Amara pulled out the five gold from her own money. They could deal with division later. "We found it near a tree that had been infested with a demon in the forest," Amara responded, companionably. "It was powerful, and killed one of our party, before we were able to neutralize it." She put her money and pearls away. "Interesting items. Thank you, Aki. As always, it is a pleasure doing business with you."

"In general, if someone in our group can put it to good use, they may have it - at least as long as they are with us. And anything that no one particularly wants is sold or traded." Amara replies. "I believe we will need to sell at least one of these things to obtain the money we need. But let us go back to the others so we can discuss in more detail."

Twiggy and Myarra wander around town and now that they aren't part of the main adventuring group, Myarra can feel the cold stares of discrimination. The townsfolk aren't saying anything to you to your face, but you know dang well they are muttering stuff to themselves. You wander by the area that Twiggy was at before, the last time you all were here. The Leather Shop that Twiggy thinks belongs to the Dragon Cult. The place is still there and appears to have business. At that point, the both of you see 3 things.

1. The Shop that might be ran by the Dragon Cult
2. 4 Town Guards that are trying to look "casual", but you know dang well they are following you.
3. A tavern called the Red Talon.

"I didn't say I'd done it yet," Myarra teases her friend.  "Now if we get to Waterdeep, that might be the right time.  I'll drag Aliana up with me," she says in firm tone, but her eyes twinkling.  "The librarian will fall away and a star will be born!  Her training will be complete, and we will rule the Sword Coast together!"

"Here?" she glances around at the meager offerings.   "Not a chance.  This place is barely one step up from the forest."

"How about the Red Talon?  Every heard of it?  Anything decent to drink?"

She ignores the guards as being completely irrelevant.

"So much for a private showing" Twiggy teases but likes the ideo of the ladies ruling the sword coast together. Twiggy is used to gaurds following him, for some reason halfling have been stereotyped as thieves, and probably justly so. "Never heard of it but it is right here, let's have a few then if we don't like it try another one."

Re: 1372: The Year of Wild Magic: Day 191-196

Twiggy and Myarra go into the tavern and grab a table in the corner, where they could easily watch who comes in the tavern. The place is still somewhat empty, so you think you beat the lunch crowd, as it's not yet noon-time. If you've seen a tavern before, then this one doesn't stand out. The tavern girl takes your order and you keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't do anything funny with your drinks...which she doesn't. The 4 guards you saw tailing you come in and take a seat next to the front door and order food and drink. A couple of them look your way, but so far, they are just keeping their distance. Myarra has dealt with this all her life and she knows that these guards are some of the honest good ones. Both of you finish your drinks, get a nice loaf of warm bread to go and exit the tavern to meet up with Amara at Aki's place. You arrive when Aki offers to purchase or trade the stuff Amara brought in...

Re: 1372: The Year of Wild Magic: Day 191-196

Kali, silent most of teh conversation, listens to the two talk with a smile on her face. Byron and amos were more akin to an uncle and nephew relationship than traders, and Kali knew well enough that any gear that he got would come here to the man. The woman absently drew the scimitar and looked at it as the two talked, still awe inspired by the feel and look. She smiled and resheathed it and when byron and Amos had a break the druid stepped up.

"I am truely sorry for your friend....with his release he will find the peace he deserves. As for releasing the debt, the way i see it is i have a new one....to fulfill the tasks your friend had in protecting the balance of life, and on my life as long as i have this blade, i will honor your friend and my fallen brother."

Upon impulse, the little druid skipped up and hugged the man with a brief but warm hug. when she disengaged, she had a smile on her face. "...and, like Byron, anything i gain that will not be needed, i will bring here also."

She looked at byron warmly, dropping her gaze with a slight tinge in her cheeks.

In truth she never expected the debt to be liquified so quickly....to do so showed the man's character and heart, and that was something the druid would not forget.

....she understood now where Byron got his warm heart.

She looked at the man. "And if you ever need anytrhing of me, you need only ask Amos"

Twiggy ignored the gaurds and enjoyed his ale with Myarra. In a lower voice the halfli g gets a michivious grin and says "If you want to have some fun we can always ditch these gaurds and play hide n seek with them.  We can enjoy watching them look for us."

Once they are done with the ale he heads to Aki's.

"I'm not gonna git all mushy about this." Amos said, his face reddening "You three git out of here now. Lunch is over and I have work to do. I have your arrows, Byron."

Amos quickly went behind the counter and pulled out a quiver with nice silver-headed arrows inside.

"If you be goin' back to the forest, I have no doubt you'll need these."

Even though Roen noticed Aki's look, he understood. Roen knows what he looks like, but he's beyond caring about that. He only wants to help people who can't help themselves and finding and selling treasure like this will go a long way with helping them.

"Amara, if this takes a while, we should make plans on either staying in town, or getting food for the road and making camp where we can."

Aki smiles and tells you to have a good day. You all head out the door and walk down the street to meet up with Byron, Kalliyan and Lorrik, who were at Amos' place. You all see and meet up with each other in the street in front of the tavern that Myarra and Twiggy were just at 15 minutes ago. Byron and Kalliyan are informed of the stuff that was identified and also about the details of what should be done about the ruined tower in the forest. Since you're in front of the tavern anyways, you all go in here for lunch. Myarra and Twiggy were just in here, but Twiggy doesn't care.
