"Sure. I think you going is a good idea. They need someone with intell skills. If that place is like the Death Star someone has to hack in to find out where Leia, I mean her father, is kept.

But who are we gonna get to play Chewbacca?"

Appigan smiles giving a soft chuckle at the joke. Hopefully it would let out some of the tension.

Kray maybe, she said.  Though he looks more like Hans Solo.

Hearing the com from Calhoun paging Appigan....she looks to him.

Looks like you are being paged.

Appigan looks at his pager and checks his pad.

"Ah, my partner has finished stocking medical kits and first aid stores on the Stoyl assault shuttles. He's the guy that sleeps there when I'm not around."

Geoffry gestures to the other stack of bunks.

Jesse gave a casual nod.  If you hear of anything, in regards to our lil patient, let me know.  I'll leave you to your....whatever you were doing.

She turned to head towards the door and shook her head and looked at him a bit questioning.

What did you think I actually needed medical attention for?

Oh, she said looking at the door and then back to Apple.  I can see where my approach may have appeared as such.

She was just about to walk out and gave a quirky smile.  I'm a lot more careful about that type of thing.  You know space, stigma, lady of the night, and all.

"Being the barracks for the ship's only two combat medics we get alot of simple calls knocking on our door. Of course there is the medlab and the paramedics in the civilian areas but Hermes is a huge ship. Sometimes we are the closest aide station.

What ever you do for fun just keep yourself clean."

With one last friendly look and wink out of the corner of her eye at Apple, she nodded.  Absolutely.  She then left and headed to her own quarters to rest.

Appigan gives her a polite nod in return. As she leaves he looks around.

His room was a busy place tonight. He was awake now after all this. Closing and locking the door he makes his way to medlab.

Well he was but he gets paged to the mission briefing.

He's glad he got some sleep when he could. He recalls Oria commenting it was an odd time to sleep. Yeah, there was a reason... sleep when you can.

Re: Xyran's quarters

-----> From Rec Dec

Xyran took a deep breath before slowly making his way down the walkway searching for his room, upon locating it he keyed himself in and locked the door behind him, 'Its not much but it sure beats living out of a bedroll in the field' he thought to himself as he slowly released all the locks from his power armor and stripped down into his regular wear which was more akin to a hoodie then anything along with his weapon holsters to carry his sidearms in.

Xyran then shuffled around in his field backpack and pulled out the sidearms he scavenged from the last mission and laid them out of the table trying to contemplate his load out for the evening, 'Hmm ill take the Sanri blasters' he thought to himself as he set them both on safety and fastened them inside there respective holsters, the last piece was the trusted combat knife which he wore on his belt at all times.

Xyran then turned and looked in the mirror, "Ok lets do this" he said aloud, making his way for the door and locking it behind him as he exited he then made his way in the direction of the Pulse club.

-----> From The Pulse

It didn't take long for Xyran to reach his quarters upon entering he turned and locked the door and tossed his weapons on the bed and sat down in the chair by the desk, 'It never gets any easier' Xyran thought to himself as he grabbed a pen from the drawer along with a sheet of paper and began writing on it.

Current stockpile of weapons.

1. Two Sanri Blasters (New), Three human handguns (New), Occui Model Mark 2 Pulse Rifle (Custom)

Xyran then pinned the sheet to the wall with a thumb tack and made his way over to his bed and set his weapons on the desk off to the side of him before stripping off his shirt revealing the shit ton of scars upon his green body, laying down on the bed he stared up at the ceiling and sang a small tune,

Non-com quarters

From Off Duty 2

Taking the scenic route to the quarters, Lazarus quickly sorted out where he was to go and squeezed through the door in his armour. The next ten minutes or so passed unnoticed as he undid all of the buckles and clasps that held his armour on, and slid each piece off, placing them in a corner on the floor. The next thing that he needed was a shower. Fortunately, there were basic toiletries already in the cabin, although his favourite aftershave was going to have to be imported by the looks of the bottle he held. Checking the smell from the bottle, he recoiled as the smell hit him, turning the bottle to the back to check the make.

'Made by soldiers for soldiers by the looks of it. Explains the stench.'

Another twenty minutes pass, and Lazarus heads of out his room, dressed in fairly standard black clothing bearing the ESN crest in white, and his trench coat flowing out behind him as he walked. Most of his blades had been left in the room, but a set of weighted knives were fixed internally on the left, while a longer one hung sheathed from his waist.

Re: Non-com quarters

It wasn't long after that Xyran fell asleep there on the bed, his mind was never really at peace these days after the betrayal of what was essential his childhood friends five years ago on operation black moon and the aftermath of that dark day,

*Dream Sequence Start*

When the shuttle finally disappeared from view over the tree lines and eventually into orbit Xyran reached towards his com and called back for an emergency medivac, "HQ come in... this is unit 128... *Cough* my squad has defected and... I'm the only one left alive... *Cough* and seriously injured, unit 127 is KIA and i need... *Cough* immediate medivac off this planet..."

It wasn't long until Xyran heard a response back, "This is HQ, unit 128 that is a negative there is anti air in the area its to much risk sending down a rescue drop ship at this time, you will need to disable the anti air nearby before we can send down a vessel to pick you up... hunker down in a safe location and Sisha will guide you step by step on your next set of objectives HQ out" and with that the com went silent.

Xyran stripped the first aid pack from his friends body and slowly got to his feet shuffling along the field until he got towards the tree line where he planted himself down next to a bush out of site, 'If the demons spot me out here... I'm as good as dead unless i can get the drop on them' Xyran thought to himself as he opened the bag up and pulled out the bandages, some thread and a needle. Using the knife he pried the small shell from his chest and threw it aside it was a very painful experience but he couldn't yell out in pain on risk of being detected by demon patrols.

After about a half hour of *Stitching* himself up he was ready to move on towards the objective and get off of this planet... but he was still in no position to fight directly head on so stealth was the key, just them a voice came on his com, 'Unit 128 please respond...'

Xyran responded back, 'This is unit 128 what our my orders?' he asked waiting for a response. The woman on the other end responded, 'Listen the anti air is less then a click south of your position at these coordinates, kill the patrol and pop green smoke and will send down a ship to get you out'

Xyran mapped the coordinates into his heads up display and slowly made his way towards the objective the jungle brush was dense and slowing his progress to near a snails pace but still Xyran pushed on until he came up upon the patrol manning the anti air weapon the group of four demons was spread out patrolling the area with two men on the gun, it didn't take long for one of the the demons to come near his position, combat knife in hand he sprang up and knifed the demon soldier in the throat and pulled him into the brush and took his weapon, the noise drawing the other three towards Xyran's current position he raised the rifle and took aim as the small group approached and when they knelt down to investigate the blood splatter, Xyran popped them all in the head with a series of quick shots from the pulse rifle killing them outright, with his cover now blown he popped up out of the bush and tossed a grenade towards the two manning the gun frying them and the central terminal used to operate the anti air.

Xyran comed, 'Anti air is down popping smoke now' he then popped the smoke and within seconds pulse fire erupted from the tree line north of his position pinning him down behind cover, 'I am under heavy fire, need air support now!' he shouted over the com and not more then 15 seconds later over the trees came an assault shuttle spraying the tree line with heavy pulse rounds and missiles they then came in close and dropped the ramp, 'Quickly Xyran run we can't stay here!'
the female Occui woman shouted as Xyran made a mad dash towards the ramp and dove inside he then yelled to the pilot to take off and just like that Operation black moon ended as they sped out of the planets atmosphere back to the capital ship in orbit.

*Dream Sequence End*

Xyran in a cold sweat shot up from his bed and reached for his gun and took aim around the room before releasing where he was, he then set it back down on the desk and sat on the side of the bed distressed, "For once I would like to have a good nights sleep..." he said aloud as he went over to his desk to work on things for his power armor.

Re: Non-com quarters

*Several Hours later*

Xyran finally awakens after a rough sleep and notices that they were docking to Fuji station, 'Haven't seen this place in a long time... not since i was still a recruit back home' he thought to himself as he got himself dressed and armed with his blasters.

Making his way over to his desk he took a few notes of things he needed for his next project on improved energy shielding, after stashing away the notes in his pocket he then opened and locked the room door behind him as he made his way out onto Fuji station unless he was needed elsewhere.

Re: Non-com quarters

Irina was slow to stir the morning Hermes finally docked at Fuji. The cruise into port had been a busy one for the young marine. With the old saying ‘the more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war’ in mind she had thrown herself into training. Cramming as much in during the short cruise as possible.  With the memory of the wounded, and dying locals of Bura still fresh Irina had gone down to the med-bay, and enrolled in a medical course. It was only a matter of when, not if, she would need those skills again. When that time came she wanted to be well prepared. Besides that Irina had spent most of her time instead instructing others. She started by hand selected a small group to become trainers, with the intention of getting them fully qualified in demolition. The short journey to Fuji though only left her time for a crash course in how to spot, avoid, and even disarm explosive traps. She had started with classroom training, and then ever more difficult hands on exercises. Ultimately Irina had arranged for a massive final exercise on the rec deck during the late hours of the night when it would disrupt ship board operations the least. She had personnel gone through, and trapped the rec deck with flashy, but otherwise harmless, charges. On top of that she had taken a dozen volunteers, and scattered them across the deck with plastic training weapons. Irina had set her students loose with the single goal to clear the deck of hazards for other troops. Despite a small incident with a charge, and a now ruined table everything had gone well. The students had made a few mistakes, but that was to be expected. More importantly they did a few things that surprised even Irina, and in the end both sides had learned a few lessons. While certainly not yet masters Irina was pleased with their progress. She went to bed in the wee hours of the morning confident that on the outbound leg they would be able to help train the bulk of the boots on board.

When Irina did final crawl out of bed she found a message from Hunter waiting on her comm unit. ‘Ugh. Just waking up. Going to hit the gym, and mess before I head over to the station. No real plans yet.’ She replied as she changed into her workout clothes. Irina also made a note to check up on Koos, and see what he was doing today. It was her intention to make the best of her time on Fugi. Once they left port She would be busy with training again. After that there was another invasion. Irina pushed that line of thinking out of her mind as she made her way towards the gym.

Hunter heads back to quarters and stores his few bits of civilian gear, showers and changes back to his uniform.
Ahhh better he thinks, I really do not belong in civilian gear these days.

Hunter then calls up Sgt major Spencer's office and leaves a message Identifying him self, and requesting a meeting with in 24 hours.
he sighs he is aware he is still likely to get a roasting for what has just happened.
Twice in 48 hours is getting careless, Hunter grinds his teeth
Yish he should have checked before he rushed to a friends aid.
And as for trying to act the hero yea gods what the hell were you thinking of Hunter.

Hunter checks out the nearest Do-jo / gym on board, he really needs to work of this food and get combat fit.
Checking mail he sees that a package has arrived for him
grin oh please let it be what he is expecting
Hunter heads down to the hanger deck and signs for the package.
Then returns to his quarters and stores the Rail assault rifle.
Locking the cabinet, he buts on his combat webbing with his knife and pistol with spare mags and heads down the do-jo with his sword.
And finds a quiet corner to start to run through sword and Martial art kata's

Re: Non-com quarters

[[Day of the return to duty]]

He was glad to finally have his own, well, not his own but he had not seen anyone assigned to join him in the room.  He walked around the place, noting a place to set down the meditation mat and another for putting his files.  He set the duffle on his bed, the bag rattled with his equipment.  The only thing it was missing was a show and head.  He checked the closet to make sure they were not included.  The room was done in a solid grey with little white here and there marking important panels and junctures.  He had no window, but the light from the strip LEDs was reflected and soft so it gave the room a homey feel.

The bed was soft enough, better than the one at the hotel.  His time off was more bothersome then productive.  He felt like he did not get enough focus, he preferred to have the quiet solitude of the ship compared to the big city, but then he was never a fan of the cities.  He started to unpack, pulling his gear from his duffle and setting it up in his room.  He enjoyed the workout he had with the two other non-coms, and was able to teach them a few things.  He took out his own gun, checking the pistol, a single action revolver with rounds big enough to stop a rino, a gift from a friend when he got his call.  He was told it could be used on the demons, but he had yet to try it.  He doubted a conventional weapon would be any good, but then, it felt good to have it.  He tossed it to his bed.

The door was left open just to make sure check in was heard.  He had checked in at the dock when he came on board.  He did not know if his superiors would be coming around to meet the troops.  He knew the drill most the time, needed to get the unit together, get them working together and cohesive, but then, perhaps they just did not expect people to live that long.  He started putting the clothing away in the closet.  Dropping the boots at the bottom of the closet, always kept a spare set.

Lastly he took out the meditation mat and the small incense burner.  He set them in the corner of the room, across from the desk at the foot of the bed.  He sat down and could feel the vibration of the engines and nodded, it would help his move into the zen sort of state he needed to focus his mind.  He wondered if he could reach the vision he reached the other day.  He had sent a notification to his old CO of the vision just in case he needed to file the information.  There was not much to tell, ships in a nebula, and one very big one, he could not get stars to see where the gas cloud would be so there was not much he could say.  About the only thing he was surprised at was the response of the demon.  He did not know what the true ability of the Demon were when it came to psy.  Were the humans being watched at all times by demon seers?

He stood, pushing the thought back and rolled up his duffle and stuffed it into the back of his closet.  He went to his data-pad and pulled up his orders, checking who his direct supervising officer was.

 Baring burdens, dark and deep
 I've a will and I've a wanting

If you ride with me this night
From the north, came a warrior
 Baring burdens, dark and deep

Re: Non-com quarters

Sitting on his bed, he picked up the small lock box holding the concentrated Angel’s food.  He set it next to the gun on his bed and looked around.  He picked up the data pad from the desk, leaning back.  He started to read, he needed something to keep his mind occupied.  He had no duties or job to do, not until they contacted the enemy.

He looked at the pad, he did not have any messages from his commanding officer, he did not even know who he was assigned to.  It was all up to the Captain and his wife, at any rate, he got on board just to wait.

He flipped the data pad to his copy of Meditations on the First Philosophy, he could not say he was a Descartes fan, but the man had some strong points.

Jesse carried the bag and items to her newly renovated quarters.  She gave a quick once over, but was glad that she had a space to herself.  Tossing the bag on a flat surface, she began undressing herself to shower, letting the COM unit rest near the shower.

She'd shower and then see if she couldn't contact Beth regarding the hack computers and what options and benefits or downfalls they had to them.

COM to Beth:  I'm sure you are busy, but, have you had a chance to take a look at what MSGT Spencer and I had brought aboard?

Awaiting a response, she sat up and put her wet hair back into a pony tail as she slipped on sturdier boots.

Re: Non-com quarters

He checked his com, still no call to roll, he was starting to wonder when the ship would get under way.  Justice turned back to his book and shrugged.  He was sure they would call him when they needed him.  Until then he had no assignment, no duties, not even a duty station.

He hit the data pad and turned on some music, a string quartet, something to cool his mind.  He had an itching in the back of his head, like something was trying to burrow in, it was like the feeling he left the water on someplace, like something just wasn’t right.

He paused his reading and looked around the room.  His eyes drifted to his meditation pad and he shook his head.  Best not to go into a trance now, they might call him.  He could not shake the feeling something was wrong, and he had started to trust his feelings.

He got up and walked to the door.  He opened it and stepped across the corridor to the door on the opposite side and knocked.  Perhaps someone who knew the ship better would know the regular procedure.
