FUCK sorry. I leave for work and battle happens. Posting today when I get home. I haven't had internet out on the ocean the past few trips... Think I need a better service plan. We go out 4 days at a time for shrimp, so that's a long time to miss. Sorry guys.

Don't worry about it this time, Silver. It's been slow going as I've been trying to get the 2 new players introduced to the game. Now that they're "here", things will pick up now.

Heading out this afternoon. Might have internet access tonight, and or tomorrow morning, so if we get into another round by then, I could probably make another post. Otherwise it might be Saturday before I get back into cell range.

heeeey I'm back a day late. We stayed out a day longer than we thought, cause the fishing was good and they changed our delivery date. So I'll get to posting here in about an hour, when I get home.

I apologize for not being on much this week - the baby has had a fussy week... I've only gotten about 3 hours of sleep last night and maybe 5 the night before... And it wasn't that much better the few nights before that...

OK. The old group watched Piebald and Lennox disappear into the ruins, then they get the OK to move on in when Piebald and Lennox waved the group in. Now that they are in, the group quickly figures out that the enemy is engaged in a fight with Stirges.

Nothing to report as yet... Will post as soon as there is :)

Just to make sure - are only Lennox and Piebald there discussing this? Or can the rest of us hear them?

Yes, if everyone looks at the map North-East Corner, past the double doors, there is a room to the North (Father Bache) and 2 rooms to the South of that (Commander Baal) The footmen took the main room. That's where Lennox and Piebald also slept.

My friend and I build Demolition Derby cars and a promoter for the Del Mar fairgrounds in Del Mar California hired my friend to make cars for the locals by July 4th Weekend. My intent was to get the drop on whatever cult targets we can find...using the remaining stirges as tacit allies...unless there a freakin' storm of stirges.

I just want to point out that the squares on the picture are not part of the grid for movement, so Myarra, I'll be putting you at location S-31 instead of your original location. And for spells, please review you Ranges and go by my grid.

For the record **I** agree with Myarra on healing up and getting as much information out of Hanns as possible.

Lennox however... He's a man of action, and he's got an obsession with dragons. He's secretly worried Culver will enslave the dragon that he warned everyone about (whom he respects, and kind of liked), and countless others.

No worries.  When it comes to hot-heads, Myarra's picture is in the dictionary next to the entry.

She also has absolutely no love of dragons.  They've been the bane of her existence since she arrived in this miserable forest.

Piebald and the mercenary dragon were the closest things Nox had to friends while under cover, and the only sources of intelligent conversation that he could stomach!

Yeah, they come for completely different worlds.  But apparently neither one of them likes to back down from a fight. :)

Frankly, she doesn't really know what she is either, race-wise.  That there's fiend blood in there somewhere is about the only thing everyone can agree on.

All she's told anybody about her history is that she was born and raised in the Underdark, then adopted by a barbarian tribe in the Anauroch, then became a (rather unsuccessful) bandit in the Dalelands, and was then recruited by Mystra and sent here.

That was Nox's guess, and why he greeted her thusly... But now she's got him thinking that maybe she's more abyssal than infernal ;-)

You'd never know to look at him, at least not without a CLOSE inspection of his teeth or eyes (or magic, I suppose magic might have ways), but Nox has a smidge of fiend in him too!

Meh. Culver could literally just be on the run, as he appears. He's the sort of guy who would grab what he came for and bolt by whatever means looked the safest/quickest. It's not like we're porting to his home base... mind you (especially since they'd only just gotten access to the library at all AFTER Nox and Piebald was dispatched out and met the party).

Now, the longer he has over there uninterrupted he could be laying a trap if he finds himself cornered or suddenly feeling confident (ie found a dragon in range)... :-P

Well, it could be his home base. We don't really know.

And true, the more time we give him, the more time he has to prepare. But as he might already be prepared...

Unless you're really familiar with your computer and how it all works, you should get some help while installing Windows 10. It took me 2 days to get back on the internet because 10 shut off my Wi-Fi and I couldn't figure out how to turn it on for the life of me!! I ended up going out and buying and Ethernet cable and stringing it up manually and then Internet was fine. So far, Windows 10 is a big pile of poop.

I still miss my windows XP that was the last time they had a really good stable operating system... Part of the problem with their newer ones and Windows 10 specifically is they are trying to make one all encompassing system that works for everything which unfortunately was a dumb idea. Even worse they decided touch screen should be the primary version and tried to change it to work with everything else from there...

OK, for the New players, please refer to Game Map for Group 4 to see the complex you're currently in. The section with the rubble in the top left corner of the map has been cleared with a stairway going down to the library, which is where the group currently is.

Lennox and Piebald slept in the room to the East past the stone Double Doors.

Baal slept to the North in the room above that, with Bache in the Southern rooms with Culver...when he showed up. The Trolls just wandered around.

Looking for valuables will take maybe 30 minutes, but if you want to explore the rest of the complex for possible treasures left behind by the Lizardmen, that will take a couple hours. Looking for secret doors will probably take days...if they're even there.

At least my thought is to search where we knew / believed Baal, Bache, and Culver slept. I expect that anything of significant value the lizardfolk left behind would mostly have been scavenged by them, so have no interest in searching the rest of the compound. It may be worth it to look for secret compartments in their rooms if we do not find anything of value there, but that's a bridge to be crossed if necessary.

I feel a great disturbance in the force.  Myarra agrees totally with Amara :)

Agreed. Nox is intent on ANYTHING Culver might have left so he's headed there.

Then Lennox can point out which rooms are whose, if he wants.

Do we need anyone to stay in the library.  Aliana, a former librarian, would certainly volunteer to stay behind if the research can't wait, though if everyone is needed to investigate the front she'd help out there.

You and Piebald came to this old library and have no clue where she went. You know there are several little outposts all over the Forest and now you know the Cult is looking for artifacts. You don't know where these Outposts are located, though....

For the new players that haven't been to Daak, please read the thread that I linked in my current message about Section 2. That will give some details about the small farming village and the Wizard tower. Veteran players will also add in detail about the place to help you out.

We can hang out at the tower for bit if people need to re-equip or heal up or whatever.

Is it safe to guess (it seems so from what you've been telling us) that the network is not being currently used by innocent travelers?  I'd hate to get anyone clobbered by an iron golem by accident.

I never said anything of the sort! LOL In a couple descriptions, I mentioned that nobody has used a certain way-stone in a long time. Other than that, none of you have any clue if the Way-stone transporters are being used by anyone else.

Myarra will spend the day out in the town, helping out where she can.  Eating, bathing, and talking are all good things, but she likes to keep busy.  If anyone wishes to help out as well, talking is still an option.

Like Myarra, Kali will spend her day out of the tower. Maybe go to the town, show and introduce anyone to Raieylan, etc

So, what is the party going to do now? Talk is cheap, but fun to read....

That depends on Lennox.  If he's going to play with the orb, we'll probably have to hang around town until he wakes up again.

If not (or if he gets lucky with the orb) we should head out to the next place on our list and see what's there and if we should kill it.

I'm talking with Kalur, who is having some RL issues and is also having some trouble following the path of the game.

I know it's kinda hard to follow what is happening on a game that has been around for a couple years, but I'm hoping he'll stay. :)

Goodness knows RL gets us all from time to time.  And, if it helps, those of us that have been around since the beginning sometime have trouble following BB's plotlines.  They're complicated and complex, which makes them fun but, yes, confusing at times.

The key is to ask questions.  You may be asking the same question everyone else is thinking, but too embarrassed to ask about.  And there's no limit (space or time-wise) to the room available in the OOC thread.

Once we finish playing with this orb and get back out into the woods, hopefully things will get a bit more straight forward.

Confusing is not the word for it. I've stared at his maps several times trying to figure stuff out, but once I figured out his patterns, it was much better. Don't be afraid to ask questions. He answers everything and no question is stupid.

By all means ask any questions you need an answer for. Use OOC thread or a PM.

I try my best with my maps and pictures, but I must admit that I have a bunch of information that might get confusing, so please ask away if you all have any problems understanding anything.

That is a great part of why I am enjoying this game.  It makes you think.  Another great part of why I am enjoying this game is everyone who is playing along with me.  I'm enjoying the roleplay.  Now I may from time to time imagine your character's comments and actions a little different from the way you intended them to be taken, but all in all it is a lot of fun.

What are the rest of you going to be doing? You have 2 people out who would like to post again.....

Anybody know of a good place to upload pictures? I use Photobucket, but I'm not liking them much anymore. I used to be able to get links for my pictures here and the picture would just show up, but that's not the case anymore. It just shows the links instead and I've tried all the links PB provided. OK, for the new folks, please refer to message #2 Basement. It's a horrible Paint drawing by me. In that map on location 3, Portal room. These portals are made right into the walls of the basement. The portal to the left leads to the old tower ruins in the forest and the portal to the right leads to Lyran's Hold.

Now that you have looked at that map and hopefully understand it, the Wizard Tower ruins and Lyran's Hold are near Way-point locations 10 and 11 on Game Map T.

Greeting everyone, I'll be playing Khayyim, a cleric of Kelemvor.

Kallyan here (also known as Kali), prior to your arrival, newest to the group and a young Druid.

Her companion is Raieylan, a large male black panther.

Twiggy only has one level in cleric and is doing a 3 to 1 ratio. Mainly the cleric is to suppliment his thieving abilities :)  I always liked groups with more healers than not.

I am just curious what is the normal posting rate?  I know that is a loose question but was wondering if you all do 1/day or a weekly number. Thanks.

The posting rate varies depending on what's going on and who has something to say. I personally try to post at least once per day, but there are times where we're waiting on someone else and several days may go by.

What we have is basically a group composed of multiple waves of players.  Five or six join, one or two remain after a couple of months.  Add next batch and repeat.

Nolan and I are the survivors from when the game began, Aliana and Amara joined next, then Byron and Lennox, then Kallyan, and now the three of you.

Ok. I also like the 1 a day posting but try to not post until everyone has.  I understand about the games waxing and wayning, that is why I am here since my other games seem to be petering out.

Nox... Recently exposed undercover spy in the ranks of the Cult of the Dragon, obsessed with locating Culver and retrieving the stolen dragon orb. Fascinated by magic, especially in applications of blending steel and sorcery (Duskblade class). The whole teamwork thing is new, especially since his only friend vanished shortly after meeting up with this lot. He doesn't hold much with rules/order/laws/tyranny. Free thinker.
