Morteft says, "Oh, you were serious about the horse? Don't you think it might be an insult to Penny? She isn't like baby. She is in her full glory and probably doesn't want helpless prey. She would rather have the thrill of the chase and give her food a fighting chance. While this fine horse is a very nice gift, it may send the wrong message. We don't want her to take it as meaning that we think she is weak or feeble or that we see her in that way. I think it might be best to err on the side of discretion when we enter into talks with her. After all, this is a very different Penny from the one we knew...she is one that has the Dragon Council around. Just a thought..." He trails off.

Shorty looks at Morteft like he has two heads.  "Dragons always hungry.  Horse be bestus food n dis time not make a peoples made cause eatin pet.  Me not unndersan cause horse be to big fer house and two small fer ride.  Sides, not takin horse inside Penny cave.  Horsey get scairt to bad fer smell.  Leaves outside where Penny ken catch n eats.  Dis be present from Shorty if you not likes."

'If this Penny is at all like the dregs we used to know, I believe she'll understand the meaning of Shorty's gift.  I also intend to give her something, so I'm sure we'll be fine brining the horse as well.'

Aztar nods at the question about being ready to go and stands waiting to see if everyone else is as well.

Shorty laughs happily.  "Time go see Penny Dragon."

Dualis:"Very well then, gather round.  The entrance to Penny's is a little different than before so I will send you there.  She is expecting you, no need to worry about surprising her.  Oh, one more thing, your initial greeting should be 'Penny, Mighty Mistress of the Mountain';  she thought it was catchy.  I have some business to take care of but I should be here when you get back."


You gather near each other and almost instantly you are transported into the mountains east of Calator.  You find yourself deep in the mountain round, snow capped peaks are all around.  In front of you a mountain stretches high above you.  You stand near a shear cliff face, below your feet is at least a 1000' foot drop.

You then notice that looking down you don't see any rock that you stand on, just a sheer drop!  Most of you realize you are probably standing on an invisible ledge.  The horse doesn't realize this and starts to freak out.  Not to sure about Shorty either.

Shorty grins as he looks down.  "Neat!!"  Shorty quickly slips a spare sack over the horses eyes so it can not see.  He then lets it smell his hand so it knows it is safe and feeds it a carrot.  Shorty then ties the horse up to a safe spot and looks excitedly at the drop.  "Ken me go firstes?  Me no No Fall Down.  Me like go firstes see Penny Dragon."

Shorty checks one more time to make sure the horse is secured away from the edge and then steps happily off into space.  Grinning like a child. He yells out happily.  "Me coming Friend Penny Dragon."

Morteft says, "Wait..."

Morteft looks to see if there is a cave entrance nearby before Shorty steps off the cliff.

Aztar quickly reaches out and touches Shorty's shoulder nodding at Morteft's assessment.  "I believe we are at the cave Shorty.  We just can't see it yet."


Aztar looks around at the cliff face trying to determine if there is an opening there.

You don't see any cliff at the moment.  The wall of the mountain is about 20' in front of you.  Also you begin to hear a thump thump sound as if someone is pounding stone against stone or someone is walking in large stone shoes.  The sound get's louder.

The horse has calmed down as he munches on a carrot.

Warwick faces the stone wall and yells.  "Penny, Mighty Mistress of the Mountain!  We seek an audience, please."

In reply to Warwick (msg # 252):

Shorty shankes his head and sighs.  "Silly Fuzz Face."  Shorty yells out.  "Friend Penny.  We here.  Shorty need find door, where possed go?"

Aztar smiles as he looks at the rock wall, his focus clearly beyond the rock at something else.  'Yes.  Her cave is here.  We are about to be met.'

Waiting a brief moment, he calls out, 'Greetings Rocky.  I believe we are expected?'

At about that time a large stone figure passes thru the mountain wall in front of you.  It is distinctly male in shape, and looks much like the one in Teke's tower.  He is about 10' tall and heavily muscled or at least sculptured that way.

He speaks with a somewhat gritty voice. "Greetings Sir Aztar, yes you are indeed expected.  Thank you Master Warwick for the formal greeting.  Her lady enjoys it.  Will you follow me please."

He turns and disappears thru the wall.

Shorty looks down and pats his armor.  "Me here to Rock Head.  An me bring lunch fer Penny Dragon.  So there."  Shorty moves forward ignoring the rock man.
