot's  seat, after a  few moments of messing  about, the  drawer came open, there were serveral square Infomation carts.

They would fit into a slot on the  control board..but the  control board seemed to be locked...also...it seemed to be getting very hot in the cockpit.
