Warwick:
In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 131):

"The amulet does all that?  Well, that'd been good to know before the battle with the trolls.  Could've used that teleport to our advantage.  And we wouldn't have had to use me as the telepathic relay.  Ah, well, I suppose the past is the past.  Now, after we meet Penny and save Rigel, what should we do?"

Dualis:"Yes I suppose that would have been nice, with one small problem.  They didn't do it at that time.  It would have been too unpredictable in the presence of the comet chunk.  The powers have recently been activated."

Re: Delith: The Beginning

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 134):

OOC: I will assume this is private, i.e. with the characters only.

Morteft says, "I was thinking about the impact of messing with an event in time. The impact it had on the war has been remarkable. I am not sure who did it, but what if we did the same about this threat? We could go back in time and find Set's scouts or vanguard and stop them from finding Delith. Alternatively, if we want to save billions, maybe we can go back in time to before Set was a god and slay him earlier in his life in order to stop him from ever amassing that kind of power. Of course, another dark power will rise in his place, but it may have a different bent than Set has. I do realize it is very dangerous to mess with such time streams, although I think the threat would be less for Delith since he is not native here."

Re: Delith: The Beginning

In reply to Morteft (msg # 136):

OOC: We can make it private, I'll conclude the meeting and move to this.

Dualis nods to the Council: "Thank you for your support.  Artharlian should be hear shortly."

Dualis then goes back over to the table and picks up his gold hourglass.  You catch a brief glimpse of it as he grabs it and you see both bulbs about half full.  You could have sworn all the grains were in the bottom when he put it on the table.

"You may rejoin the party in it's entirety gentlemen."

You all disperse, going back to the banquet area you experience something strange.  It looks like everyone is in about the same spot as when you left.  You even notice a conversation that doesn't seem to have progressed much Soraal and Basil.  You move to a corner and Morteft asks his question.

Dualis:"Yes the impact was quite dramatic; however the individual that cast the spell died at it's completion.  Such is what the spell requires.  Even if such a spell would be cast again, Set is now wise to our ability now and probably be able to thwart it.
A slight misconception you have is because of the Delithian deities are composed of many that were like us at one time.  Set and others like him are one of the oldest if not the oldest races in the multi-verse; endowed with great power naturally.  The champions themselves would probably be destroyed by opposing him even before godhood as you say.  Lastly, the power required to go that far back in time and try to effect some event is almost without measure.  I would think only the greatest of gods could attempt it."

Re: Delith: The Beginning

In reply to Morteft (msg # 145):

Dualis nods to Morteft.

"Well if no one else has any more business here we should begin ours else where."  He raises his hand and you all disappear and quickly reappear in a large lounge area.  The stone walls are about 18' high and the room is roughly circular about 50' across.  There is a fire pit in the middle with various plush looking chairs and small tables all around, in all about 15 chairs and 10 tables.  There are numerous pictures on the walls some landscapes but mostly of those like wizards.  One picture looks very much like Dualis but in the picture one side of his face looks horribly burned.  There is a small shelf of books along a section of wall and hanging from the ceiling is a large chandelier lit in 10 different spots covered in partially opaque glass.  There is one door in the room, two actually as it is a double door, 10' high and solid mahogany by the looks of it.

Dualis:"Welcome to Teke's tower.  Would anyone like a drink or dessert?"

He doesn't sit, but rather, moves around the room examining it closely. "A lifetime, or rather, several lifetimes of collecting things can add up, I suppose."

In reply to Morteft (msg # 150):

Voice: "Very good sir."  a fancy glass with a dark brown liquid in it appears on a table near Morteft.

The double doors open and a pair of detailed stone golems, one obviously male and the other female, walk in with two large trays of foodstuffs, cakes, pastry etc on one and various small items of meats and cheeses at the end of very thin sticks.  They wheel it into the middle of the room and then go stand by the doors.

"Thank you Mica and Flint. Now, where to begin ..."

Re: Delith: The Beginning

In reply to Aztar (msg # 149):

Dualis waits for all to get comfortable, get drinks, dessert or whatever.

"Since Set will need to regroup a little bit we can move on to some other things such as freeing Rigel.  Tomorrow you will go see Penny about the dragon orbs.  She should be able to tell you something about the orbs to help you get Rigel out of it.  I can tell you a little bit about where they are and some history.

Long ago during the Golden Age of Delith all was flourishing.  There was great peace, magical research and commerce were unprecedented.  The only possible threat there was besides each other were dragons.  There was a fine relationship with the good dragons of the day.  The problem was the evil dragons, they were unpredictable and untrustworthy; further the good dragons would not directly confront the evil ones.  Perhaps one on one but never large battles.  One possible defense and a powerful one were the artifacts known as Dragon Orbs.  There were 12 of these to represent the 12 age categories of dragons.  The rulers of the day thought these Orbs would be very good to have as some insurance against any dragon attack; so they sent out mighty groups on quests to gather these Orbs.  Thru the years they were able to 10 of the 12, the only ones they did not recover was the 6th and 11th.  The 12th representing the oldest of dragons took 10 years to find and bring back and it was a major triumph for them.
The good dragon leaders were quite upset when they found out about these developments; because these Orbs are feared among all dragons.  They saw this as a way for the men of that day to attempt a first strike, if you will, against them.  Ever since then the relationship between the free cities and Delith and the dragons has been a bit tense."

Dualis pauses to see if anyone has comment.

'So, I assume the one that captured Rigel is one of the two that were still missing?  If so, i guess that explains why no one could find it as it had already been found.  Do the ors have any symbiotic magic if all twelve were gathered? '

'So, who possesses the other ten?  Are they spread about or re they controlled by one man?

'Perhaps we can bring some calm between the two sides if we give it to the good dragons once we find it.'

Dualis:"Actually the one that has Rigel is the 12th Orb, the Great Wyrm.  Only the unique dragons have a chance against it.  That is a good question, to my knowledge all twelve have never been together so it is unknown if there is any symbiosis; however it is believed so.

Nobody possesses the other 10, they are sealed away in a tower with 12 separate rooms.  That is the other part of the story.

My guess is that they would want to see the Orbs scattered throughout Delith.  Penny may be able to tell you more."

Re: Delith: The Beginning

Aztar looks a bit perplexed at Dualis's answers, 'I was able to scry the orb shortly after the king disappeared and it appeared to be in a cave and something was there that shut down my scrying.  It didn't appear to be a tower and actually seemed like quite a sizable cave.'

'But, if you know which orb has him and where they are stored, shouldn't it just be a simple matter to ask those that collected the orbs to release Rigel?'
