Mortica, Roll, Viktor, and Gregor were walking the Proving Grounds and taking in the sights of the new tech the Hermes fleet was looking at. She was particularly interested in the new weaponry and had tried some of the wares on display. Some was...impractical for her purposes but there were some items she rather hoped the ESN decided to purchase.

When two of the Widows failed spectacularly she shook her head. "Nice looking fighter but if that's how it performs here I'm left wondering how much testing they truly did on it."

Viktor had been paying attention to the fighters on display and demonstrated. The Mantis seemed like a good model, but he was quite content with the Wraith. He would have to see about getting a couple more brought aboard the Hermes in case anything happened to his. “A seemingly efficient fighter, but it does not have that...certain quality that a Wraith does. Perhaps I am set in my ways after so many centuries. If I were to use a new model I’d likely need to spend time in the simulator.”

That reminded him of something and he looked to Mortica, speaking quietly while Roll was distracted looking at another vehicle, “Do you think you could arrange for Roll and I to get some time on the Hermes’ simulator? Roll has a keen instinct for flying and excellent hand eye coordination.

"I can always ask. It would be much easier if you were in APF colours. Things have been so busy you haven't had the chance to talk with the Admiral and make your oath but I will ask him. They're warming up to me more and more. Commander Si even made what might be interpreted as a joke a few days ago," she said with a smile.

Zob noticed Viktor and Mortica he waved to them, "About time you folks showed up, glad you made it!" he said out loud to them.

Mortica waved back. "We've been here looking at the displays and feeding two perpetually bottomless stomachs. Found anything good us shooting types might really like?"

Zob shook his head he wasn't very impressed with the weapons that were on display except maybe the splash grenade, "Honestly no... the wares being offered are very lack luster and not very practical... been meaning to ask what did you do with that demon heavy pulse gun that almost killed you back on Etna?"

She took the drink he offered. Relaxing a bit watch the Widow and such.  "True.  I think I insulted him though.  Look Stolys still chewing his leg.  surprised they let me test it after yest....forget I said any thing" she lightly slapped her cheek.  "Trying to hover in that rattletrap sucked too.  too much work involved for it.  did like the idea of the bar on the foreward windshield.  Could have used that on Aqra"

Justin nodded That's great to hear. Have you sent word to production to tripple check the ROM's components & functions. It won't be good if there's anything that could mess up the trials, especially with the fate of the Company on the line. Like they have he points towards the Widows.

 Roll noticed he was the olny kid there..even Jax and Sneak weren't there... the  explosions   and   Socni  Booms, at ocne...frightened  him..and Made him Look  for More.

 Gregor..didn't  like it   at all..he  huddled  into a Ball his eyes  picking out.

 Roll Noticedd there was   some animals    doing things ,a way from the Gunnery range

  Flores  was   playing CAt and Mouse  with Abby... she made soem damn Nice moves, But Flores  as Been around the  Quads  more then once..

 Higher   Up the Fellow   that  Shadow  was Making  fight him in the  Widows,  was  Diving to the  East.. Show   Rolled   over, and   then Corkscrewed Upwards.. his Widow  screeching  in protest.. only  a few  feet  above  the  HAnders.. His weapon    Forced Once.. and the TAg Hit the 'Cred Pilot.. a streamer of  blue  smoke showed he was 'hit'..

 ..2 More  Cred King...and All you have to Do is    tag me Once...

 The Hopefull      did  a predictable    Inverted  Loop  and   tried to Hit  Shadow  who Dove r  for the  Ground.. two of the  landing   struts   snapped  of  as they hit the   dirt,  Flying off    liie pinwheels... The  rookie   checking out of the dive to the deck  and  when he  Pulled Up... Shadow followed  Pumping another    tag Into his Belly... two streamers of  Blue  showed now...

 ..That's it?.. Next tag  wins.....keep in mind..if this was  reak combat.. you'd have been dead  twice...

 Shade  watched the  two widows, looking  for Vapor or  Hot spots.. the Proctor  was    angry,..what the 9 hells is the  use, of having a hard deck..if  every one ignores it..

 The  Rookie   Tried  to  wingover   and   Come  down  behind Shadow...  Shadow   Punched  his thruters  and   Did  a left turn, even through a right  truns  was recommended by Tactics  101


  Two   loud Cracks were Heard... the Rookies ports  Side  wind  snapped off,   flying over the  crowd  into the parkign area  for APVs.. The  Pilto     turned his   aircraft.'aiming his POD towards the Left  and   fires  out towards Garrat's  area  again...

   Shadow's   starboard  wing  snapped  Off    Falling towards the     plain  like  an Oak seed.

 Shade  was   Bleeping  and  screeching Loud... Morris and Rivets were Yelling   POD  OUT!...  HAck and Si  ran around the Hanger to look   Out Over the    at Shadow s   aircraft  as  it got Into a Flat spin..

  Koffels  was  smiling....

  ..Can't POD  Out!... the   Tigger  pulls is   broken?...   I think we might need  Med techs  for this one!

      Shadow  was hitting thrusters        the craft  would straighten out  then  pivot  again, but he   Kept taking it  further off  to the southwest..

 ..I....Seee...Trees... Heading ..for..them...

  inwardly  Shadow  was thinking 100 mile s a minute..thrust her.. flap there,     tried to   bring the   wing  up to  shop the spin... Then the   he  Just  pointed the B Nose  down   , the    Widow   doing an very ugly version of the Shadow  Screw   until it hit the   trees. ,   Trucks  and Limbs   Flew  off in  many directions...

  Hack ran  towards  an APV that was on it way out  and Jumped on the   outside Grips...

 Kofel  turned  to    get a drink from   a    tub of ice near the  fences..he had a satisfied   smile, as he dropped  something in the dirt.

"It's checked in with the QM on Hermes if I have need of it. Are you interested in it?" She asked as she scratched Gregor and tried to keep him calm.

"What in the Hells? One of the test pilots just crashed!"

Teela jumped into the air and spread her wings, rapidly hitting 150kph as she flew towards the place where the LC had gone down. She had her two mono-molecular edged daggers out in case she needed to cut him out of the craft's wreckage.

   They frowned at that  airshow ...I'm  glad  we  can't test these here... to much hands  in the pot!.... we  run tries  with teh  Academy here.. lots of pilots got to  be  picked up..sometimes they have to practice POD outs... sometimes.. they do somethign stupid.. that were  we got the Magnalocks..... the rumors  say..if they catch on.. there might  be  retrieval ships , mad  for  , just that purpose...they'll be able to   fire up to 4 ROMs  at a time..with 8 on board... then recover them...there is someone lookign down the line  for  on ship  controllers, that  after they get in range  can Guide the   things  back with the  Pod... Don;t know who would want to   nbe assigned that kind of ship though!

Kira who had been watching the event unfold watched as Hack made his way over to the APV and took off after him moving fast she grabbed onto the other grips, "Driver we need to get to him now!" she yelled to the driver.

Zob was about to say something to Mortica but saw the events unfold and stood up quickly when he saw Shadow was in trouble, "Melia will talk later, your skills are needed double time it!" Zob then glanced over and saw Kofel drop something in the dirt and he had a smile on his face?

Zob moved quickly over to where Kofel was standing he had purpose in his eyes, "Hey you stop right there!" he shouted.

  Teh Proctor called  On the LT , at  Garrat's sight,..alright folks?  Got  two more  down.. those Widows    aren't   word the paint they put on them.....  there  shoudl be a Pod out your  way... if you find the wreck and its burning, put it oout.. the other one  went South west... we have people headed  that way.

 Shade     was  fussing  and trying to  run,, Morris  was  trying..desperstly to Hold him..Rivets  tries to Calm him, Relax   Lad.. the   Winged Angel and    The Admiral  are headed out that way... By the  time  ya get that far  down range, they'll be on thier  way back.


 Shade  was  frustrated..he was     Bleeping  and  grinding  and  flay out Blaring.. but no one new  a damn thing   as to what he was saying.

 Koffel   Just    took a few feet towards, what was left of  his 'airshow.. 2 Widows, waiting for Pilots..

 He Looked at Zob  and took a  cold  drink,..Vat  es Los?   You do not look  like der Pilot...

The look in Zob's eyes were intense he felt this man deliberately tried to kill his friend when he approached he sent a fast hard right hook into Koffel's jaw not caring how bad it hurt him, "You think its funny trying to hurt my friend you son of a bitch!" he then began to beat the shit out of him as he grew more and more angry with each punch and kick he made sure though not to kill him only hurt him.

Mortica grabbed Zob and pulled him off of the man. “Zob, stop! We can’t question him if you kill him. I have a far more effective means of getting answers from him.”

  Three Fuji  SEC  guys  came over  to   to  Grab   Zob.. one of them   was Yelling,stand  Down  Sir.. or  we'll have to  tag you!

 Koffels  took a Beating...  until   another  two  FUJI SEC came Over..one an LT.....STAND DOWN!.... MED TECH!!!!

With 4 people currently detaining him he was in no position to continue his assault he did however spit at the ground, "Serves you right you piece of shit!" Zob snarled he was furious and after 4 constant disasters with the Widow he felt it was an attempt to hurt the crew one of them being his closest friend Shadow.

Zob then motioned for Mortica to check the spot where Koffel tossed something in the dirt curious as to what it was even if it was nothing he was satisfied with the ass beating he gave Koffel.

She went over to the indicated area and looked to see what Zob had seen.

  looking around on the ground , it was  hard to see what he might have  dropped..  Bottle   caps, Pop tabs, Bits  and pieces  of   Metal  and  thousands of  marble sized   stones.

  a PG   Ned Tech   Came Over   as  Koffels  was  trying to talk..demanding  that Fuji Sec  shoot the Demon..

 a Cold  hard  , yet musical Voice  flatly stated,...This is  an Hernes  Crewman.... now...  Tell Me. SGT Zobaich… what caused  you attack this...this..person...Other them being a very bad producer of Aircraft...

Mortica continued to look with all the patience an immortal predator possessed. If Zob had seen something then by God there was something there to be found.

Zob calmed down even though he had no hard evidence to prove anything he still spoke truly, "After the crash of the two Widows, i saw him walking away with a smile on his face when LC Shadow's bird went down and tossing a device into the dirt over there, (Zob points to the spot the object was discarded at) i have reason to believe this man means to do the Hermes crew harm by intentionally sabotaging his planes, its just to convenient to be a accident that the LC's plane or the other one for that matter couldn't Pod out!"

As soon as things went wrong Melia was sprinting for an APV, this was what she trained for, and Orria would never forgive her if something happened to Shadow or Shade, much would she forgive her self for not trying to save Shadow. Reaching the APV she grabbed a trooper filling one of the spots who didnt need to be there. "This is your stop buddy." she says taking his place on the APV, once aboard she pulls her medic bag out and slings it over her shoulder. Her carbine gets a mag rammed in it and she charges it clambering a round and holding on.

Mortica slipped on a pair of gloves and picked up the device which she held in her hand as she walked over to Koffel's. "If we check this for DNA and fingerprints what shall we find, hmm? If we test it I wonder what we shall learn from it. You may not want to talk to now but, I assure you, I can be very convincing."

She put the item in an evidence bag she pulled from another pouch on her belt.
