Re: 1372: The Year of Wild Magic: Day 191-194

Byron smiles at Myarra as he understands her good vs evil to up vs down perspective.

There are people on the surface who think and act likes those of the underdark.  That said, I feel those who forsake their fellow family members for being different do a great disservice to themselves and those close to them.  I would think Amara is right about it being out of fear.

Byron looks over at Lorrik.

He's going to have to learn to live with the knowledge that his friends are dead and learn that adventuring has a very steep learning curve in order to survive.  And before any of you think I'm fearless.  I'm not.  I have my fears and doubts about a great many things.  I just try to conquer them and do what I feel must be done to make the world a better place for all of us.

"Myarra, you overstate it a bit. There is love, trust, and caring. Otherwise no child would ever be able to grow up - we'd all have been murdered, or at least abandoned, as children. But it rarely extends beyond family. And when family turns on you," Amara shrugged. "Anyway. I agree with the bathing being a good idea. I will see you all in the morning, I imagine." And with that, she headed toward the baths.

"Maybe if you're lucky enough to have a family," Myarra mutters, but then just nods to the others and heads off behind Amara, not letting on how pleased she is that she can now walk around the lower parts of the tower unaided.  Having to hold someone's hand was really getting old.

Aliana would join Lorrik and the others,  also intent on a meal and a bath,  though not necessarily at the same time

Kali, having not eaten in the tower like some others, joined them for a meal, and though she willingly entered the tower, she was obviously still ill at ease indoors, fidgeting and looking around nervously. Her food was mainly made up of fish and vegetables.

After a time, she looked around, clearly the inner demons taking it's toll. with a forced smile she stood.

"I will sleep in the tree outside. I will see you in the morning." the druid (A little quicker than normally) walked for the exit, and the outside world.

Kali, sitting down under the tree, breathes a sigh as she looks outside, and looks on as Byron follows the woman. Kali smiled as he sat by her side, and looked at the stars.

"You didn't need to come out....Raie will be alonng soon, if he's not already looking at us in the shadows. If you need a fire to keep warm, collect some wood." As she spoke, she didn't take her eyes from the stars.

As if hearing his name, the panther stalked out of the tree's not far away, and padded over, and moving in between Kali and Byron, lies down close to the woman and closes his eyes.

The woman smiled, placing a hand on the panther

Myarra does as she said she would, sitting for an hour or so at the dinner table with Twiggy, allowing the halfling to repair some of the rips and tears combat had created in her shirts.  They're getting a bit full of stitches, to be honest.  After they take care of Lorrik, she's looking forward to getting back to the city where she can buy something new to wear.

Afterward, she heads back out of the tower which, irritatingly, still gives her a headache, and makes camp on the roof of one of the still damaged buildings.

Re: 1372: The Year of Wild Magic: Day 191-195

Lorrik follows the group inside the tower and Nolan gives him the dime-tour of the place. He is completely overwhelmed with the place and a bit embarrassed about bathing with the males in the group and is startled by the presence of Ashara, the Displacer Beast. You all get more food and then go to the areas where you wish to sleep for the night...Kalliyan, Byron and Myarra choosing to be outside, while the rest of you go grab a bunk in the student's quarters. The night passes uneventfully and you rise in the morning...some of you are sore. You get breakfast, pray/memorize spells for the day, pack up your gear for the trip and are ready to leave at first light. It's going to be a long day....

Byron looks like he's been up almost half the night on guard and on patrol around the area.  Even so he's feeling pretty good and ready to leave with the others at first light.

Nobody has seen Nolan since he gave Lorrik the tour. After that, he went up stairs to the labs and hasn't been seen since.

As the others begin gathering, Myarra soars down from the rooftop to join them.  "So are we all going, except for Nolan?"  Reclaiming her horse, she goes through the saddlebags, making sure everything is properly packed for the journey.

"So, Lorrik, is there anything we should know about your village?  Important folks we need to make sure we don't insult or the like?  Anyone that doesn't want to you be able to pay off your debts?   Just trying to make sure we don't accidentally run into any drama.  As you may have noticed, we tend to attract drama.  Speaking of which, I'll make myself look human before we get there, just in case.

Oh, and you said you have sisters.  Make sure you point them out so I can keep Byron from flirting with them."

"I'm from the farming area on the outskirts of Triel on the West side of the Trielta Hills. We went into town once a week for supplies and to sell off parts of the crop to pay bills. The only one that might not want us to pay our loan is Mr. Centauri. He loaned my father the money. I don't know the details of the loan, but I just didn't like him. His kids are around my age and they are brats. Get everything they want. I hate them."

"My 2 sisters are Megan and Nina. Megan is older than me. She's 17 and Nina is 12."

Kali, standing behind the others, listened to the banter between Myarra and Byron, her pale skin taking a hint of color. "Be nice Myarra....I have kissed him. But at the time he was being recklessly brave and foolish and I thought he was going to die painfully....seemed a good idea at the time."

She looked at Byron with a smile. "Don't worry...i won't let a bugbear woman take you away...yet" Despite her humour, most can tell that she had genuine affection for the man.

Raieylan, standing at her side, snorted and rolled his eyes, bumping against the druid.

"Ok you old grump....we're going!" She smiled and looked at the group. "If we don't leave soon, Raie will get moody, so lets go."

Twiggy mounted up with someone since he couldn't ride a horse by himself "Hopefully I can buy a riding dog when we get to the next town. Don't worry Lorrick, I am sure we can get your farm back. Gold always speaks loud. What are you thinking, three or four days to get there? That is if we do not have to help someone kill a troll or something."

Turning her horse's head, she urges it slowly forward on the road to Soubar.

"You can ride with me, Twiggy," Amara offered. At about four and a half feet, the drow was midway between the size of Twiggy and most of the others, and any horse could carry them both. "Are we sure that we don't want to split up to get things done more quickly? We're talking about being out and about for a month or so."

Re: 1372: The Year of Wild Magic: Day 191-196

In the morning, most of you are sore from all the traveling and the fight with Mazmular and the Black Elementals. But, you're all young and strong and you all eventually get out of bed, gather your gear, pray/memorize for your spells, eat breakfast and head on out of the village. Several farmers are already working their fields on what looks to be a fine day (It's the equivalent of middle June) and they wave to you as you ride by. You brought some extra food from the magical replicator, knowing that you'll be spending the night on the prairie tonight and heading on in to Soubar late morning the next day.

The day is uneventful as you travel along the dirt road, slowing down at the clump of trees where you fought the Dragon Cult before to make sure nothing was waiting for you there. At the end of the day, you catch up to a local villager and his wife heading to Soubar with an empty cart to fetch supplies. You don't know his name, but you've seen him working around the village. You make camp with him and his wife seems very happy for the company.

You set up your guard watches, but nothing happens during the night and you make it to Soubar around 10:30am the next day.

You're going to need to purchase Trail Rations before you leave Soubar again. This is also a good place to purchase more horses. Please review treasure thread on what the party has found:

Sister Aliana enjoyed talking to the village couple, and swapped stories with them (though she focused more on her time with the Oghman Library,  rather than her time fighting demons and dragons, so as to not freak them out)

As the reached town,  she turned to her friends
"Shall we get the magic items identified?  I know i might be able to find a use for a few of them "
