Oh, that case only Lady Maria passed as she got 29 on her check. But that reveals also the warmage we are facing is 10th level in CL wise (only handful items raise CL by +1 and perhaps a feat). So 8-10 level range.

Yup means I failed on a Nat 20, I thought a Tie went to the defender though in an opposed check? May need to change my spell, I don't think I can cast a fireball while grappled or can I?

While grappled you need roll concentration check DC 20 + spell level able cast it. Black Tentacles cannot place you into pin (but they keep doing damage consistently).

Edit; Wait....I could use immediate action to give Ellina +5 to her grapple check thanks hero's regalia power..... >:D.

Cause yknow, Fire Shield AND Ring of Blades. Should be shredding them.

Black Tentacles on basic description are immune to all damage and cannot be destroyed. One reasons why it's darn popular spell vs casters (and fellow warmages) as only dispel magic, teleporting out or sheer muscle power breaks you free.

Anycase good I invested to Hero's Regalia, it's darn awesome in team battles. I hope GM likes background story for the items :).

Also I think you need edit old post and make new post where you do your threat against the Pelorites to surrender or you fire blast.

Also as I did my smite I used Awesome Smite feat, so did Lord Elazran have miss chance some kind (as I primarily focused use the strike so), however if there was no miss chance in place I would had used trip option from the awesome smite. So did I ignore miss chance or tried trip vs Lord Elazran but failed to do so?

He rolled a 27, so I thought you needed a 28 to win the opposed grapple check
27-9cl= 18
18-8=10 is what I rolled.

However, I reread the rules. My current and final rule is this:
You must win the opposed roll check to change the status quo.

For example, Hermanel rolled a 27. Elliana rolled a 27 too. It is Hermanel who wants to change the status quo by grappling Elliana, so he is the one who must win. It is a tie, so he cannot grapple her.
THIS MEANS THAT ELLIANA IS FREE, Regalia of the hero or not.

If he would have succeeded and Elliana would have to try to free herself, she would be the one who has to roll higher than him.


Also, 2 items of the Regalia of the Hero helps with attacks, save, and skill checks. An opposed grapple check is not an attack, even when it "is like a melee attack roll".

I will let you edit (again) your posts. This pretty much sets everyone free, without any other effort. Your rolls already set you free from Lord Hermanel's spell. But the result is the same, so I will make my post late at night. Congratulations you have win. I hoped it would be a little more challenging, but my rolls were pretty low. Particularly in Lord Elazran, whose only good roll was to stand on his feet.

To be fair, I'm not sure I'd consider this an easy fight. The low rolls helped, but it was only because of being underestimated that they took such heavy damage. And the fact no one mentioned rules, this would have been a LOT different if we had done this 1v1 x2

Yeah, Lord Elazran made a rather solid hit on Lady Maria and if he had done full attack he may had won the fight (he must have lots dmg besides smiting Lady Maria, so either high Str or have various anti-evil stacking like flaming, holy etc).

Anycase ok, I myself treat any bonus to attack rolls as bonus to grapple checks (example inspire courage bonus applies to monk's attempt to establish grapple). Good to know that's not the case. Anycase edited my post according that regalia of hero does not help vs grapple checks.

Not sure what spell it actually is, since most cure spells require a touch, but Elliana is refusing to be healed by him.

You can't be healed... You are not hurt.

15 damage to the head?

It may be mass heal spell, so Fieryheart does not need touch you (or mass cure moderate wounds or such). Anycase Lady Maria does not refuse the healing in her part.

Specifically Elliana should have a cut/gash on her forehead if not some blistered flesh at around 15 damage. Elliana does not plan to 'clean up'. She is going to go walk inside and return to eating.

After leaving with the Paladins of Pelor, and returning with her face gashed open looking like she got hit in the face.

Rereading the order of your spells, I see that you are still damaged before Fieryheart takes notice of your wounds. Only for 3, though.

Tentacles made you 15 damage but you have Fast Healing 1 for 12 rounds.

In any case, the will save is too low to resist his spell. You are fully healed.

Sorry to state LM but Elliana wouldn't have gone in without Maria, That's why I posted in OOC asking a question. I was waiting on a reply before I posted, her actions would/will change on whether or not she was healed.

The only question I am seeing in the OOC is about if the damage is stil there or not. I didn't know you had other plans depending on the situation.

I don't think that Lady Maria will mind a little more roleplaying with Fieryheart before dinner. Feel free to post your intention, and if it is necessary I will edit/delete my post.

Well, I do not mind RP but I hope it can be more constructive RP than just shouting match between Lady Maria and Fieryheart. As she plans stick with the idea that any religious doghma discussion is held 'outside' and they finished said discussion just recently.

Or if discussion is held, it's held civil manner without shouting and be discussion than argument led shouting match. Otherwise, I am fine just RP with my mother plus father in law, which background wise is follower of Pelor but so far appears 'accept' Lady Maria's faith (although it was arguments and difference in opinion which made her form distant relationship with him and eventually leave to study Sublime Way and ways of knight in other country).

I knew Warmages really escalated when fighting a group but eeesh!

Yeah, warmages main point being spell damage/destruction upon enemies. They sacrifice lot utility stuff for single purpose really. But you can go creative with some spells they get or expand it clever fashion.
