Amara felt confident that the rest of the party could deal with the last remaining apparent enemy. And while she was concerned regarding how much Lorrik would really listen to a hummingbird willingly, she knew that Flicka was well aware that she had a long, pointy bill and that humans didn't like long, pointy bills jabbed into ears or noses, so was fairly confident Flicka would be able to at least divert him from immediate danger.

So instead she surveyed the area again for any enemies, prepared to cast Faerie Fire upon any that she spotted to allow her allies to see them as well.

With the Treant on fire, Nolan could see the large plant creature and he also saw Kalliyan on the ground and knew it must be tough for her. It did seem that the tree might have been controlled somehow with the look of its eyes and the changing attitude and Nolan thought it strange that an odd assortment of creatures would band together to come after the party. Turning to see Lennox being eaten by the large plant creature, Nolan cast a Magic Missile spell on it.

Sister Aliana cast her final Searing Light spell, but it was a bit of a dud.

Still crying, she levelled her gaze at the shambler, and with anger and hatred in her eyes,  screamed a yell full of grief, anger and sorrow...and as she did, another bolt of lightning flashed down.

Twiggy pulls three stones from his pocket and cast magic stone on them as he readies his sling.

With the treant down, Myarra turns her eyes on the last opponent, the shambler in the process of trying to eat Lennox.

With an inarticulate cry and sharp narrowing of her eyes, she turns, snapping out her wings and flies straight at the plant monster, blade swinging as if she was intending to cut it in half.

Roen turned and followed Myarra, who looked to be flying towards the last monster, a giant sized plant mound. He didn't want to get in the way and not be affective; hitting the Treant was completely useless, so Roen figured he would join the fight as soon as he saw what everyone's position was going to be.

Round 6 Results----------

With only one enemy left to fight, or so you all think, everyone focuses on the giant plant monster while keeping an eye on their surroundings. Nolan blasts the plant with a volley of Magic Missiles while Byron moves as fast as he dared to engage the plant after freeing his sword out of the now inanimate tree. His plate armor slows his movement, but he'll get there. He also tries not to get kicked by the horses, who are trying to get away, but are still tied to the tree. With the horses screaming, the fires from Fireballs burning and the Lightning Flashes coming out of the sky, anyone within a 3 mile radius will know something is going on over here. Nobody knows where Lorrik is, except for Flica, who is doing her best to keep Lorrik from running away too far, as Myarra charged in and slashed the giant plant creature across its "back" with her Greatsword. That definitely got the plant's attention, which gave Lennox the opportunity to disappear in a puff of smoke and reappear well out of the plant's reach. Roenthelm moves to help support Myarra, but makes room for Byron to come in when he gets there, as Amara floats in the sky, keeping her eyes open for further dangers. So far, she doesn't spot anything new. The "Shambler", now that Myarra can see it, turns and faces her. She doesn't think this creature is a Shambling Mound. This thing has a big mouth and 2 large "arms". The two arms swing and one hits Myarra on her left side and she barely dodges out of the way of the mouth as she sees the plant "mending back together". Aliana connected with her last Searing Light spell, but it didn't do much to the plant creature, but Myarra does see that that part of the plant isn't "mending". Kalliyan is highly distraught that she has to fight the same plant life she's sworn to defend as another Lightning Bolt comes out of the sky and strikes the creature again. Her Panther companion continues to be by her side in full protect mode. Twiggy pulls out 3 stones and casts a spell on them for his sling.

Note: The Big Yellow Square on the map are the horses and the tree they're tied up to. You'll have to go around that to see/fight the plant monster.

Myarra yells at the monster.  Those that don't speak undercommon are pretty sure they should be glad they don't speak undercommon.  She appears to be extraordinarily angry at the monster.  And given that she thought the attack by the orcs and giants had merely been a bit of fun ....

Kali, still distraught, focuses her angry gaze on the creature and yells at it with all the pain and anger she has in her soul. as the scream comes fourth, another crack of lightning comes down, striking the beast.

Sister Aliana cast another spell, conjuring a spiritual quarterstaff that she sent to attack the shambler.

Nolan chuckled at Myarra's cursing because he understood what she was saying. Pulling out one of his scrolls, Nolan cast a spell at the plant creature after he remembered what it was. He pointed his finger at the plant as a Lightning Bolt flashed through the air.

Lightning Bolt Damage: 22 Reflex DC 17 for 1/2

Enchantments and illusions don't tend to do much physical damage, but rather mental. And plants don't have minds, at least not the sort that magic usually could affect. But she could at make it less likely to hit Myarra.

With a few words and a gesture, Aamra aims to slow the creature.

Twiggy starts moving southeast trying to get an angle that doesnt send his missle through the horses.

Round 7 results----------

Nolan took a good look at the creature and something in his brain made him remember something he'd read long ago about the plant creature. In response, he pulled out a scroll and cast a Lightning Bolt on the plant. The plant didn't like that at all! Byron moved in while calling out to his horse, but none of the horses were having it. Byron moved into position and swung his sword on the creature, nailing it good, sending plant matter flying. Nobody knows where Lorrik is, except for Flica, who is doing her best to keep Lorrik from running away too far, while Myarra sends a flurry of bad words, mixed with sword slashes, aimed at the plant. Pieces of plant fall to the ground as the plant shrieks in pain. Lennox is in a world of hurt as he grabs his belt and mumbles a few words. He looks a lot better after doing so. Roenthelm stands guard, just in case the plant tried to eat one of his friends, ready to pull them out, as Amara cast a spell from her high elevation. She knew it worked as the "Plant" seemed to take much longer to try and swing it's "arms". But, unfortunately, Myarra and Byron watches the thing mend itself just fine. Aliana cast a spell from her elevated position and a Spiritual Weapon appeared above the plant and gave it a good whack. Kalliyan screamed at the plant creature as another Lightning Bolt came out of the sky and nailed the plant, while her panther protector continued to stand on guard by her side. Now that Twiggy was armed with magical ammo for his sling, he quickly moved on over to a position where he wouldn't get in the way of anything and prepared his attack.

Twiggy looks for a vunerable spot on the creature but can not figure out its anatomy.  Instead he slings the stone as hard as he can at the shambling mound.

Feeling a little more confident that he has helped hurt the creature, Byron swings again.

"It will be slow for a while, so now's a good time to beat it to death," Amara said, as she allowed herself to return to the ground. She reached into her pack and took out a length of silk rope, fashioning a lariat knot in one side. She also took out a necklace with a bulky pendant, hanging it from her neck. Those nearby might see that the pendant appears to be a humanoid hand encased in some sort of crystal or glass.

Roen didn't see the need to join the fight, as he wasn't sure if he would even be effective against the plant. Hitting the Treant was proof of that. So, he figured the best course of action would be to stay out of the way and prepare to pull somebody out if they got bit like Lennox did.

Kali's screaming stopped as suddenly as the lightning that she somehow summoned in her grief and pain, but the druid was still kneeling, weeping uncontrollably. Raieylan stopped pacing and looking around and tilted his head at the druid. It is then that you notice her skin start to flow a faint green. She looks up at the shambler, hatred and anger in her green feline eyes.

...feline eyes?

Kali lets out a low growl and her body shifts both in form and color. Before you know it, she is off her knee's and on all fours as her features become less human and more feline. Her body lengthens a little, worth her arms and legs changing shape and color, a tail begins to meld from her as her head and ears change shape.

Where Kali once was, a beauitful sleek panther stands.

A little smaller than Raieylan, the panther had subtle differences that marked her as Kali. First was her telltale green eyes (Though the usual kindness was lacking and now they had only pain, sorrow and hatred as she looked at the shambler). Her fur, though a hue of black, almost had a red shine to it, mirroring her usual auburn hair was still present in her form. And her usual gracefulness was mirrored by the cat here.

Raieylan was equally as shocked at the change as anyone, and when Kali began to stalk towards the shambler, growling, the protective panther padded beside her.

Since the Lightning Bolt spell was doing so good, Nolan cast the last one from his scroll before it disintegrated into dust.

Myarra ignores the efforts of her comrades ... not because she doesn't care ... but because she's focused on her own efforts.  Continuing a stream of insults in her native tongue, she slashes again and again.
