After resting up and healing and distributing the loot, the party begins the march south.  The path south crosses a river half a day from the village (where some of the players who are no longer here tried to slow down undead with the proper application of fireballs).  The trail the undead made with their tens of thousands of feet is easy to follow.

After traveling for three days, you arrive at a deserted town.  Koryu meets back up with you there with the scroll of restoration (lady maria, mark off the 800 gold).

Lady Maria had resisted some of the wight's draining effect, but still some had remained and left her paler than usual and make her feel weakened. So when Koryu arrived with the restoration scroll she was reliefed when finally Titus used the scroll on her and restored her vitality to full.

Lady Maria had cleansed much as she could the wight's armor, both literally and also by prayers. But still wearing pitch black armor which followed her figures made her feel uncomfortable with it for now until they find time and place to work her armor's appearance to more to her liking.

When they arrive to the deserted town she gestures to her soldiers with her; "Arm and ready yourselves, there can be remains of the undead army in here." The soldiers ready their crossbows and notch their bolts. But they had still swords and shields strapped on their backs if they need pull them out instead. Lady Maria dismounts her horse and starts walk cautiously to the town, her dark admantium greatsword ready in her hands she looks around for danger or any sign of life or unlife.

When Koryu arrives at the city, he circles overhead before landing and giving Maria the scroll.

Koryu sees nothing from his circling over the city.  A cursory inspection reveals signs of a battle or possibly a slaughter in the recent past.  There are scorch marks, broken doors, overturned carts, and scattered bones.

Aeron, go ahead and make a spot check.

You don't see anything out of the ordinary, for such a scene, Aeron.

How do you guys proceed?  Lady Maria is marching into the town with her soldiers?

One detail I forgot, there is a large temple in this town, dedicated to a minor god.  It is on top of a hill on the north side of town and is made of large stone blocks while most of the other buildings are made of wood or even small stones and mortar.  This building would have been the most defensible location.

Siraref is walking silently next to Aeron, standing still and waiting as necessary, such as just now.

Lady Maria continues to march, looking around with her keen sight which allows see even through even solid darkness but erase shadows. She holds cautiously her greatsword for possible dangers or ambushes when she goes in to search for anything about undead, survivors or supplies.

Mitran stays in the middle of the group, keeping an eye out.

Aeron rides on the flank of the group

Lady Maria shouts out; "We got something moving in here! If your not undead, please stop!" Lady Maria then rushes towards alley where she saw movement and her soldiers follow mounted, moving to other alleys to try block or surround whatever Lady Maria saw.

There is no response from the alley.

Lady Maria moves towards the spot where she saw movement rapidly as she could in full plate. Followed by her soldiers who were mounted on horses. Lady Maria looks around for any sign of enemies or possibly fleeing survivors from this village.

Glasenter raises his palm, signal to the Bridgeburners to stop the march. His eyes move, trying to catch any movement from the distance, for a few moments.
And then, Glasenter shuts his eyes, concentrating on a point in the sky, above the town, from where he can see the houses and streets below.
