Re: Delith: Dinner and Go

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 97):

Warwick squirms uncomfortably as he reads the book.  To think that the time line change has affected his whole family is quite disconcerting.  He almost hopes to never meet his family members ever again.  Trying to treat them as they are portrayed frightens him more than the battle with the Troll King.

Re: Delith: Dinner and Go

In reply to Warwick (msg # 99):

As a couple of you ponder things, the cyclops comes back with a very nice looking set of dwarfed sized plate mail.  The plate mail hangs on a wooden frame that the cyclops holds.  He puts it down in front of Warwick.  "There ya go lad." says Stronginthearm  "A beautiful set for a Forgemaker.  So, anyone else need something?"

Trinny walks over to Warwick. "You are troubled, yes?"

"Thank ye, Master.  Ye got some place I can change?  And what do I owe ye?"

"Aye, lass, but now's not the time to be talking about it, I would guess."

Trinny: "We can talk when we get to a time dilation room."

Stronginthearm gives a wry smile "Iszatso wizard.  Would you be interested in a nice set of bracers, AC 4, not many wizards would turn these down."

"I have a ring of spell storing, a couple rings of protection, a ring of water walking and a ring of fire resistance. You could have one or more of those if you want them. I also have a ring I created that has a couple of powers. You are welcome to it as well."

"That is quite a few rings lad.  Well the rings of fire resistance would help here in the forge and water walking when I need to cross the underground river for supplies.  Those two would do nicely."

Stronginthearm takes the rings.  "Thankye.  Grendle, go fetch the number 4 braces."  The other cyclops walks away around the bend in the cavern.

"So are all ye headed off on a glorious adventure?"

Stronginthearm gets a big smile on his face, somewhat tough to tell with all that beard but...  "Well why didn't you say, no better death then when fighting against heavy odds .. or giants, ha ha."  the cyclops just folds his arms across his chest and frowns.   "I might have some more goodines fer ya.  So any ideas what yer up against?"

Aztar steps forward, curious what the forge master might have, 'a vault.  A guardian construct.  An abomination of some sort resembling a dragon.  Magically fortified structure that prevents teleporting and dimensional access, protected by magical and mundane traps.'.  The way he says it, it's like he's reading off a list but doesn't have any paper in front of him.  'Quite a unique vault and the details on it are very scarce, so we only have rumors and a few shreds of details.'

In reply to Aztar (msg # 113):

Morteft nods. "Something that can help open doors or defeat golems for sure. Oh, I have a dagger. Can you tell me what it is?"

He hands him the dagger that is either +3 or +4 so that he can get a better idea of the power.

In reply to Morteft (msg # 114):

OOC: Morteft would do this a little bit later after the blacksmith.

He says to Shorty, Warwick and Aztar. "I have some items I am not using. If you can use them, you are welcome to them. They are:

Ring of Wizardry -  3rd level spells
Ring of Spell Storing
    Haste
    Cone of Cold
    Fire Shield
ring of protection +1 or +2
ring of +4 protection (5' radius)
ring of Morteft
sparks snake forth, power linked to wearer, lightning bolt 1/day
        cast shocking grasp 3/day.

Just let me know if you want any of these items. You may have them."

Re: Delith: Dinner and Go

In reply to Morteft (msg # 114):

Stronginthearm listens to both Aztar and Morteft.

"Aye, I have a few things fer golems.  As far as doors, a few good whacks with a battle axe or mace.  Throm go get The Cracker."  The other cyclops trots around the bend.  "I do have a sword that is good against dragons, but ye say dragon like so it may not work.  I also have a liquid that can render magical things non-magical for a time, probably good against golems."  he will take Mortefts dagger and looks it over for a while.  He takes some tongs and then holds the dagger in the forge for a few seconds and then pulls it out.
"By the looks of the metal it appears to be +4, but there be something odd about it.  Where did you get it?"

Re: Delith: Dinner and Go

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 102):

Warwick goes into the room and changes into the new armor.  He spends some additional time trying to shine some spots on his old armor.  He also counts out 400 platinum pieces, leaving 160 of them on a flat service before leaving the room.

Taking his old armor and the platinum, he rejoins everyone.

"Thank ye.  The armor fits wonderfully.  He hands his old armor to one of the cyclops.  "There ye go, lad."  He then moves forward to pay the smith.  "Thank ye, Master.   I think ye're giving me the better of the bargain."  He hands the smith 240 platnium pieces.

"Well, even though it is a high grade alloy it has been changed in some way, at its basic level.  It's a strange one lad.  I think there is something beyond it being a +4 dagger."
