In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 73):

"I ain't here to hurt him the smith, lads," says Warwick as he continues forward, seemingly unconcerned about the cyclops.  "Just want to watch a master at his craft and see if he can can help me get some notches out of me armor."

Re: Delith: Dinner and Go

In reply to Warwick (msg # 74):

The cyclops continue to watch as Warwick moves closer.  Then the smitty says, "Number 5 hammer, quickly lad."  The cyclops to his left in one quick motion - quicker than you would think for one his size, reaches behind and pull out a hammer, you can only assume a number 5.  The dwarf takes the hammer and gives the battle axe head one more thunderous smack.  He gives the hammer back to the cyclops.  "Ah that does.  Time for an ale lads."  He then looks at you.  "Ah visitors and Miss Trinny, always a pleasure lass.  What can I do you for?"

Trinny just smiles and allows Warwick to proceed.

Warwick gives the smith a deep bow.  "Master, it's a great honor.  I have need of yer skill to remove some dents to me armor.  Or perhaps, if ye have armor of better quality, a purchase.  Name's Warwick Forgemaker."

The dwarf looks Warwick over.  Stronginthearm is wearing a heavy leather apron and gloves.  He looks like heavily built dwarf of average height, his hair is brown with streaks of red.

"Ah a fine young dwarf if ever I saw, good strong name too.  I think I came across another Forgemaker a while back.  Rorik I believe his name was, excellent warrior.  Hmm, well it doesn't look too bad; but I think I can get you an upgrade.  Trade me your armour and I'll cut the price of a +3 set by half, it is an adamantine mithril mix.  What do you say lad?"

Shorty studies the whole scene carefully including the two cyclops to make sure they don't hurt his friend.  He then steps forward to look at the axe.

Aztar continues to follow the tour having never been to the smith himself, he was curious about that part of the tower.  However, he had no need of weapons or armor, so remained silent but curious as to the dealings.

In reply to Shorty (msg # 78):

The two cyclops just stand there watching everyone.

Shorty takes a look at the axe.  It is a double bladed battle axe, it has not been put on a shaft yet.  The metal is black with a glint of light along the edge of the blades.

"Rorik?  That's me uncle!"

Warwick nods.  "Aye, Master.  I'll take ye up on yer offer as it's a fine one."

Warwick pulls out his axe, handles it by the blade and extends the hilt towards the dwarf.  "I wonder, did ye ever meet me Grandpappy?  Name of Hemrick.  This was his masterpiece.  He called it 'Giant Cleaver'.  I know, not much of a name, but Grandpappy wasn't all that right in the head.  But, he sure could craft a blade."

Shorty pulls out his own double bladed axe and compares the two.  He definitely like the black blade as it reminds him of his sword.  Then he mutters to himself.  "Maybe him fix glove."

The quality of the axe head looks beyond that of Shorty's.  It does not look to be made of steel.

Stronginthearm: "Very well we shall trade, Gomer, go fetch the new armour."  he says to one of the cyclops.  Gomer trots off behind a bend in the cavern.  "Ah yes I have heard Hemrick I dare say there are few who haven't; but I wouldn't have dared guess his was your Grandpappy or that he made any weapons.  He was a great General, his victories at Trolls Pass and the Battle of Savron were epic.  This is truly amazing"  His eyes widen when he looks at the axe.  "Ultramacrulum!  Only a true master can hope to work with such material.  Truly amazing, it was never mentioned that he did any weapon making.  Amazing."

Stronginthearm looks truly blown away by this news.

Shorty looks at the two, the metal is different and so is the shine.  The axe blade seems to be brighter perhaps reflecting the light better it also appears to sparkle when held at a certain angle toward the fire.  Both items are of high quality.

"Wait right here."  Stronginthearm walks over to a door in the side of the cavern wall.  you here some rummaging around a some minutes later he returns with a book.  It is open, he walks over to Warwick and shows him the book.  On the right hand page is a picture of Warwicks grandfather and on the left hand page a list of his exploits.  The page is titled 'General Hemrick Forgemaker'.

"Lad, you need to have yer head checked, maybe too many bumps."

Aztar stands silently and listens to the xchange about Warwick's family.  Obviously a lot had changed in the time wrap and the alchemist was  slightly amused at Warwick's discussion with the smith regarding his grand father.

Stronginthearm looks the sword over  "Well lad the axe is made from a special metal.  The metal is part of a meteorite but it came from the comet site.  It is like a +4 battle axe; but not magical in the truest sense.  Seems to have an energy of it's own.  The axe is nice but thisin is superior.  Yer sword is special too but different in its make.  Looks like it was made on the outer planes, so again the material is not from this world.
Sorry about yer glove lad but I cannot 'fix' it.  It has no magic no more, you need a high level mage for that fixin."

Re: Delith: Dinner and Go

In reply to Warwick (msg # 95):

As you look over the information in the book you can see without a doubt that this General Hemrick is your grandfather.  He hails from the same area of Delith and lists his kin and children which match your memory.  The main differences is in what they did.  You seem to come from a line of warriors or priests, some where both.  Your uncle Rorik is a warrior and a fine one by the looks of things.  Some of your grandads battles are the defense of Stoneguard,  Siege of Trolls Deep near Mt Gargaragoth, Battle at Deilth River and even as far north as Urith - Lake of Souls battle.  Not all of the battles were against trolls, there were giants, orcs and gnolls.
It also appears your family has an estate in Stoneguard - several acres of underground caverns.  You are also mentioned in the book, but mostly mentions high expectations.
