Re: SPACE 2

Sarah nods in understanding, a short time later she receives the call from Shadow. She sends her affirmations to the battle plans, and then closes the link once Shadow moves on. Pulling up links to her various section leaders, detailing exactly how she wants her fighters and SEC deployed throughout the ship to avoid boarders. The Ironwood's shuttle is pushed to the back of the hanger area and the fighters moved for easy exit.

Garrat catches up with Bo after dropping off his data pads with Beth so she can take the info off and return them. "Do you need a catcher?"

Re: SPACE 2

When Garrat came up Bo raised an eyebrow at him:  "I'm not sure what you mean by catcher but I could use you to bring the pods in." If Garrat agrees, Bo Fires up the shuttle and eases through the static field.  "Alright."  He says popping in a music chip. "Let's get the tunes going.  Something a little more contemporary than my usual choice..."
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyyNMjUELak

Bo moved fluidly in an out of the wreckage and debris.  While the music was blaring and his shoulders were relaxed his eyes were darting from screen to screen and out the canopy plotting the trajectories of space junk and firing the engines in the little bursts needed to make a big clumsy vessel move with grace.  Safety first.  Mission second.

Without the equipment used by the tenders to find downed pilots,  Bo was at a great disadvantage.  almost all of the pods were picked up or destroyed and any remaining were like needles in the haystack.  One however seem tucked away almost on purpose.  It's complete lack of an energy signal made it invisible to scanners, but not to the light sensitive eyes of a Porcine.

"Boys," He says into the com, "it looks like we have a pod from a doggy capitol ship.  Should we pick it up or splatter it?"

The outside of the Pod has the Hyrian symbol. There is a Number on the side, and the  front part of the   bod is scorched , from fire.

There was a light on top that was hit, whether it was debris, or fire? who could tell.

There  door was on the  portside of the  Pod.

Garrat ropes it up to the ramp.  Is there a way too open the door from the outside? are there any windows?

Re: SPACE 2

as the Pod  is Brought in, it takes up a  good  bit of the  hold. there is only about  a foot left, the whole way around  the  hold.

there is  a small window in the  fronts and  two little square , portholes one on each side.

This is an escape Pod, so the door can be opened from the Outside..unless it is  locked on the inside, then , the standard 'blow' button is off to the  left side of the door, it will fire the door off  with small charges.

ESN  Pods  are built the same way.

As his comment was made over an open frequency Garrat has to assume that since no one from the Hermes commented, they weren't going to.

He dawns his combat helmet and looks in the windows.

The windows , are like most... they are heavy tinted, and can't be   looked into, unless  the light is  on from the  inside...

Bo is recieveing  at  very weak becon from a smaller  Pod, it seems to be  a few miles  away..there  are bits  and Pieces of scrap between    his shuttle and the  new signal.

Re: SPACE 2

The second Pod Is an Earth transponder...but the  sig is different  from ERSN, EDT or even EMS.

from the Bits of  debris in this  area, it looks  like it may have been a smaller  freighter.. normally used  for  express runs. Hard to really tell.

The Pod is drifting, the  very weak beacon,  and the  very dim light shows it's been out there for a while.

Garrat sighs "Yeah, good point." he ties off the dog-pod and kicks out the door then brings in the human pod.  He opens it, guns at the ready just in case.

Re: SPACE 2

She stands over a human, blood dripping down her white side, feet planted so her body guards the human. Her teeth draw back from sharp canines and a low growl issues from deep in her throat.

"Grrrrrr Rrrrrrrrr!" Intense blue eyes, full of intelligence gazes up at him. Her pure white coat is mussed with lubricates and dried blood. Her lip curls on one side as she stares into Garrats eyes. "Rrrrrrrr!"

She tries to shift her weight but her leg gives out and she staggers nearly landing on the bloodied and severely battered man. She briefly takes her eyes off the man with the gun and runs her nose anxiously across the man she guards, whimpering slightly, nudging with her nose then dragging a paw across his shoulder gently as if to wake him up.

"Yip Yip!" Looks back up at Garrat then back down to her companion, up at Garrat then down at the man.

If Garrat does nothing, she tries to drag the man toward Garrat and the door, gently slipping her sharp canines onto the mans good shoulder, bracing her trembling legs to pull him closer to the door.

As she moves, it can be seen that she has a harness pack around her chest and back, bulging with papers and gear and supplies. A high tech collar around her neck had a brass plate with MILA carved into it.

Behind them, there is a safety seat, bent and warped out of shape, with blood upon it. Strapped behind but also battered is a specialized mini-pod, busted with the door sprang open, and safety harness that looked well chewed rather than cut or torn. Padding stuck out from the edges, showing it was thickly padded as if it were used to carry rather expensive or fragile cargo.

In reply to Mila (msg # 999):

"Whoa."  Garrat immediately puts down his gun. "This is unexpected." he says quietly. He knows paying too much attention to the canine will make her nervous having dealt with wolf like creatures before.  He moves forward, confident but making no sudden gestures, like an alpha caring for a packmate.  He removes the med kit from his belt and turns on his whisper mike. "We have an injured human with a white canine companion here. I'm checking to see if the human is alive. Could someone bring me my carry on bag.  The canine is weak and needs food."

Re: SPACE 2

She stumbles forward as Garrat moves to reach her Human, eyes full of worry. She pokes him hard with her nose, to show she could bite if she chooses to! She backs up a step watching anxiously, looking from Garrat to her Human. Her human needs help, now!

She whines softly, eye brows going up and down from side to side, left, right, left. She reaches down and sniffs her human companion again, especially the back of his head behind his ear where blood flows in a sticky mess. It still bleeds there but slowly, oozing thickly.

She dances from foot to foot and gives another sharp imperative "YIP!"

Re: SPACE 2

Garrat understands her, but the alpha way is to be confident enough to ignore the threat.  Still animals are much better at reading body language, and humans cannot lie with it.  She knows he's aware of her actions just as she knows she can't bite through the heavy armor.  She also knows he's posturing but that he truly wants to help her companion.

"Well, that's a good sign."  He says aware of her showing him the wound and immediatly applying pressure to it. "It's hard to bleed when your dead."

She may not understand his words but she will understand his intent, and more importantly that he is communicating with her as part of his group. His cyber arm isn't as clumsy when in gear so he uses it to pat the man down, check his vitals.  What does he find?

As non of the gunners were doing the job, Bo grabs the bag. "Oof, what do you have in here?  Rocks?"  He opens it up pulls and blanches a bit when he sees what Garrat really has in there.   Bo then rumages around for a ration and pulls out a ration.  Cracking it open he finds....Pork chops.  "Great."  Bo says with eloquent sarcasm  "You feed her, I don't want any misunderstandings."

In reply to Bo-Jagger (msg # 1003):

She watches Bo carefully as he gets a big bag and rummages around inside it. When she smells the food he opens her mouth waters, her ears twitch, and she ducks her head almost eagerly in anticipation. But she doesn't react in any other way toward the food.

She turns her head and carefully watches Garrat wrapping dressings around her Human, checking him over for other wounds, searching his clothes. She gives a brief "HUFF!" and a slight growl at the searching of clothing, giving Garrat a "look".

"Hurrehmee" She whines softly and touches the human with her nose, against his face.

She stands and shifts from foot to foot suddenly even more anxious than before. Her ears flatten back and she looks imploringly at both men then back to her human. She staggers toward the door of the pod and looks back at them over her shoulder.

Her own safety harnessed pack across her back says "Property of Oxford University; Jeremy England Eschenmoser"

"Thanks Bo, he doesn't seem to have any heavy injuries so I'll carry him out of here and kick the pod loose.  My helm cam got a good look at the inside but if you want to look around the inside of the pod for anything we might need to know, go for it."

He looks at the canine.  "But first, toss me those rations."  Garrat catches them, tears the package open and drops the three boneless porkchops in front of the animal.

He picks the doctor up and lays him on the shuttle deck.

She looks at the chops, looks at the man picking up her human companion and the other one, then gingerly picks up a chop and carries it out into their ship and drops it on the floor as she watches them carry him out of the damaged pod. She collapses behind the chop with a sigh. She turns and licks at the blood on her white hair then lays her head down on her paws, chop still between her front feet.

Aye aye sir."  Bo says dryly, but chacks inside the pod anyway before returning to the cockpit.   He looks oddly at the Wolf like dog.  Is that normal?  All the domestic predators I've ever seen would have had all three chops eaten by now."  Bo shrugs and returns to the controls. "Better reel the dogs in.  We need to get this fellow to mad bay ASAP."

with a quick check, Bo doesn't find  anything of  real interest., a Battered Chew toy of a demon ( from the Captain Lighting Cartoons) is in the  doggie's pod.

The  human has  suffered some injuries , he  looks   around  with darting eyes before they close again.
